  • Harry the greatest professional latte artist tries out the Nanofoamer Pro! We really like the consistency and ease of use and would pick it over many machines. I can see this to be fantastic for bringing consistency to learning how to pour latte art or aerating alternative milk. Just be careful of clean up.

I’ve been learning how to pour latte art with this and the Flair 58 for the last two weeks. Cleanup is definitely annoying, even if you rinse immediately after steaming, but the fact that I can focus on learning pouring technique rather than both steaming and pouring simultaneously makes this totally worth it.

Put the little rubber a bit higher than the milk doesn’t get so hot underneath. And than some water en the black brush. I get it all gone like that.

After using mine for almost 2 months now, this is definitely for home use only. The cleaning is really a challenge. Since it's also narrow, it's hard for my man hand to go inside and clean it with a sponge.
I have to say though that the most unique feature of this is being able to foam without heating the milk. So you can probably use this in a café setting by using it to foam milk without heating for cold drinks. This way, you only rinse the kettle without having the need to clean it.
Also, because of the small size, I was not able to foam enough milk for 2 cups. You really have to foam twice if you are serving 2 cups of drinks.

2 months ago? Lmao, we in the EU have really been screwed on the shipping, still waiting for mine 😁 but why don't you use a dishwashing brush or a glass cleaning tool? One of those flexible wands with sponge material in all directions at the end of it

I use the long brush that came with it. Not much of an issue for me, I transfer the milk to another jug as soon as possible and run e with cold water straight away to stop the milk on the bottom cooking

@Harry. I got mine too - we chatted about it at the SF coffee festival.
It can do a full latte size. Slightly under max is about 6 oz.
The longer keep it on the base, the hotter, up to 65C. I find the default of 59C a little too cool.
I pour water into it as soon as I transfer milk to pitcher.

Yeah I should've let it go until stop so it is sufficiently heated.
Latte size is 11oz to 12oz for us so it's definitely not big enough for that

@@gerber8915 Bro.. I can't tell you all the things he did wrong but all you have to do is read instruction. It takes 5 minutes. I will just tell you one. After it says "OK" you dont just yank the lid whille it's spinning. First Okay is minimum temperature, ideally you want to wait until it finishes and stops which raises temperature and makes the foam even more silkier.

Its fascinating that it draws 400 watts and takes a minute to heat up the milk. Puts into perspective how much energy is being stored and used in boilers to do milk in 10-20 seconds

I've been using it for a month. Definitely for home use. I use oat milk and can say it gives really nice foam. Cleaning is still annoying as you have to carefully rinse while avoiding getting the electronics wet and then wipe the inside with a cloth or paper towel to remove any residue. But probably the best way to get foamed milk without a steam wand.

  • @niccoloaurelius1587

I've similarly found setting 1, with the black magnet, to work for "the best" microfoam....and also have a hard time doing any latte art with it. Setting 2 is way too foamy. Not sure why they even made a setting 4 and 5, those lunatics. I was thinking of selling mine and later on getting a Morning Dream steamer, when it comes out, but I think I might keep the Nanofoamer Pro to take on road trips. It's far from perfect, but it works well enough.

Same issue here. Even setting 1 with whole milk is too liquid'ish for me. Have to pour so so very close to the surface to get any hope of the milk not sinking. 2 is too foamy. I wrote to subminimal suggesting to provide more granularity in the settings (maybe 1.25, 1.5, 1.75, 2, etc.). Haven't received any response so far. As of now for a "Pro" device, it is very disappointing it doesn't allow more finer grained control over the foam density.

@@christiangavin3714 I’ve found that getting near the max milk line makes setting 1 a bit more foamy, so that can be like fine tuning it.

@@niccoloaurelius1587 Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately (or fortunately?) I don't have the chance to try it as I returned the product. For now, I will stick with the steam wand. I suggested to Subminimal they should provide more granularity in the settings, or they could add another bigger flow controller which would reduce foaming, and maybe a different nanoscreen / impeller could be an option.

After a couple of months this is the way I use it
-For single latte I fill it to the meddle between the lines, use program 1 and after it finishes, I keep it running for 20 secs, full silky milk from there
-For cappuccino, fill it between the lines I use program 2, after it finishes, I let it run for 15 secs, more foam but still silky milk texture, for a full foam use program 3 without any extra time
-Latte + macchiato, if you want to do those 2 shots, fill it above the max line, like 1 CM above, use program 2 and let it run for 25 secs after it finishes….youll have enough foam and milk for both
A general rule is to always pour it to a separate pitcher, give it a few tabs and swirl it to integrate the milk more evenly
Great product with its clear limitations and annoying cleanup but nice addition to the home setup

@@gerber8915 another tip that I can tell, is to place the flow control like with a little bit of inclination, like the base place it to the right line and the top to the left line, I've seen better results with that inclination than placing the flow controller straight

I'm screaming at the screen - rinse it with water straight away and fill it with water for a few minutes and there's no issue with cleaning it. Much the same as you would with a steam wand. I've had one for a couple of months at home. It does a much better job than me, every time, on both dairy and oat milk
There is limited control over the temperature - when it first says OK you can stop there, if you let it continue, it gets hotter and then stops.
