Not so lovely from yuki girl. There is a concept that the sharp stone in the nails of Akane was placed by yuki and she intentionally took the scratch. But she didn't expected that Akane will attempt sucide. You will get it after watching next episode.
Sad fact: Akane's english dub VA got harassed on the internet because people were dissatisfied for her performance as Akane, and the fact that her mother conmitted suicide when she was still young, it hurts her even more. The irony:(
That’s wild to me because I haven’t been a huge fan of the dub, but Akane had one of the better English voices imo. And it’s mind blowing how “fans” of the show continue to miss the message in episodes like this.
@@CarlieAndAngehat's not even the worst of it. A popular belief is that Aka took inspiration for this episode from a story about what happened to a female pro wrestler(I feel really bad because I can't remember her name. I think it was something like "Haruka") who received similar harassment online. That girl, unlike Akane, did not get saved miraculously at the last second, and succeeded in her suicide attempt. After this episode aired, and people learned about the possibility that that was the inspiration, a group of Oshi No Ko "Fans" went and harassed the mother of said pro wrestler. Note how I said POSSIBILITY. As in, whether that's the actual inspiration or not isn't even a confirmed fact, but just popular belief. So as if it wasn't bad enough, these so called "Fans" harassed a mother for potentially EVEN LESS reason than there already was. So yeah, if you need examples of people who watch an anime but learn nothing from it's messages, look no further than those scumbags.
The end of this episode is genuinely one of my favorite Aqua moments because it actually shows that he's still just as much of the caring doctor he used to be despite his decade of life spent focused on hated and revenge.
“Remember what you said in righteous outrage online? There were consequences. You never saw them, but that didn't make them any less real, nor hold you any less accountable." This quote is the episode’s description and is something i think a lot of people online should hear.
Just to clarify something: Those comments seen during the scenes showing Akane's efforts weren't criticism that she has been dealing her whole life. Those were just mean comments born from the outrage caused by what happened in the show. The montage of scenes with Akane doing genuine effort during her entire life is just to show how people tend to judge without knowing the person.
funnily i've seen people do that too in yt shorts omment section lol. they act as if they know the entire life of the uploader from a mere 50 seconds video😅😅 and the scary part is that they sem to be seriously believe what they thought. it's like they write their own version of ppl they didn't even know
Even more than what Ange was saying, I think what Aqua means when he says "lying is the best way to protect oneself" is that if you put on an act or mask, it is protection for you. When people judge or criticize the mask you put on for others, they're really only judging the mask you created, not the real you. On the other hand, if you put your real self out there and people judge you, you have nothing to fall back on and it feels much more personal. Ultimately, it is all about protecting one's self-image.
Lies are one of the key ideas of the anime for a reason. Lies, love and showbiz. And everything's interconnected. And none of these are either good or bad. You can lie to protect someone, just as much as you can lie to attack. Aqua not telling Kana what the director said about her is an omission of truth, but the people online making shit up like "she was in my class and she sucked" is just as much of a fabrication. Ai herself said it best in the first episode. What if the love you want to show is actually a lie. It's just the inversion of being hated for who you really are. And those "good" vs "bad" lies actually lead into a whole theory I have about the black/white stars in their eyes, but that's another thing.
The scary thing is how cyber bullying really did kill someone in Hana Kimura. Just a simple flipping off another costar's hat in anger resulted in months of cyber bullying which led to her suicide. It's easier said than done to say turn away or turn it off. It really leaves deep scars if you haven't dealt with the criticism before like Kana.
From what I heard it was scripted, not even in true anger. I’ve seen other comments saying she was supposed to actually “hit” her co star per the directors, but she didn’t want to go that far, and decided on the hat instead.
@@ryanpalyo8181 it was scripted just like how they parodied it with Akane. The thing is all the cyber bullying that came to Hana sadly. Then the incident with her mom and the fans on here in Japan. People can't understand the irony behind that.
@@redmustangredmustang “parodied” is such an insensitive word to use. Comments like this are what caught her mom’s attention in the first place. Most people talk about the irony on how fans reacted badly to her mom, but the real irony is fans were the ones who provoked her mom into reacting like that. Fans kept on mentioning her name as if it’s the most normal thing to do, causing traction and inevitably reached her mom. The woman is grieving, you know. Casually making someone’s death be a topic for discussion is like telling her “BTW your daughter is dead”. Fans should just stop doing this name-drop thing. Just let her have her peaceful rest and not torment her mother.

This one was so tough to watch but brings to light the dangers of the internet. Don't worry, she will be fine and the next two episodes really showcase her abilities. In season 2 she will also play a major role.
Parents, friends, or even strangers helping someone in need is way more important. It's not just postponing the inevitable. It gives them new reason to try and give it one more chance for the person who saved them even though they've already given up on themselves. The longer they keep fighting, the more chance for them to recover and get healed.

No. That's a naively simplistic way to understand it. What it primarily is is people commenting out of ignorance and a sense of righteousness, maybe virtue signalling. One thing I don't understand is why didnt she just not look at social media and just wait for all the hate to die off ? Given how people nowadays have such short attention spans I figure in a week or two they would forget about it and move on. Can anyone elaborate ? Thank you.
It's harder than that, the internet won't easily let it go and while I do agree with your point, it's hard not to try and look for ONE positive comment thus leading you to keep seeing the hate
Logically speaking, as a functional, sensible adult, you are correct. Akane is not an adult yet though, she is a teenager with an obsessive personality who is not used to navigating social media, with a large audience observing and scrutinising her every action and isn't fully aware of the dangers of egosurfing.

It's my understanding that the actual thing she said is a whole way of life, and abstaining from meat can be just one part of it?
Anime Recommendation: Record of Ragnarok
That moment when Aqua said, "I'm not your enermy. You have no enemies." and stopped Akane from committing genocide was truly inspiring, probably one of the moments of all time.
Genocide is different thing my guy. Don't use words without knowing their meanings.
@@NekoKei_FEARNOTI think he's making a joke. A very fucked up joke, but still.😅
@@NekoKei_FEARNOT i think its a exaggeration about what would happen if akane fell and died in front of a bunch of cars going at high speed, saying "genocide" may be an overstatement but i assure you it wont be pretty
Lol i was making a joke pretending it was vinland saga
I don't know firsthand but apparently Japanese hate comments are... quite the thing
Dragon ball episode 130 please
11:01 was a hilariously out of place joke
