Retaking Deep Space Nine is probably my favorite space battle. Heavily outnumbered two to one, plus the bad guys create an obvious trap, but Sisko knows it's the only chance he's gonna get, so he takes it. Then the Klingons show up late and change the battle.
some that immediately come to mind for space battles are the Battlestar Gallactica fights. I think the episodes that come to mind are The Hub, and Exodus Pt2. whenever i watch those, i appreciate the sound mixing for the battles with the music thrown in, very well done.
Favorite space battles In Star Wars: Battle of Yavin, the trench run is so iconic Other: Retaking Deep Space Nine. "Cannon to right of them, Cannon to left of them, Cannon in front of them, Volleyed and thundered"
Favorite space battle for me has got to be in The Expanse, when the *Roci* gets in close to the stealth ship via brilliant piloting, then rips it apart with the PDCs! Or when they used torpedos as makeshift shields for the *Razorback*! Or when they blinded that one ship with torps, blew past it, and sheared off its drive cone with PDCs! Or when they fired torps, PDCs, AND the railgun to disable a dodgy ship!
The space battles in Thrawn Ascendancy series has some great space battles in them, and from the prospective of Thrawn gives them a really interesting approach
A little old school but the battle of Endor has always been my favourite. There is so much emotional weight and I still find the effects hold up, plus the Lando and Wedge run on the Death Star is pretty spectacular.
Your videos always make me want to find some people to play star wars tabletop games with! We have a strong X-wing comunity here but not so much legion or armada. I can only hope legion and armada pick up here. Rebellions are built on hope!
When the single droplet attacked in the book trilogy "The Three Body Problem" . Absolutely destroyed the fleet humanity built over a century. Humans where basically fighting with the equivalent to bows and arrows while the Trisolarians had nukes....and humanity thought it would win lol.
I bought back into Armada after playing Squadrons and seeing the Starhawk in action. Also, Crabbok, love your stuff, but that shirt's lack of an apostrophe is killing me.
My favorite Space Battle is a contentious topic, there's so many awesome battles out there! However, I think the space battle that encompasses all I love about its universe's space battle themes is the Battle of Atollon from Star Wars Rebels So much set up, so many different types of ships at play that all work as they should in universe, so many variables, beautiful shots and it all comes together in a logical, climactic way.
The Starhawk is on my wish list and this video puts it up at the top. I read the Aftermath trilogy when they came out, but I didn't remember the Starhawk in them. I mostly know the Starhawk from Star Wars Squadrons. Really hoping we get some dedicated space battle shows/movies for Star Wars someday.
My personal favourite space battle is the Battlestar Galactica (2003) Season 3 finale, the build up and honestly just Bear McCreary's excellent rendition of All Along The Watchtower make it my favourite.
I really liked the babylon 5 battle for proxima 3. First fight to free Earth from a Dictator. Had both a good space battle, but also hit home it was the start of a civil war. And had a lot of the emotional side of figuring out who would fight to defend the dictator, who would just do their job, and who would raise arms against their own.
Earth Alliance's attempted invasion of Babylon 5; starfighters, capitol ships of different classes, and a repulsed boarding action. First phase the station manages to repulse or destroy the invading forces, followed by an equally strong second wave. Not going to give away the end, even though it's a 20+year old show, but the battle ends with unexpected allies showing up and one of the best scifi speeches I've ever heard. The final line of the battle itself was 'if you value your life, BE somewhere else." I think you can find most of the battle on youtube, babylon five season 3 Shattered Dreams.
Star Trek Armada would be AMAZING!!! I've been trying to homebrew some of the ships and rules to make it distinct from Star Wars, yet retain the best elements of Armada. I'm thinking of Constitutions, D7s, and Excelsiors as medium bases, Reliants and Birds of Prey as small, and Galaxies, Warbirds, and Sovereigns. Instead of 'Squadron' commands, there will be 'Opetations' like away teams or shuttle missions. The range ruler dice pools should flip, with black only being available at long range to reflect photon torpedos, while closer range fire means fewer weapons can be brought to bear and fired accurately.
Gotta be the Battle of Sector 001 (Starfleet vs. the Borg in Earth orbit). It's gorgeous, dramatic, and has the best "Enterprise shows up and saves the day" entrance ever.
My favorite space battle is probably the battle between the resistance and the first order dreadnaught in The Last Jedi! Super tense and exciting, lots of amazing action and shots in that one!
The Starship battles from Brandon Sanderson's Skyward series is seriously enjoyable to me. It gives the feel of the scene in the new trilogy where Poe comes in above the water and killed 9 Tie fighters in 30 seconds. "Thats one hell of a pilot!"
It's so strange (and starting to get suspicious) that I'll buy something and within 2-3 days, you're reviewing it. Even on products that have been out for a while. Weird, but a welcome coincidence. I bought the Starhawk for the first time on the 27th, even though it's been out for a couple years.
Honestly there were very few sci-fi shows that I didn't like space battles in. From Babylon 5, BSG, SG-1 (and others), and even The Expanse. So many to choose from.
Suggestion for using Magnites - also include Q7 Phylons on the Starhawk. That way you can strip them of their Nav token if they ever are captured (according to FAQ, the victim MUST discard the token if able, instead of reducing speed). Even better if you have Rex too, you basically can guarantee they'll never move again.
This thing is a bloody beast! 😅 I think my favourite space battle could be from tv, would be taking the tylium asteroid from Battlestar Galactica episode Hand of God, I think from a movie it has to be the classic attack on the Death Star from A New Hope Lastly from the book Thrawn: Treason, the Clash of the Grand Admirals, this battle is insane and I won't say anything else in fear of spoiling it for people but it's well worth getting a copy just to read these chapters
I was surprised that FFG made the first design/model for the star hawk! Thought it was an interesting design and it sounds fun to play and terrifying to face
Favorite space battles; from Star Wars would be the battle of Endor. From another sci-fi would have to be Operation Return and the retaking of DS-9 in Star Trek: DS-9, or possibly the battle of New Caprica from BSG.
Retaking Deep Space Nine is probably my favorite space battle.

