This song is by far my favorite. The Chorus hits with that perfect mix of anger and sorrow you’d expect from someone riddled with anxiety, as they are pushed past a breaking point. This song convinced me that they knew exactly what the demographic of this game was, and honestly motivated me to actually do the things I’ve been too insecure to do myself. From my own experiences, this song strikes that chord. To hell with being pushed to be a cog in a machine. You have value. Value that can only be found in you. Whatever it is that makes you happy, whatever it is that satisfies you, that is yours and yours alone to make use of. Nobody has the right to tell you otherwise, and nobody knows how to use that power better than you. But in that same breath, as a certain character once said in this series, “Your world ends with you.” So act for yourself, that it might inspire others to do the same. The world needs more people like that, especially right now.
I dont think this song hits a particular demographic tho. It describes an experience we've all had more or less at one point in our lives. Sure hits closer to home for some but it never completely misses
Exactly. TWEWY'S always been for teens and young adults. People trying to figure themselves out while constantly dealing with pressure from others. But that's what it's all about :3 whether you need to learn to open up like Neku, or learn to think for yourself like Rindo, "The World Ends With You"
Same here. (Not in my 30s but still) that's one of the things I love about TWEWY and any anime that deals with relatable topics. Even if this is a game originally made for Japan, its message and themes are international. Plus having songs in english helps too lol.
I find myself coming back to this song. The reason why I constantly listen to this is because it has a lot of meaning. To those shutting themselves out and then finally coming out of your shell and accepting change. The breaking free is literally spot on and the sense of freedom is a relief off of your shoulders. For those who are still struggling, I hope things get better for you and that one day, you can improve slowly little by little. Do not be afraid of change, embrace it. Stay positive and ask for help when you need it. Lend an ear, be that shoulder to cry on, or just be there for someone. It's the little things that count.
I don’t really see it as a song about accepting change, but rather one about someone realizing that they’re their own person and don’t have to change themselves to b conform to what someone else expects them to be
@@Lorekeeper_GGuy You're both right. Whoever's pressed to fit a mold was full of insecurities but now he's done pretending and gonna break free and change from here on out towards the direction they want without listening naysayers and negativity telling them they can't do and they're better off listening to them cause they know what's best. My dad wanted me to join the navy and I wanted to buy a computer and get into technology, but he thought it's a bad investment of money so he bought himself a new car instead. Years later I work as a software developer because that's what I want. And obviously far, far away from him. But ultimately the good song can speak personal truths to you because everyone looks the world from their own lens. Even if the writers never meant to write a song about my situation, it's interpreted from my narrow lens as such, so I vibe with it.

If I could I would recommend this game to every single teen on the planet. Just to listen to this specific song. The beginning Teen years are different, middle and late are hard. I had a lot of people who didn’t understand me or my own world always wondering what the hell am I doing wrong. I’ve never done anything wrong for people to jump to conclusions about me. I learned not to care about their validation though and it’s one of the things that saved me. I started to care more about being me and no one else. I know I’m great I just have the believe that. The world ends with me.
Listening back to Tatakai made me realize this song might be a reflection to it. Can't really word it out since my brain thinks faster than I can type, but some lyrics definitely compare and contrast each other, especially the parts of being "perfect" and being laughed at and humiliated. Especially since I believe this first plays on the day Beat shows up in the UG as "Neku". And the intros, while NOT entirely, sound similar.
@@thehooded-guru I like that angle of it being Beat's theme although of the main group, Beat seems the most confident in the person he is. It could be a nice callback to the previous game where Beat kept messing up so perhaps its a more positive reflection of how far he's come even if he's still regular old Beat at heart - especially with the whole line about not being the perfect boy they want him to be. He seems much more confident in his image now and inspires people like Rindo, Fret and Nagi. I feel it represents the whole crew - all of them are breaking free of their mold as losers and the bottom of the bottom as, by this point, they've kinds overcome their feelings of inadequacy with Mina-man leaving them I think most of the OST reflects the whole group as they all share the same condition of being or feeling inadequate in some way
@@otakamerd1220 It fits past Beat to a T, his beef right before he died was with how his parents kept getting on his case about doing something with his life and being more like his sister. So he acted rebellious and walked out on them.
When you've hit rock bottom so hard that you have nothing to lose... The madness and despair around you is immeasurable, but you won't let that stop you. The key to freedom, that paradise, is in your hands, and your best option is to ride your way to the top through any means necessary until your sheer will power and resolve start piercing the heavens, propelling you to heights you never thought was possible. You have no idea what's going on, you have no idea how this is going to end, but you do know where you've came from, and all that matters to you is the ride to the top, and whatever spoils await you beyond the sky itself will be worth it in the end. So by all means, steel yourself, grit those teeth grab some snacks if you got the cash, and don't forget to fuel the tank every once in a while, it's gonna be a wild ride. But most importantly, "The World Ends With You".

