I love how Chase is so calm and always has so much light-hearted fun while I'm over here panic rolling and barely taking down 1 person 😅
I like how he doesnt trash talk the other players. He shows respect if they try but arent that good. He's so chill as he plays.
He just enjoys the game, regardless of outcome. Which makes him ultimately play better. If you panic, you’re gonna mess up. It’s all in the souls hand book.

The nice thing about the soul series is that you can make almost anything work. Granted there will always be the stronger builds but if you're enjoying a particular build you can still make it strong.
@@MentalNewb My favorite build I have done is still a broken straight sword dark build I had in ds3, that stuff was funny.
Chase, I'd love to see a pure arcane build with occult. One of my favorite weapons in the game isn't a weapon: its the spiked palisade shield. I have it at +12 and it gives me over 100 bleed on a non-arcane character. Shield crash counts as multiple hits and it hurts like hell if you can proc the bleed, which is very easy. Occult increases innate bleed by a lot so use weapons that already have innate bleed.
I don't know what's stranger, a bleed Greatsword or the fact that it performs incredibly well.
How is Chase always just the most chill person ever when committing acts of humiliating murder on (not always) unsuspecting individuals? It's like he was born to play these games. Or at least born to stab other people in them. Yet he's like the nicest guy to get murdered by. Never gets mad or yells at people. Tells them he had fun even when he's fighting people using dumb stuff or ganking with poor manners. The very pinnacle of polite superiority.
Also who else gets freakin backstabs in this game like this? Not many people that's for damn sure. Easily one of the most impressive feats he pulls off, reliably getting backstabs on people. No bum is safe now.
I love your enthusiasm and how fun you make this look, never getting angry.. For me personally, you project the right energy and vibe, kudos on the channel!
I like how you’re trying out all of these builds and weapons and actually finding ways to make good use of them instead of complaining that they aren’t good enough like a portion of the player base does. It’s refreshing to see someone take a fair go at all of this in PvP and play around how the weapons work.

There are people who are much better mechanically, but Chase is one of the greatest content creators because he never drops his positivity and he finds ways to keep it fun, always enjoyable to watch. Plus he puts out longer vods than I have time to watch, there's always something to enjoy

@@tsurugi5 I don’t get why you classified this type of game to have a low skill ceiling, but those try hards are really good at these types of games. Like Chase but 10 times better. That’s more than enough to retain an audience.
@@pytrem it does have a low skill ceiling compared to other competitive games but I never said that was bad thing, it just makes it a weird thing to get worked up over. Besides, you could give me the best player in the entire and I wouldn't bother to watch if the content was unpleasant but maybe that's just me

So glad to see you still occasionally use the seppuku claymore since that dono recommendation from awhile back. It’s bleed rate is cracked, and it’s honestly my favorite bleed weapon.
I feel like the great stars is a but slept on for this kind of build, it has innate bleed build up AND life steal on every hit, another contender for a normal mace is of course the morning star. Although I think dual omenkiller cleavers is a fun option, along with spiked caestus so you can punch the blood out of people. So many fun weapons for str/arc builds.

Str/Arc sounds like precisely what I want. I love my Str build, but it has some shortcomings depending on what I'm doing that a bit of bleed and magic would patch up wonderfully. Great vid!

Incase you didn't know, sword dance ash of war does have a 3rd slash with a follow up input. It looked like it would've finished off that one blue nicely early in the vid. Great vid as always!
Here a few weapons that can get good scaling with occult infusion: Warped Axe, Brick Hammer, Club, Giant Crusher, and I Think watchdog's greatsword. These weapons get C or B scalings in strength with and OCCULT infusion, with will also add a B or A Arcane scaling. They bring very high damage and I thoroughly enjoy them on my STR/ARC. Edit: I found some more strength occult weapons, Inferno Crozier and Great Mace. Hope this helps with weapon variety.
I have 889 ar 2 handing inferno crozier at 55/56, how does giant crusher stand up to this?

Saweeet! Def adding a blood greatsword to my Str/Arc build. And walls.
On my first playthrough I decided to gamble and go with hero thinking that arcane might be more than just luck in previous titles. I knew I wanted a strength build. What resulted was fat bleeds on heavy weapons, with blood and dragon incants as well. It is still my favorite character to play by far, and I don't see anyone else running exactly my same build although yours is close. Thank you for this vid
Not sure if anyone else has mentioned this, but the Brick Hammer gets A scaling in Arcane and B scaling in Strength when infused with Occult, which is stupendous since other weapons, as far as I know, get up to only two Bs at most. The A/B scaling gives makes the Brick Hammer the only Great Hammer with an AR that can compete with that of Colossals.
Also from what Ive seen online its a crazy shield breaker, especially with royal knight resolve

Do you always try to fill out the 30 weapon slots naturally or do you sometimes "just put weapons there for it to be full"?

