What I love the most is that respawn have listened to the fans, there's more customization options, more force abilities, bigger worlds, more ways to traverse, it looks like you can fly the mantis now and the split lightsaber isn't just a move you can do. This looks amazing, can't wait
@@constantinoschristofides9843 the more customization options were leaked earlier, there are more force options shown in the trailer such as cal turning around stormtroopers in midair and making them shoot other troopers, the world's just look bigger with no giant casms and, OK the flying the mantis might be a bit of a stretch, I think cal can just use it to get around without greeze (I think that's how you spell his name) and cere
Being able to have 2 completely separate lightsabers instead of the the split attacks with the double-bladed lightsabers from the previous game is very welcome. And hopefully being able to stick with 1 lightsaber and build on that with more lightsaber stance styles hopefully. The longsword like lightsaber was also an interesting surprise.
I swear Cal is now a legend and recognized just like Luke Skywalker, Leia, and Han Solo! This video game really revived the spirit of Star wars which the Disney sequels were SUPPOSED to do!!!
It feels a lot longer than just over 3 years since Fallen Order. Easily one of my favourite single-player experiences on 8th gen consoles. Survivor's gonna be a day one pick-up for me.

I have actually done a duel weilding like move in the last game. Basically, use the lightsaber throw on an enemy, but before it comes back start striking. The lightsaber will come back and deal even more damage. The move deals a LOT of damage. It is very effective against Trilla and ATSTs. About the new game though. My only issue is that the graphics don't seem to be much better than Fallen Order. Not a bad thing. Just a critique. Everything else though, looks FUCKING AMAZING. I forgot how talented EA is at making good star wars games. I am hyped for this one.
@@aidanforman5950 i think this time its more about them refining the art style / direction and polishing what was already there. Cuz holy moly did the wookies look really off / weird in the 1st game. Hopefully all that gets fixed including just some minor graphic buffs :)

Cal is really determined to have every kind of lightsaber in one. He even figured out a way to make a cross-guard that less likely to injure the user than Kyo Ren's. Maybe in the next game he'll attach a blaster like Ezra's
Bruh they really gave this man a claymore of weightless light, I know lightsabers have some kind of weight same reason Fallout laser rifles have recoil but still
@@MrMeddyman While lightsabers don't have "weight" in the blade, the canon explanation for why they're "heavy" the larger they are is that the magnetic field around the plasma of the blade is extremely strong (it would have to be to contain a continuous stream of plasma) and has a tendency to pull the user's arms in a simulation of weight as a result. Therefore the larger blade of the "claymore" style lightsaber will have slower movements.
Did anyone else notice that the crossguard on his lightsaber at 1:44 has two blade shrouds so he doesn't cut his hand off if it touches his wrist? That is a VERY good sign when it comes to attention to detail.
It's so logical, especially that Joda and no one ever mentioned this guy. Luke was the last hope with Leia, but there were a spare Kastus? Oh come on, please don't ruin old legacy, rather create new stories!
@Rock little true considering the army was shut down any mercenary or pirate groups would've found deactivated battle droids and reprogram them for their own uses

the only problem with the game is when it hitches while generating the world for the first time you enter it and during cutscene somtimes, that's all i can say. Maybe the graphics is a little bit unpolished (in terms of details around you) when you compared it to something like the witcher 3

Could not agree more game was absolutely stunning but after the game was over there was nothing to do besides just visiting old planets and killing the same enemies.
I'm really excited to see Cal's improvement with the Force and the saber. This game is gonna take place a few years after Fallen Order, right? He's already gotten stronger! Him lifting that machine gun Trooper up and firing on the others was sick!🔥🔥
I always appreciate when the trilogies interact with each other one way or another, I’ve missed the battle droids and seeing them back is so nice. I’ve would’ve been fine with simply the original droids only but that fact they added so many differing types makes me happy😊
I feel like that was their way of giving us more dismemberment and accurate saber behavior without making Cal seem too brutal, which seems to be what they’re aiming for with his personality.