TWEWY has fantastic music but they didn't need to go THIS absurdly hard for one of the STANDARD battle themes. This sounds like a final/secret boss theme but nope. I love it.
NEO SPOILERS / / / / / I've always thought it's cool how while The One Star is Beat's official theme in NEO, that the fans have agreed Breaking Free is basically his unofficial theme. This pretty much describes Beat's entire backstory
Your guess is as good as mine. But officially The One Star IS one of Beat's themes now. The One Star only unlocks once Beat is added to the story and the song plays every time Beat provokes someone into a fight. The most I could think of is... "Give me a break before I scratch myself out. I thought I was strong enough, but now, I know...I'm not the one who's good at pretending. I am the one who's tired of dependence. I am the one who can't bear anymore, I'm not the one who can live all alone" That basically sums up Beat's reason for running away from home.

Fuck this song is so good, it's been on repeat all week lmao. This whole soundtrack is so dope, I want it on Spotify so bad!
Wish granted :D
What’s the song name that plays during the pig noise ?
That'd be O-parts
I think its kinda depressing
Funny enough, it's on Spotify now lmao
End of week 1: *Disappointed that "Your Ocean" has stopped playing in battle*
After hearing this song: "This song is near enough as catchy as Your Ocean"
This is my “menu’s music” haha everytim i hit menu i always scroll the characters slowly before doing anything there, fret and nagi’s selection poses are the best, fret being confident and nagi surprised they look amazing, feels kinda default to me now, started a new game, missed it asap on my menu XD
This song has been stuck in my head all day. What a song, what a game!
Love that this song has Paul Castro Jr.'s seal of approval
MOST RELATABLE SONG EVER
Listening back to Tatakai made me realize this song might be a reflection to it.
Can't really word it out since my brain thinks faster than I can type, but some lyrics definitely compare and contrast each other, especially the parts of being "perfect" and being laughed at and humiliated.
Especially since I believe this first plays on the day Beat shows up in the UG as "Neku".
And the intros, while NOT entirely, sound similar.
But yeah my keyboard diarrhea aside, I think is Beat's NEO theme.
I feel it represents the whole crew - all of them are breaking free of their mold as losers and the bottom of the bottom as, by this point, they've kinds overcome their feelings of inadequacy with Mina-man leaving them
I think most of the OST reflects the whole group as they all share the same condition of being or feeling inadequate in some way
@@otakamerd1220 It fits past Beat to a T, his beef right before he died was with how his parents kept getting on his case about doing something with his life and being more like his sister. So he acted rebellious and walked out on them.
This is DOPE HYPER DOPE.
my favorite twewy song
Same
This and calling
I CALLED IT EVER SINCE FIRST LISTENING TO THIS!!! i am SO glad i was right and this is Rindo's whole theme!!!
I know almost nothing about this game but I can tell that whenever this song plays it’s the hypest shit ever
Best. Song. Ever!
Pumps me every time, waiting to erase some noise!
BEST SONG IN THE GAME CHANGE MY MIND!!!! 🔥🔥🔥

