First time seeing a boss armor up. Kind of scared me a little haha. Didn't bring no healing pins. Luckily just strafing around was enough. Plus we get a nice cutscene with a legend returning! Enjoy!

Ironic that Nagi says Minamimoto is acting out of character because this is the part of the game in which he starts acting like his power hungry self. In the beginning it was strange for him to just start helping random people based on his behavior in the first game but now we know it was just to carry out his experiment regarding Rindo’s power. All he cares about is gaining more power and it is shown quite strongly here.
Nagi is very good at reading one's character, but even without her bias over his disturbing similarity to her favorite character makes sense she'd be fooled by how helpful he was.
What makes it even funnier is that Beat, Mr. Shubuya ain't cold enough for ice, of all people is the most rational about Sho. He knows his deal and firmly tries to convince the wicked twisters that regardless of their history, Sho is only in it for himself.

He still has some moments where he acts like he did b4 like with the thinking Suzukichi is a skater gag or immediately ready to charge in sometimes, but 3 years def helped him in terms of maturity. He's kinda like the big brother of the group, fitting when you think about his whole arc involving his guilt over Rhyme in the first game.

sho has a history of overestimating his own abilities. not here though, he was on point here, only the Legendary Player had a chance of taking out the Legendary Reaper.

They do that a lot with this game. Like we’re losing you starts playing during the conversation before the first susukichi fight, and then the vocals really kick in as soon as the dialogue ends. It’s a really nice touch.

I'm late here, but basically, since he counters every time without fail, you can basically force him to counter and play around it, as he's more vulnerable during a counter.
In a way, you have to counter the counter.

Just played this boss last night on hard mode. Not as hard as people think it is. When you rushes towards you for the slash dodge in the same direction at the right time and you’ll save yourself from a lot of damage that you would usually get. It’s crazy how she was still feening for power I was just thinking he was getting intoxicated by the plague noise and that’s why he transformed. But of course this man was just trying to get stronger due to the current situation. I also thought he was evaluating rindo, nagis and frets power to see if they could better improve for what is coming, especially rindo and seeing if rindo is connected to the composer because of his power and the fact his pin is much different from anyone else’s. That alone made it similar to neku being connected to Joshua and I thought he was going to keep evaluating rindo until he came back into contact with the composer and erases him to finally become the composer himself.
My stubborn ass that refused to drop to normal on the first playthrough. It literally took me 2 nights straight to actually beat him.
This boss was a nightmare. I’m playing the game through chapter select so imma use endgame pins
@@ninjapickles244 once you get his pattern down, he's not so hard. Felidae Cantus, the super boss beefed up version of Leo Cantus Armo, is easy too. If you can beat that superboss, you can easily beat this one

Fun stuff. Not sure if this is every time, but apparently if you 300% groove Minaman he T-Poses and you have to restart your game. Just happened to me twice in a row. >.>
I can't even gain groove in this fight, lol.
I made him T-pose and I didn't have to restart. He went back to normal when he got hit. It also definitely doesn't always happen.
@@xtrems2 it has to be timed, I think when he teleports you activate your groove, also you’ll have basically won the fight, because he won’t break out and his health bar still decreases so all you have to do is just watch out for the towers of flames

I only just now realized that he did this to test a theory and expected to lose control, all to try and help them understand the situation a bit better lol. Like, I already knew that was the case from the ending, but rewatching it I definitely feel like I have a better understanding of what was going through his head

