I love how it took longer for her to break down this time. It proves how subtle the character can be. She even touched on Leslie leaving, but she should have jabbed that at Collin.

@@superdemonboy It often stems from "daddy issues." If you had a troubled relationship with your dad where you felt like he didn't love you or that he wasn't proud of you, you are more likely to seek out men who remind you of him, and then try to please those men as a way of retroactively recieving the love and acceptance you so desperately wanted from your father. Because of this, women who had abusive fathers often end up in a cycle of abusive relationships. It's really hard to go against those instincts, and most women who do this aren't even aware of it. I struggle with this myself some, so any time anyone yells at me, I just fall into this victim mode and do or say whatever I can to make the other person not angry. This is because my dad had some temper issue when I was younger, and I internalized his anger and thought it was my fault when it was completely unrelated. My dad wasn't even abusive or anything. It's just about how I perceived our relationship, and how I felt like he was always disappointed in me, as if I wasn't good enough. In my teenage years I was always trying to earn his and my mom's approval, but I was struggling with undiagnosed mental illness, which was causing problems at home and in school, so my efforts went unnoticed, and my parents (mainly my dad) often yelled at me and expressed disappointment, because from the outside it really seemed like I just didn't care. We actually have a really good relationship now, and I don't think he did anything wrong as a father (it was just a case of poor communication and misunderstandings), but that behaivor is still ingrained in me, and I have to be careful to not date men who yell at me and dont think I'm good enough etc. If I'm not careful, I will instinctively try to earn their approval and love.
Interestingly, my older sister doesn't have any of these issues despite growing up in the same household, which really goes to show how much your perception of what's happening around you affects your worldview and internal monologue. It's actually kind of fascinating to explore haha. For example, a kid might think his parent's divorce was his fault because his parents always fought about how to raise him and his brother, while his brother might realize that they were just caught in the crossfire. The younger brother grows up and has chronic relationship and intimacy problems, while the older ends up totally fine, all because of their different perception of the same event. Anyways, there are other reasons a woman might go for abusive men, this was just one common example.
Another example is how the media often romanticizes abusive relationships towards women, and portrays true love as something that causes possessiveness, anger and even violence in men. The twilight book series is a prime example of media that romanticizes a seriously unhealthy relationship, and was responsible for a whole generation of teen girls idolizing abuse. Hopefully this helped answer your question, and sorry for such a long response, it's just that this is a complicated subject haha 😊

Air Quotes it was mutual between her and the show. There’s a strong argument that Leslie Jones didn’t really fit late night sketch comedy. She also wasn’t the best actor since she frequently bumbled delivery with the lines and often times broke. I’ll give her credit tho, she got better towards the end.

I imagine Heidi unleashed that “you’re both trying to do comedy” line on Che live on air but not on read through or at dress rehearsal judging from his, oh man, she got me good, reaction. I wonder what the read through line was because it was funny enough to be approved for air. Heidi’s a beautiful dream.
Heidi did a guest spot on this past weeks episode of "Superstore" i was hoping she'd be around for a few more but i think it was a one and done deal!

Am I the only one finally returning to SNL? I didn't watch for years and couldn't name any new cast members but now I know them all. Feels good to be back. I hope SNL continues to evolve and improve.