Chase has always had a bunch of weapons in his arsenal for different occasions/strategies. Been doing it way back in Dark Souls 3.
He will always have 30 weapons so he can remember where each one is. Sometimes putting multiple copies of the same weapon next to each other so he has a bigger "target" to hit when weapon swapping. Basically he does it for efficiency and consistency
A new thing i just recently saw that you might be able to take advantage of is you can jump attack after a parry and still get a crit off

Started my first playthrough as a pure str build but ended up switching to str-arc after finding out about the mohgwyn sacred spear and the blood incants, and it’s honestly been the most fun I’ve had in souls pvp in a while. The Marais Executioner’s Sword, blood infused dual wielded bloodstained daggers and vulgar militia saws, and the occult infused brick hammer with its B str and A arc scaling are some of my favorite weapons. You might not get the RoB or cross naginata with str-arc, but there are definitely some fun weapons to choose from regardless

Marais is so much fun now that you can roll out of the final swing with its AoW lol

@Ascenndant I think the scythes and the twinblades would be pretty good. Also the beastman curved sword (or the greatsword) with blade dance would be damn good
@Ascenndant I’m working on my own strength-arcane build and i’ve been leveling after a certain point just based on what gives me the most in return for w/e weapon(s) i’m going with. Like Chase said at the start of this video, he stopped at 45 arc because the stat return was less than what he was getting back in str returns (if i’m remembering correctly lol) as far as keeping melee or not, i’d say try both out and see what you have more fun with! me personally, i’m going for a melee specific build.
i ran one for most of my playthru doing marias executioner blade in one hand then dragon communion seal in the other its quite fun but thats basically all u can do with arcane outside of bleed builds which sucks because bleed is boring
45/50 is the arcane softcap for weapons - on blood infusion it's about 45 but on occult it will scale better up to 50
I’ve been running dual Elonara twinblades and am very surprised how not much else seems to compare to it. I’ll also run dual blood nagakibas and just started leveling dual blood scavenger swords.
Also been finding the occult grave scythe to put in some good work :)
Occult+poison love weapons that have innate bleed buildup; you get to buff the base bleed on top of your physical/poison. Weapons with high natural strength scaling love the bleed infuse, since they'll get the same bleed buildup any other bleed-infused weapon gets, but scale better with strength.

Just wanted to say the jumping L1 on twin blades is a 4 hit combo if you're close enough. I used dual godskin peelers for a while with seppuku and it was guaranteed bleed every time it landed on bosses or players. I combo that with claw talisman and the armor that buffs jump attacks along with white mask and bleed talisman. It was an insane build and what I eventually beat Malenia with

With the strength arcane build, you can go greatsword and stone hammer for a true combo that does instant bleed on the crouch stab.
Have you ever considered making a fail compilation? Like some times when you’ve ran off a cliff or turning a corner right into an ambush? I feel like it would be a nice change of pace
It's hard to make a fail compilation when you seldom fail.

Don’t know if this helps but when I bring out my double spears I put beast roar on my left hand spear. Doesn’t have much range but it can punish wizards that have a longer cast animation.

The power stanced Twinblades have insane status buildup. They share the curved sword's Status Motion Value of 280 with the jumping L1 so with 40 Arcane you deal 350 bleed without Seppuku. My char with 80 Arcane gets 725 bleed with double Seppuku which is just stupid.
Don't sleep on the winged scythe. A good bleeder with a faith scaling, as well as preventing estus healing is super underrated.
Oh yeah that weapon is amazing in the right situations
Try stamp sweep on gugs it procs pretty consistently and is super cool
All of your builds based on stat distributions or infusions are pretty cool, but I was wondering your thoughts on trying to create builds centered around trying to make underpowered or gimmicky tools in the game viable. For example, trying to make a build centered around the ground slam ash of war.

Have you tried using fist weapons I use iron ball and star fist with Aow stormstomp blood infused, wait for a jump attack or close distance use the stomp and true combo into acouple r1s and you kill every time

I'm dissapointed that most of the cool/unique (IMO) weapons are Arcane weapons but all are bleed. I really don't want to make a bleed build but damn that shit looks cool
Marais Executioner’s Sword is a fantastic strength arcane weapon that doesn’t do bleed. The weapon art + Thorny Cracked Tear and Magic damage Tear + Millicent Prothesis + Rotten Winged Sword Insignia will deal disgusting damage if you can get the whole thing off.

Dunno if you'll see this but you should know Cold doesn't scale with arcane, only weapon level I believe. Same with scarlet Rot.

Is there any particular reason you went for 137 instead of 138, was the summon level calculator for 125-150+ invasions wrong?
I think he mentioned in the stream that he just couldn't figure out where to put that last point. He had all the weapons he wanted so another point would've been negligible.
I just got my character to lvl 138 cuz of what he said in previous videos so when i saw he was lvl 137 i panicked a bit lol.

remember if you are on PC you can pause it when he opens the menu and move frame by frame using the comma to move back and period to move forward
Ive been trying to make a good outfit with the malenia helm for a while. You can also use banished knight armor, both altered and unaltered look pretty good with this set.

19:59 That is sadly my pvp experience, only that I am on the receiving end. In other games I get 20-30 ping on german servers, 40-60 on other european servers and ~80-100 on american servers, yet in elden ring I seem to constantly be on the receiving end of a bad connection. It's kind of sad because often I COULD be having fun and git gud at it but as it stands I doubt it'll be possible for me.

dex arcane is probably technically a little better just because of the weapons' faster movesets usually and stuff but heavy arcane playstyle is just so much more satisfying with like chunky damage

Quick question, does anyone actually play at 120 instead of 125? Also fun fact for caestus is you have one in each hand its better than two handing one if you are not using the 2h r2, lets you do more damage, and you could stack buffs with one on each, like I was rocking warcry and royal knights resolve for ganks who were getting a bit to comfortable.
People have had this debate for a long time. It was always a debate between 120/125, and 133 for the invasion min/max. Just find where you’re comfortable, and work builds around said level 😊
from 10 to 150 you will find lots of people. You should work your level around the areas you want to invade (early areas, lower levels). As for duels, 125-150 is where most people are at
