    Had ours 5 years now. Cooked all over Spain and Portugal with our camper. Slowly added the grill pan and wok. Dont think of the wok as a wok but as a pan for one pot meals. Paella, risottos chicken chasseur, Chinese, curries. It can do it all. One little tip for camping, when you take the food off, get a lightweight camping pot and put water in it and sit it on the cobb, washing up water! Safe travels!

    I love our new Cobb grill and I have almost every attachment to use for everything. I love it ❤ Buy it you will not regret it.😊

    Excellent review mate. (I know it was 2 years ago as I write this!)
    I bought this maybe ten years ago?
    I've gone all in and have almost every fecking accessory they throw at me!
    And with good reason. I have a small balcony and it's perfect. I have a small boat, its perfect. Cycle to the park, it's just perfect.
    I'm pretty sure that any increase in their sales in Amsterdam is modestly down to me.... :)

    I have 2 cobb, one for home the other for camping. Like anything it's trial and error but they are very good.

    I thought of buying a Cobb at first. I changed my mind though and bought a Smokey Joe from Weber. That is what I call a real barbecue and it can hold a lot of cheap readily available brickets/coal.
    I can either fill it with coal all over or to each side and use it as an indirect heat source. I even made myself some coal baskets (one can buy them though). That way there is no need to waste a lot of good coal if I only want to cook for myself.

    I received the Cobb as a gift and I thought it was too small to be a serious grill. Once I got to understand it I bought all the accessories and I now look for excuses to use it. Thanks for all of your great videos.

      Yep, I think it has loads of potential and can't wait to use it out in the wilds of Scotland. Lot of learning to do (perfect excuse for more delicious food...). Hope you are both well! Cheers john

    Nice one 👍 We’ve started using the Cobblestones, they last longer than the average brick (but they’re not cheap mind you) Thought a Yorkshireman would be on Samuel Smiths though 😉

      Thank you. Good to know. Once I need to buy more charcoal I was thinking of trying the Cobblestones and Australian heat beads and comparing them with the Weber briquettes. I also want to see if the Cobb can make toast, but just working out how... Having lived in the Highlands for nearly 15 years Tennent's has slowly become my new 'Samuel Smiths' albeit after an extended period of Guinness imbibing... cheers, john.

    Great video, thanks for making it. I have posted som cobb videos. They are old and badly edited but I have had good feedback. I use good quality lump wood , burns hotter . Please carry on making videos. Cheers

    How many beers ????? ;-)
    I've seen a few of these fired up after being on the sea. Food always looks really well cooked, not classic barbecue black outside red middle.. Been v tempted but not taken plunge yet.
    Does the outer case stay cold/cool to touch?
    Could you use traditional charcoal? I've also seen some specific charcoal rings for them.
    Is a full strip down clean needed after each use???

      Hey John, At least one beer whilst waiting for the charcoal to get going obviously, I guess you would be going for a refreshing cider beverage instead... it's part of the barbecue experience surely?
      So, I am just about to upload a second video comparing the original setup with the Barbecue kit they sell but the short answer is: Original setup - useless without the lid on but when you use the lid then you get an indirect barbecue effect where the food is really cooked by the hot air with a bit of sizzle off the grill plate - not classic bbq stuff, but huge on flavours. With the BBQ kit you get a traditional direct bbq experience - delicious food with just enough of that glorious burnt edge and fast enough with the bigger fire basket to keep all the flavours. Both work, but with slightly different experiences. Base stays ridiculously cool - very impressive. Cobb sell charcoal rings - very expensive and don't work for the large fire basket. I believe you can use normal charcoal and may do a comparison in a future video. The fat and oil collects in the moat, so cleaning depends on whether you want day old fat smells in the van or not. It's good as a cooking system, but unfortunately it's not great as a bbq or a field oven unless you spend more money and it is expensive to start... Great for a van though once you buy the extras...
      Will I be seeing you in Scotland this year, or are you going to risk a van tour across the channel once you have done the course down south? Cheers, johnb

      I had planned a quick visit north next week... but it was suggested that I was taking the P and the mick. Cornwall at end of month... then course... then who knows! :-)