This song just hits hard… I personally relate…
Welcome back to the 2000’s alt rock era!
Super tiny spoiler, it’s said in passing in neo twewy and doesn’t reveal anything story wise. But fret says something along the lines of always listening to other’s opinions about him until he learned to stand up and not care what anyone thinks of him
Nah what you're referring to is SPOILERS
when he lost his friend and said the pain hurt so bad that he didn't want to take anything seriously anymore so he didn't feel that way ever again. He acted the way he did and cared about other people's opinions to not think about his past
@@ADragonNerd I was referring to the point where you can interact with the singer guy that looks like a girl or whatever and Nagi says to embrace uniqueness and fret mentions the stuff above. You then have a choice to chose either option when you scan him. I don’t remember the name of the character
This is one of my favorite tracks.
I love Rindo so much ; 0;
This song has so much divorced-dad-rock energy for a videogame ost
I live and breathe this song.
...goddamn i really need to replay this raw.
It's been too long
OOOOOH TAKE A LOOK AT MEEEEEE!!!!
Pounding at these prison walls inside my mind
Struggling to to break free
This But I realise
I’m stuck here shackled by insecurity
that tells me I can’t do what you’re expecting of me
Every night I lay awake
Wondering if I’m just a mistake
Ohhh take a look at
I know I’m not the perfect boy you want me to be
But all I really need
Is room to breath because this pressure’s killing me
All my life I’ve fought to win your validation
Always met with failure and humiliation
Maybe I belong here shackled in this place
Where no one else can see I’m nothing but a disgrace
Every night I lie in bed
Trying to escape from my head
Ohhh take a look at me
I know I’m not the perfect boy you want me to be
All I really need
Is room to breath because this pressure’s killing me
So, take a look at me
I know I’m not the perfect boy you’ve pushed me to be
But I’ve found some clarity
My life’s to precious to be shackled by insecurity
Now I’m breaking free
I’m through with you and everybody who’s telling me
Who I’m meant to be
I’m taking back control
the world ends with me
I went through a pretty nasty break up around the same time this game came out and whenever I heard this song while playing it always hit different for me
Thank you Pinoy!
mano essa música de NEO: TWEWY é incrivel!
Such a fantastic one! If only we had a higher quality version ://
Fire track !
The best track of the game.
JFC the lyrics hit so hard
Favorite of the battle themes.
my favorite song
Galaxy Brain, Activaaaaaaaaaaaate!!!
Those 5 people really don't know what they are missing...
Damn, this is good.
Reminds me of Crush 40.
Loving this game so far I'm in week 2 day 5
Best song in the game
Adorably angsty
Excellent
GALAXY BRAIN ACTIVATEEEEEEEE
1:01 I feel it
TWEWY has fantastic music but they didn't need to go THIS absurdly hard for one of the STANDARD battle themes. This sounds like a final/secret boss theme but nope. I love it.
1:01 when you step on a lego brick
Huh. Didn't know Breaking Benjamin was this popular in Japan.

I've always thought it's cool how while The One Star is Beat's official theme in NEO, that the fans have agreed Breaking Free is basically his unofficial theme. This pretty much describes Beat's entire backstory
How exactly does one star relate to beat? I always thought it related to Joshua more.
I am the one who can't bear anymore, I'm not the one who can live all alone"
That basically sums up Beat's reason for running away from home.
Is this series on playstation? I might look into it just for the music
Yep, it's on Playstation and Switch

Damn my theme song for irl
That is awesome
This game’s soundtrack hits different…
The best of the best ost. When it play, i almost break my joycon. lol
20 chain ultimate 300% groove
Ah yes, NEO TATAKAI
I relate to this song so hard as a trans-person. It screams being trapped in your own body. Regardless of meaning, this is the anthem of having a wall in the way of your life... and crushing it to the ground.
Oh my fucking god YES. I'm a trans guy myself (With transphobic parents) *so it hits so much harder*