Thats Kylo’s force power to stop blaster bolts in midair, also his lightsaber configuration with the two mini lightsaber guards is also the same as Kylo.
Somehow the thing that's exciting me the most in this trailer is the mounts- SW animals are always so fascinating, it's exciting to see new variety (and in enemies too, I got so sick of shock troopers in the first game lol). I hope the bogling is still in the Mantis and we can actually interact with it, too!
I like how his fighting style is very different from the conventional jedi fighting styles since he pretty much taught himself how to survive since he was a really young padawan
his fighting style is really interesting. i just finished fallen order and i noticed during the fight with trilla at the vault on dagoba he disarms her by deactivating his lightsaber to get out of a blade lock. if i remember correctly it was a very dishonorable move but it was cool to see
@@spoot3613 spot on but I love it, it shows the Jedi after the fall we’re willing to do whatever to defeat the empire. The fact that the epic final show of the trailer appears to be in-game footage of a combo into a smooth animation tells me everything I need to know about how awesome this game is gonna be
After so many failed Star Wars projects, Jedi: Fallen Order was a breath of fresh air. To see it come back with, what looks like, an astounding sequel, I'm just super hyped for this.
Everything in this trailer looks badass. I just hope this one is longer than the first fallen order. Felt like the first one relied on you going back to old planets with new abilities just to look for secrets and shit like that. Just how I saw it tho. Felt like the story wasn't very long. Could have done more with the resistance storyline-maybe made a planet or two where you went to help the fight.
@Oddfather914 that planet was by far the most infuriating one, idk how many times I kept getting lost in the damn ice caves. And Dathomir was definitely pushing it too, only planet I liked was Kashyyk
What an incredible trailer! Lightsaber customization is going to be so insane. Plus, you will get to fight and destroy B1 battle droids, B2 super battle droids, commando droids, IG-100 MagnaGuards, KX-series security droids, and DT-series sentry droids. I'm definitely looking forward to continue Cal Kestis' story in this game.
@@calebstevens9446 I don't think OP meant it as a bad thing The last 10 almost 20yrs after the fall of Lucas arts and shit star wars board meetings for the games mostly said no We went from BF1 and BF2, to two very shitty remakes We went from a game as open and party style as Jedi Knights to not even having a game remotely close to it. If they just remastered jedi knights they would make an absolute killing but I'm sure it was shot down So it's nice to see they are back to saying yes and believing in their product
Would love to see them expand into some clone wars enemies mostly on the separatist sides with droids as fighting hoards of B1 & B2s with perhaps some tanks would be amazing
It was revealed in a game informer article that there's 5 different combat forms. Single blade, double blade, two single blades, single blade with cross guard, and lightsaber+blaster. Sounds amazing.
Most definitely was one of the best!! Been waiting for this sequel for a min, im still stuck in a weird place on the first one 😭😭 I need to go back and play it tho
It looks like dual wielding will be a stance too instead of just an attack, at least I hope. Second lightsaber he force yoinked off his waist at 0:57, not the split hilt
I have a feeling that the crossguard would be his heavy weapon like any dark soul games. His one blade lightsaber is like normal sword, dual welding blade is like assassin blade, weak but mobile, 2 bladed lightsaber would be like a staff, and the cross guard would be his heavy sword
@@aston-elson-family3412 makes sense, although it seems a bit strange to have weak dual wielding blades as some of the strongest attacks in fallen order were the dual ones.
@@omlettechefarmstrong1889 eh, just my opinion Mr Armstrong. I could be wrong about duel welding part, but hopefully I am mostly correct, just few tweeks
Oh and at the end of the trailer, the crossguard lightsaber seems to be heavy, but I could be wrong about that. And the running part with the dual lightsaber blocking the laser bullets seems like very fast mobile to me, so I assumed it's like assassin class, weak but fast attack and high mobility
The great thing about the Original Trilogy setting is that the Rebellion is made up of lots of different, somewhat isolated groups, meaning we can have stories like this and like the Bad Batch and so on without it interfering with the continuity of the films or not having to force cameos down our throats.
One of the few AAA game trailers at the Game Awards that actually showed gameplay, and it's obvious why, because the gameplay looks incredible, and super polished. Respawn are one of the only developers I like at EA. Keep up the great work!
I really hope you start with all the fight abilities you finished with at the end of the first game and go on to unlock even greater ones in the new game!
@@saiyanroyalty229 I mean providing they’ve thought up new moves they should recycle the original as your entry Cal for you to grow him to a whole nother level of Jedi! Ultimately that is his story, so fingers crossed they’ve got this right 🙏🏻
As a non starwars fan, I loved the first game, combat was great and a blast to master, story was good, gameplay never got tidious and the unlock skill tree system was simple and fair. I hope this game lives up to the first.
Yeah the combat was quite dynamic and challenging so it never got repetitive. Always felt like there was several different ways you could approach a fight and there was a decent variation in enemy types. Only thing I disliked was the new game plus which didn’t let you keep your skills and abilities since learning them was so ingrained in the story.
IMO, Fallen Order was easily the best Star Wars game of the past decade. Yeah it had flaws, but as long as one didn't just go in expecting Jedi Knight IV, it was definitely an enjoyable ride. Certainly hyped for this game too!
I didn't know this was even a thing coming out, and now I'm insanely stoked, especially since I've started replaying the Fallen Order this week, and was wishing there was a sequel to play. March is going to be lit.
ikr like i can't wait for what's next i really hope they create a Mandalorian battel royale game where you get to create a character as what which faction you want to be jedi, unaligned, or part of the empire via sith or trooper and with free range to switch between factions which includes you being able to be a Mandalorian
Same here. Hope she didn't die offscreen Also hope they flesh out her relationship with Cal more and hopefully get them in a romantic relationship because it was set up perfectly in the last game
And so underused! She joins our team and just a little later the story ends. I was hoping that the sequel would flesh out a possible relationship between Cal and her (be it platonic or otherwise), but from the looks of it, it won't. Which is a shame.
I think there was a novel supposed to come out that bridges the gap between the first game and the second, the author was also a big fan of Merrin. Also she hinted at romance between Cal and Merrin.
@@Se7nom Well we might see her in the story trailer. Because this is the gameplay reveal, so we still have the story trailer to see if she's in the game. If not, they might be saving her for when we meet her in game.