Awsome ship.

Have to say the battle of Scarif blew me away the first time I watched it and I still go back and enjoy it every time
Great Armada video as usual. Keep up the good work.

I really love the battle of Scariff. The shield gate give the battle a very fixed point to fight over. I love it
Gotta be the Battle of Sector 001 (Starfleet vs. the Borg in Earth orbit). It's gorgeous, dramatic, and has the best "Enterprise shows up and saves the day" entrance ever.
Is Kyrsta a Terminator? Look at that red eye on the card :D

Thanks for all of that info!
The battle of jakku is one of my favorites especially in battlefront 2 campaign with the Easter eggs from the book Lost Stars.
Rescue of the humans from New Caprica!!!!!
Amazing!
Good one!

So many great space battles! It’s hard to choose just one. I think I still like the Battle of Endor just because it was the first capital ship battle!
I love the Babylon space battles
R u gonna do a breakdown for the rapid reinforcements card?
I've enjoyed doing some battle fleet gothic but never really got into the space battles
This thing is a bloody beast! 😅

Babylon 5: A Call to Arms has a good space battle defending Earth. All the B5 battles are good. In Star Wars the Thrawn battles are my favourite.
Favorite space battles; from Star Wars would be the battle of Endor. From another sci-fi would have to be Operation Return and the retaking of DS-9 in Star Trek: DS-9, or possibly the battle of New Caprica from BSG.
Best space battle is definitely the climactic dogfight in Space: Above & Beyond episode 15 (The Angriest Angel)
Some of the best battles on TV in my opinion are from Babylon 5, Galactica 2003 and The Expanse
Love Armada
Love me some Starhawk. Prefer my imperial ships overall but man, this makes me want to buy some rebels
Not a franchise known for its space battles but Battle of Asuras from Stargate Atlantis. And battle of Endor also.
Wanna get a Starhawk now!
Best battle - Empire vs Rebel Alliance in RotJ!
The opening of RoTS imo
Would love to see Babylon 5 Armada!
Mine is always gonna be the battle in episode 3 opening scene
The Rogue One battle with the hammerhead ramming the star destroyer.
Double starhawk builds are awesome! (Or awful depending on which side you are on) My favorite space battle is from "Battle Beyond the Stars"
Is armada still owned by FFG or did AMG get that too like legion
Amg owns armada now
Brilliant Video, keep up the good work!
Saber? ,,,o.0,,,
The best part of the Aftermath series was the inbetween chapters not involving the main characters.
Battle of Jakku was better written in Alphabet Squadron than Aftermath!
Me (an imperial trying to know how to destroy the starhawk): how can they complain about the onager when rebels have THIS
No space battle will ever beat the 2nd Death Star
