I agree...early spring I usually wade those areas for trout...water about 2ft higher and difficult to fish. Salmon, I generally fish the lower river...not so easy to catch when fishing with spawn....so far I'm 0-4...lol...on two occasions it was due to folks who don't comprehend "fish on: 😏
Those salmon should be left alone to spawn. Those guys are not real fishermen. Fishing in a foot of water with hundreds of salmon packed like sardines is not ethical. That’s just my 2 cents. The city really needs to consider shutting that area down to fishing.
Well said Adrian ! I agree. This is not fishing . You couldn’t even fish that without foul hooking a fish . Good luck getting any in the mouth even if it was ethical. They definitely need to make it a sanctuary from the dam to the boat launch
I can't believe it's allowed to fish in a place like that. Foul hooking must be impossible to awoid. Only small steps needs to be taken to help the fish upstream much quicker.
Pitch forks and dump trucks that’s what they do to these fish in some parts of the USA. These fish ruined this river of speckled trout and brown trout. Now the rainbows are next.These fish belong in the big rivers of BC where bears can feast on them . This river now stinks for months of dying salmon! This is not fishing with fish tails out of the water!
Ive fished this river my whole life... i dont fish it when its like this... absolutely no point... just snag city... wait until it thins out n fish the pools that are at least 4 feet deep n not the flats... but impossible these days... 20 guys in little pools
I have seen than many guys in one hole 🕳️ fishing yet snagging on each other’s line . Lol 😂 Also someone caught a female, cut her open took her eggs and send her done the river ALIVE . Like wtf . When I found her she was still alive so I’ve decided to dispatch her. To much animal cruelty, there .
When I fish for rainbows latter it like fishing in a morgue dead salmon floating by,and the river stinks for months . Ministry made a big. Bo Bo introducing those fish to theses small rivers and creeks. What were they thinking ? Now the big mess.
Anyone “fishing” over there right now should honestly be ashamed. At this point it’s just full on snagging. So many fish and low water levels just let them spawn.
It's part of life man and your only allowed a certain limit anyway for example I'm going this weekend and I'm not ashamed at all and if you have a problem with it take that to the ministry because if you say it here nothing will happen but if you bring it to ones with power they might but again it's part of life

The “fishing” the people were doing in these clips was wrong they are just putting a hook into a pool knowing they will snag one. I bet it was impossible to not snag one that day
you know that there are no naturally occurring salmon in lake ontario, we killed all the fish in the 70's and introduced the salmon as an invasive species so there would at least be something in the lake. These fish HAVE NEVER SEEN SALT WATER or ocean of any kind, 100% invasive species, so who is going to appoint themselves as the authority on which species and races live and die? not the first time in history we have had someone like that....

Just like hunting season for deer and bear, salmon fishing should be illegal on rivers at this time of year to permit successful spawning numbers.

90% of the fish are snagged. I have seen up close fish hit out of aggression but mostly snagged.

I think fishing should be banned all along the River ! To let them get up the river safely! I am from there and I strongly recommend it!