no, no , no. The worst games are made when before they ship the current game, they already think of the sequel. Just make a good game, don't focus on "trilogy"
In the end of the trailer, Cal's quote saying "As long as we fight, hope survives." is similar to how Cordova said it to BD-1 in the hologram. Shame we barely saw more of him in the first game. Perhaps in Survivor, we might learn more about Cordova from flashbacks or sort.
@Raymond Frederick is this your problem? You call an amazing game in a fantastic universe with interesting charaters bad Just because the main character is ginger?
This game looks so ridiculously good. The villain in this clip has an amazing design. The new abilities look like so much fun. I cannot hold my excitement for this game to finally release!
I have a feeling that part of the main plot is rescuing his crew from FO, so they don't want to spoil that plot point in the trailer :) at least that's my hope, haha. I would be ticked if they're not in the game. They showed the Mantis after all, and Greez wouldn't let Cal fly it unless he's being held against his will 😂

@Tyler Roberts Technically it was either single or double-bladed with a couple special moves where he split the sabers in two. There was no straight up dual wielding combat.

Wow looks like they're adding so many features I wish the first one had: duel wielding, crossguard sabers, even a blaster sidearm. This already looks amazing!!!
This looks really good. Looks like the devs actually tried to fix the issues and shortcomings of Fallen Order. There is finally a dual wielding stance, lightsaber can be used in traversal, there are more force powers to manipulate the enemies, we have a blaster pistol, there are more finishers, more varied opponents and Cal finally has a grapple hook so we can do away with random yellow ropes in the world. I'm actually excited for this. Let's hope the story is good, there are more unique locations to explore and the gameplay offers the ultimate Jedi experience. Fallen Order was really good but IMO it didn't manage to top Jedi Academy when it comes to the pure Jedi fantasy.
I mean, I don't know how you can tell all these by a 2 minutes long trailer, the game would be probably boring if they just copy pasted the moves from the first game, obviously they had to add some extra moves and stuff, but that won't make the game any better. I can tell you it will absolutely be the same like the first episode, with some improved things. Nothing beats Jedi Academy still. I believe it will be as good as the Fallen Order, but not any better.
This looks like its gonna be worth the hype, between new platforming/mobility, awesome looking new combat abilities, well aged and altered character models, and continuing story. I was really disappointed that we didn't get a cameo of Cal in Bad Batch while they were on Braga, or in Book of Boba Fett during the Mandalorian episode where we see the BD unit in the garage on Tattooine. But I really want them to tie this game into the major narrative. He's a living and active fairly high profile free Force user who Vader and the Inquisitors are fully aware of, but he has faced them and survived which should push him to new heights in his abilities.
maybe those cameos were hints of where world locations would be? I for one hope that we get to play on felucia again just as we did in the forced unleashed. it would be cool if they could add it as a throwback to the game
@@SasukeUchiha-dq4wn I wouldn't mind Felucia, it would serve as a replacement for Kashyyk and have great natural freerun elements. I just don't want us to end up on Tattooine.

