I felt this was a really honest performance! She did really well integrating her obvious legit soprano with the belting demands of this style of song. In the end it was Dorothy from The Wiz. It was not overly emotional in timber but not everyone who plays this character is Stephanie Mills.
She has an incredible voice, that's undeniable, but there was something missing here. I just didn't feel any true emotion. Maybe there was too much attention payed to the technical aspects of the song that she forgot the acting.

wow... she's very good,... but honestly i didn't feel it, i didn't feel what she was singing.