I managed to do it... You lure his attacks without armor doing a simple ranged attack and then immediately evade, since he'll lock on your position. If you have quick activation pins (Like Sword, card or bullet) you can slide a quick attack after evading, repeat until he activates his armor, you'll know because he'll go away and your attacks will not affect him.
When he has armor, you need to wait until he charges towards you and be very careful about the ground. If he leaves a red spot behind him when he's just about to hit you, evade twice towards him. If you do it, you'll evade the claws and the flame geiser.
If he leaves the red spot in front, you can just evade once. After that, you can hit him with all you got (Except Chains, AOE, Rockets or Paralisis).
If you want to do this faster, you'll need the water sword or Poison lance and poison cards. Kappa Panic is too slow, you can't really immobilize him, and you'll always hit last... I also recommend things that give you extra groove, ups your attack or blocks attacks, the highly recommended pin is the one that slows down time, since it'll give you enough time to evade and counterattack, and also give you a clearer view of the "Drop the Beat" that you'll need to get it to 300% and deal extra free damage.
Also, I forgot, after you hit him in his armored phase, you need to be careful, because he apparently can retaliate... So the Slowing down time is pretty useful for that...
Okay now that it's been months I can honestly say this was a boss i was upset with that i Didn't want to fight... I'm a big fan of my absolute mad mathman

Ok first off what's wrong with you lol. Secondly he's Sho the guy who was responsible for a shit ton of problems back in twewy. So much so he even created a new breed of artificial noise that were very much waaaaay scarier than the Plague Noise.
Third you are delusional if you didn't think Sho wouldn't have a new boss fight considering his legacy. The dude was known for incredibly hard boss fights.
And finally forth, this mother fucker has died in total 3 fucking times. He died and became a reaper by playing the game, died again by blowing himself up, and died once more trying to fight Josh. This mother fucker is too legendary to kill off and it's hard as all hell to kill him. People legit keep reviving him. So yeah don't expect him to die ever lol
Also I love sho too because he's a fun character and I'm just saying that you shouldn't worry about him dying. Ever lol

I do not get how you are supposed to beat him
The game tells you "atrack him after he attacks/counterattacks" and yet he gives zero fucks and just counterattacks your counterattack which makes me feel like I just mashed this boss to death. It doesn't help that I got an A for some reason even though I kept getting hit over and over
TL;DR: Can anyone tell me how am I supposed to beat Sho? Or more precisely when am I supposed to hit him? Does he have a tell? An animation?
In theory you are supposed to wait untill he charges at you. He does leave him self open if you are quick enough. (use the fastest spammiest pins you can). I played hard mode the entire game and this is the only one to force me to go normal.
Basically use healing pin, three projectile pin and melee pin. Keep your distance, look out for his charging animation and attack after his charge. After you used up his armor it’s basically rinse and repeat.
Alright. With sho, your not supposed to rush at him like what you’d usually do to most enemies and bosses in neo.
With sho, your best bet to not getting your ass handed to you is attacking either with a barrage of attack like the lock on pins while he’s in and or out of his armor.
Specking of it. Armored sho should be the only time you should start thinking about going up close with him, since unlike his bare form, he can’t just side step everything you throw at him as easily anymore. But that doest mean he won’t eventually counter. So after landing a few hits, quickly dodge away from him and begin bombarding him with whatever ranged pins you have while he’s swinging at air.
When armored sho is kneeling for a bit. It means he’s going to charge at you, which is further highlighted by an audio cue just as he starts moving. Once you hear that sound, quickly dodge to his side, and start beating his back a bit before moving away from him before he could land a counterattack on you.
At times, he’ll randomly teleport infront of you and try stomping on you. But if your on the move it usually misses.
And then there’s his armored slam. Against this thing you basically have just two options. Either
A: run as far as you can from him before he drops down and erases most of your health bar.
Or
B: equip a barrier pin, and just block it…. No, I’m not joking. Literally ALL of his moves can be blocked with a well timed barrier. Even his AOE. I even tested it myself while trying to beat another day sho on ultimate.
For this one I used almost no melee attacks - relying mostly on long-range water moves to do damage while also avoiding his hits. He telegraphs all of his attacks so once you get the timing down, it’s pretty easy to dodge. In addition to water pins, I relied heavily on killer remixes to damage his armor. If I got lucky, I could do killer remix damage on his armor less body
I just bait him to attack me with fast shooting pin while my other fingers are on charged attacking pin and release right after he kicks