Hopefully we get to see someone like Mister Bones or R0-GR or just any B1 on your side with their witty banter following you throughout the game. Otherwise I'll still be happy to hear Matthew Wood (Pretty much the dedicated battle droid va) spurting out lines as the lovable yet fierce robots we got grow to love in TCW.
Cal Kestis quickly became one of my fav Jedi. Also, my reason for him not having dual wielding outside of an attack seems to be true. I used to say that Cal only dual wielded for an attack due to his lack of experience in the style. I mean, the dude just started doing it. But now, with some experience, he can use it like an actual style.
Yeah. A lot of Jedi did some basic Jar'Kai as part of their training, but it doesn't seem like Cal ever did. Instead, Master Jaro Tapal taught him his saberstaff style.
@@MCSPARTAN501 Yep. Cal was young when his training "ended". So much so that it took the entirety of the first game for him to become a Knight. While I don't think he will approach Luke levels of strength in the Force, I do see him being one of the most troublesome and dangerous Jedi to fight. I mean, he has the normal saber mode, dual blade mode, dual wield mode, and broadsword mode. If you approach him without proper knowledge, he WILL catch you off guard.

Lifting a heavy boulder would be a feat. That's why someone like jango fett was able to kill several of them as a teenager, still a big feat on his part. But Jedi are still very human and vulnerable. Cal is really determined to have every kind of lightsaber in one. He even figured out a way to make a cross-guard that less likely to injure the user than Kyo Ren's. Maybe in the next game he'll attach a blaster like Ezra's
The removed preorder page implied blasters would be part of gameplay now, so there’s a chance.
@@LtDavidB312 Is Cal specifically using it, or will we have an Atreus-style smuggler buddy hop in to do combos like in 1:20?
Bruh they really gave this man a claymore of weightless light, I know lightsabers have some kind of weight same reason Fallout laser rifles have recoil but still
Grievous: "Such lightsaber would make a fine addition to my collection."
Yeah. This design is also seen in the High Republic Era, cool to see it here.

