I'm an amateur but been riding for years and got myself 2 top high end bmxs brand new this year hand picked every part, and I'll still probably get some more and more just cause I'm hooked on the game plus top of the range stuff lasts forever so I'm planning to ride these bikes with my kids too😂😂😂
I bought a Subrosa Tiro L. And changed rims, tyres and handlebar and steam. Then i realized a 20,75 TT was just a hair to long for me (5ft7) so i bought a Kink tactic frame 20,5" - When i look at my bike now, all i have from the Subrosa Tiro L is the Rant brakes =D My son has the rest of the parts (mainly) on his Mirraco Edit frame

I tried my sons 20,5 Mirraco and felt "a bear on a circus" even though am only 5ft7 - So i bought a brand new Subrosa Tiro L for $278 (2022 model). But we never really liked each other the heavy frame and i. I really tried to get lighter parts for the Tiro. But it didnt work. I have a BSD fork on my Kink frame :D the Acid fork. I kinda like the 30mm offset. Fun fact i didnt realize untill now. My bike is a replica (kinda) of the Mafia Kush 2 (black/gold). I even put a gold spacer under steam. I saw now that they've done the same.... oh well, it is what it is i guess
There are a ton of great used bikes on FB marketplace. I scored a perfect condition Sunday Ex for 300$. Seems like people that bought bikes during covid are realizing its not for them and selling.
My adrenaline junkie daughter is about to get her first real bmx bike. Is there a frame geometry I could trick her into choosing that may not be optimal for her size but would serve the purpose of effectively forcing her towards developing a "relatively safer" style of riding? Like can I oversize her top tube, stand over, fork offset, and chainstay and basically handcuff her trick choice into only the very very basics? 😂
Instead of trying to kill her drive why not just make sure she has what she wants and teach her that pads are her best friend. You sound like a shitty parent trying to limit her capabilities.

i picked the mongoose pro, i wanted the elite, but it was double the price, so i was like nar, i just want a affordable light weight cruiser.

I started on a tiro as well, Lime green frame and tires. I then moved the parts to a BSD sureshot frame.

i got my frame + everything besides a rear wheel and tire for $350 like new on FB marketplace. the guy put the bike together but never rode it
