I gotta try this as a last resort. I had the spell boost potion and physical power potion active, along with blood moon AAAAAND my blood being 99% but I guess my usual ruitine isnt enough aaand on top of all of that I was gear level 63. I use the slashers to dodge but they arent good enough. I usually use my sword. Il re-comment on this comment on how this goes. I will use the exact same powers and weapon choices. Cross my fingers. ❤❤
@@terribletimmy2 Yeah, totally. I actually did it mostly with the merciless bow and the Skeleton spawn shield + Ice barrier. They require paying more attention to where he's jumping around, and 0.5 seconds too late and he whacks you, but if you pull it off you can spawn skeletons that agro him or do damage to him with the ice shield. Either way, good video!
My strategy is lure him to the small area on the side so when he do the spin attack he just stay in place and hit the wall because it not enogh space for him to move around also while staying near that wall on otherside then just spam AOE attack.
Alternatively, you could run full onholy build and he will mostly focus on the minions. Everything else just sidestep and dash aways the odd attacks that will actually target you.
Damn that was so smooth. I’m currently making builds for brutal cause my comment section keeps whining my build vid was on normal. Which jewel effects are required for this?
None for this one. You can use blank spells and have the same effect. I will say the best options for discharge in this particular flight would be the jewel that charges primary for every storm shield you earn, as well as "become immaterial once you gain 3 storm shields" The weapon charge is SO much damage and immaterial gives you even more room to deal with stuff like his spin or the slash that launches projectiles. Bloodrite, increased damage, increased primary damage after, daggers, or even "invisi while immaterial" are all solid effects
@@terribletimmy2 sick. I run the same blood rite jewels. It’s really cool how much the jewels change our spells. Definitely gonna do a vid on that haha. Have you seen the jewel effect for the illusion wolf? It heals you for 80-95% (depending on your roll) of your spell power after it hits everything. There’s also a sick jewel for the mosquito that also heals you. Or unholy explosion and void have jewel effects that make them explode into smaller explosions. Makes alot of these mid abilities really fucking good.
Yeah there are some wild jewel effects. IMO the absolute craziest is Mist trance jewels. It goes from "uh, cool I guess" to really crazy. 1 effect will reset your Q when the counter triggers another effect will fear everything around you when it triggers another effect gives up to 4 phantasm stacks on one counter. It's incredibly good in PvP, and still solid in PvE
@@terribletimmy2 I appreciate you humoring me btw, I have 200 hrs in this game from the early access and played the gloomrot update but didn’t delve into the jewels too much. I know you have way more hours than I do. So I’m still learning some of the out there stuff that was added before 1.0. Edit: typos. Derping on my phone.
how I dodged it was just move in one direction if I can diagonally then when he jumps I move in the opposite. Basically how you dodge all the smart aims stuff in the game. I bring double parry screw thos fire archers and when he spins to win I dash through it with space, I save space for it. Then go invis with slashes. Beat him on my 2nd attempt. (I vsed him in early access and he kicked my ass plenty)
Is there a way to avoid his rage leap without counters? It seems really hard to avoid. That's the attack I have the must trouble with because it seems to have obscenely good tracking and it comes out so fast. I nearly got him with an unholy build attempt and his leap attack got me. This was after like 2 hours of trying different things, from great sword to ranged.
yo bro. so I'm guessing they removed the orange ancestral weapons? and also didn't they change the axe e? my axes still throw 2 instead of 4. not sure what's going on. maybe you could perhaps explain to me please?🙂
I have 2 orange ancestral weapons the exist. You get them from the greater Stygian vendor or the t2 incursions. It’s a random chance the purple turns into orange.
The double counter is a game changer for Octavian!
Wow your counter timings are so precise and slick
Thank you for this strategy I was struggling with Octavian after watching your video it helped me beat him
Keep up the great work you do
Seconding. I kept trying one counter and a long range to deal damage, but this is way more efficient.
Would want one for Adam, that guy took me like 130 tries
On brutal or normal?
@@terribletimmy2brutal would be best
thank you. will try this when i gear up
I have been using Blood rite and Mist trance, I really like the teleport Mist trance gives, it has saved me many times.

How did it go? I am really struggling with this boss 😢
Thanks a lot ! This helps
Glad to hear that!
I got this guy down to 10% on Brutal before a big patrol came through and wiped my encounter. I wanted to put a fire axe through my monitor.
There's a patrol that spawns and roams inside his area. Sucks when they respawn mid fight

Yes there is.
Strafe one direction while facing him, and once he jumps, strafe the opposite direction.
You should avoid his hits easily this way
Another Timmy tutorial for my addiction
I see his health coming back when hitting Octavian with pistol now and then.
Is that a gem, or ??

@@remortisgaming ahh i see. thank you so much😁
well played
I just use necro bolt and shield with spirit dash.
Theres a clan in my server that took like 10 nights fighting it before give up
All of this just because i was there to trigger more summon lmao
I could counter everything except for when he goes into frenzy. He jumps five times for me unlike thrice like in this video
If you dash or have skeles, he will jump additional times
Second
you can also just move to the side when he jumps
You have to have high move speed for that. Power surge or Bloodrage for example. It won't always work otherwise
Counters don't work as interrupt on the Old Trick so they are not really helpful against this stupid mechanic.
They don't interrupt, but you can just walk through his old trick when they proc and you have s
Would've helped more if you showed his location on the map ....
You can use the blood tracking tool for finding bosses.

Am I nuts, or is his kit the same as on Brutal as it is on Normal? Or am I on a Brutal server and haven't realized it? I 3 shot this guy at 58.
the difference lay in the fact he chains his attacks must faster and the attack where he rages and jump around isnt the same in normal