@@willnicholson18 Pffff, yet we see our main character get a Kylo Ren saber hilt, which means they are linking this with the sequels, which means if Rey will exist in the future you can't really make anyone more OP than her. :P
@@beakwooda.k.aadregallus8788 kylo didn’t invent that saber hilt. That kind of hilt has been around since old republic
@@beakwooda.k.aadregallus8788 I'm pretty sure one of those saber hilts was in rebels too.
@@willnicholson18 I disagree. Because Disney owns it there is no reason to nerf him. He had an amazing character arc his story was beautifully done. While some disagree on his powers I don’t see why Star Wars can’t add him back in some form
@@willnicholson18 After watching this trailer, I'm going to have to disagree. Because Cal is not far from him.
This game looks like a substantial upgrade compared to the original and really seems to double down and expand on what made it awesome. I am excited to play it, and experience the story.
Fallen Order worked so well, I’m glad they went all in, this game deserves. Now….time to replay it.
@@calebstevens9446 same here my friend. I’m gonna replay Fallen Order once I finish up the game I’m currently playing.
I just finished Jedi Fallen Order and this probably one of the only games I will actually spend some money on. That first one just leaves you wanting more and is a throwback to when studios cared about the quality of their games and not just how to monetize their game to maximum efficiency.
This looks like everything I wanted from a sequel and more. Still a bit early to be judging but this looks so promising. We love you Respawn 🙌
@Ryan same here
My guys our boy Cal is back! I'm so excited. What I especially like is that like 90+% of this trailer is just from gameplay. Props to the devs man
I think you need to work on your math
Love it when they don't hide behind cinematic cutscenes, you know they've made a game to be proud of
Can’t wait to play again
The new techniques and force powers really show how Cal grew up. That slowing time thingy will be damn fun to use, can't wait for it!
time slow is in the first
@@jacksonbrown7877no it doesn’t. He freezes people like Kylo Ren in the first, in this case he’s using force speed
@@brandonjenkins723 I'm not entirely sure whether it's force speed or an AoE force slow. Normally I'd agree it looks like force speed, but Cal activates the power in a way that looks more like an effect on the enemies rather than a self buff
@@GutsyViceroy that’s what super speed looks like from their perspective. Everyone is slow. In this case they clearly don’t have the same visual effect of slowing them, because even the blaster bolts are slowed.
@@brandonjenkins723 Cal can slow down time around a person or multiple people in the first game. In this game he can slow down time around him now, that's showcasing how much he's really grown.
I hope nightsister merrin is in this game :) love how they slowly set up what appears to be a love relationship in fallen order
Not gonna lie, I was also really looking forward to that. However, it said in the trailer, he was betrayed by someone he trusted the most. That might've been her. I hope not.
@@The_Fool_Above_The_Sky I hope it wasn't her
@@The_Fool_Above_The_SkyThe person in the bacta tank was the one saying that I’m pretty sure, not Cal
@@dunniofunnio We'll see.
Can’t wait to use the two lightsabers. Also that running deflect was AMAZING
Was my only real gripe for the first game tbh.
@Tyler Roberts Technically it was either single or double-bladed with a couple special moves where he split the sabers in two. There was no straight up dual wielding combat.
How about that "time slow," and using a trooper as a shield AND making him fire at his squadmates? This seems like "MUST BUY" situation...
The way he used the force to grab the storm trooper and used him as a shield while running was absolutely god like wasn't expecting that at all then the 360 move like what's next man can't wait for this
I hope you actually can but they only showed him deflecting and and him doing one move with them the rest of the video he's with a single one I'm not getting my hopes up on it tbh, I need to see more gameplay with them to confirm
Played through the first on a pc and then series x after it was updated to 60fps. What a great game. Three times through when I hardly finish most games. I explored every inch of the worlds as they were so dynamic and varied. Battles rewarded patience. Compelling characters and story. My most anticipated game next year and I can’t believe I am saying that with Breath of the Wild 2 coming not long after!
Since i was a kid I have always wanted to be Jedi. Thank you all for giving me the opportunity in your great game Fallen Order! Once i got the learning curve of the combat down it makes me feel Jedi. Im on at least my ninth play-through! The story is fantastic, the exploration 2nd to none in my opinion and i cant wait for Survivor to drop! If it happens to be as good as Fallen Order i will be sinking a lot of hours into playing and replaying a most excellent Star Wars game. Thank you! P.S. I still have 3 BD-1 skins to unlock from your combat challenge mode. “Do or do not. There is no try.”
I love how it shows he’s more experienced in battle now. How he’s still learning and getting stronger. Great job 👏🏻!!! Can’t wait to play this one!
Ugh, I’m so ready. Love cal and this looks like they upgraded every aspect. Fallen order was such a surprising gem
Definitely buying this. Eno Cordova's story was so captivating in the first game.
@Jo Cole Very eccentric and very unique. I can't pick my favorite Jedi master from between him and Obi Wan Kenobi
@Jo Cole I cried like a 9 year old girl when he said "no...failure is not the end, it is a necessary part of the path. Hope will always survive in those who continue to fight, like you BD-1."
@Jo Cole I am so glad to talk with a great fan, like you, of this great game
Wow the lightsaber modes are cool, we have dual lightsabers now and a cross guard mode which must be a kind of greatsword lightsaber thing, I’m so hyped for this
This looks amazing. New characters, new techniques, and new lightsaber. Soo ready to play this the minute it comes out.😊
I’m so pumped for the new game mechanics!
The dual wielding looks amazing!
fr im so tired of game sequels that barely add new things or improvements.
The game looks insane, wow! Sad the Mantis crew have gone their separate ways but the story looks so interesting and it already raises so many questions
why did the mantis crew go seperate ways? They were all good friends on the ship together at the end of the first game.
@@revemb4653Yeah, I’m sure it’ll be explained in the story. Ceres the only member who appears in this trailer so it’s all up in the air if Greez is dead and Merrin has gone back to Dathomir or is hiding out somewhere like Tatooine
@@CharlieJones-yk6rs my personal prediction is that the game starts with Cal and BD-1 and the story will reveal more and more what happened to the crew as the game goes on. Ceres obviously in hiding gathering intelligence on the order by the looks of her hideout and maybe Greez has been caught by Bounty Hunters explaining their return to the game. Merrin could also be the one caught by bounty hunters since the last remaining Nightsister would be very valuable to anyone, especially The Empire.
I would unfortunately feel though that Greez is the most likely one to die. I can’t explain why he would willing leave the Mantis to Cal otherwise
I hope the old crew does return. I think the opening section of the game might be about the Mantis crew being split up.
@@jarmoliebrand2005 me too. I think maybe they’ll explain their split up during Cals quest to get them back together. Imagine he needs their help to do something big
As long as we fight, hope survives ❤️
Wow looks like they're adding so many features I wish the first one had: duel wielding, crossguard sabers, even a blaster sidearm. This already looks amazing!!!
I like how these new features are added in as cal is growing stronger.
dual
He has a blaster?
Not to mention that the cross guard one channels it into extra reach
there were dual sabers in the first one if im not mistaken. honestly, crossguard is meh, but everything else aside from the frame rate is lookin good
This looks really good.
A couple of fellow Jedi Academy fans. Nice.
The Force unleashed and Jedi Academy are still at the top. Fallen Order was incredibly meh. So much wasted potential, it really hurt.
and not a poncho to be seen 😅
If we can weave melee and blaster combos together like its DMC this is gonna be my favorite star wars game of all time
This looks incredible, the attention to detail is absolutely INSANE. This has the potential to be the best star wars game EVER. So excited!
Let’s relax, wouldn’t be better than kotor or a kotor remake
Definitely not, Kotor and Kotor 2 are miles better than any other Star Wars game.
Looking at this trailer now, I'm very glad I didn't watch it before playing the game. Nothing but surprises
I just want to play in Umbara.
@@mikasa_Ackerman115 That would be great, its such a cool looking world and would make a great replacement for Dathomir and Kashyyk.
@@Sumguyinavan_ It would be the replacement for Dathomir, since it is a dark and aggressive environment

Seeing the new B1 black series figure for this game, the Magna Guards, and the BX commandos really makes me hope to see those good ol' battle droids again.
@@machine1685 canonically speaking, he's also a budding talent that got let loose and had to learn the hard way in a harsh world. unbound by tradition, free to develop. if he survives, he's going to be a force to reckon with, even without space magic.
One of the best Star Wars games of recent times with a great atmosphere. I'm waiting for it
Kal has so many different quirks to his lightsaber he can use it one blade, staff mode, cross guard mode, and he has a small Tonto style he uses occasionally.
STAFF!? HES TOO OP
@@GalexyHunterr Star killer was OP, Darth Vader is OP. Cal is above average.
@@Filterdeez Which I think is for the best in terms of narrative and gameplay. I wonder if there is going to be more build variety and maybe not all of these are available at the same time.
@@GalexyHunterr cal is basically the average Jedi but he is more resourceful and creative. He has to be since all he has is unfinished Padawan training. Which makes him more badass. When showing the main big hitters we think Jedi for the most part are unstoppable. But for the overwhelming majority of them that just want the case. Their force powers were simple. Lifting a heavy boulder would be a feat. That's why someone like jango fett was able to kill several of them as a teenager, still a big feat on his part. But Jedi are still very human and vulnerable. That's what makes cal compelling.
Looks awesome, loved the first. Three caveats I'm hoping for... Better graphical performance, Fewer slide sequences, and Cal Kestis making a live action appearance in the Disney Star Wars universe!
The themes of hope and of "throwing a light into the future" are some that hit me hardest. Loved the first game, and it looks like I'm gonna love this one too!
