I'm trying to build a 2 stage hydraulic cylinder for an RC car. I built this hydraulic cylinder using PVC pipes and some other materials as shown in the video and some hand tools. 3:09 Nice, but inner cylinder rod and head should be sealed to each other, too. Otherwise oil will leak along the rod.

He has no fluid reservoir. He's filling the pvc with air. Since it's lubed with oil or whatever it'll hold air like a flat tire.

If you could make hrydralic rams work.... on a gravity weighted... two way system... instead of a pump. Perhaps using some mechanical gears.

I am referring to fixed applications.
As you know .... hydraulic rams have many many uses.
But being able to drive the hydraulic rams without electricity or having to run a motor ....has alot of appeal.
Also saves alot of money.
We have easy access to, and abundance of water, even rain water
If you know anything about gravity & header tankers for water supply & the pressure one can create through water. To create a water system with head pressure, driving some drive gears ....to power your hrydralic pump. Instead of being dependant on electricity or combustion motors ...
would not only get alot of folks excited . It would turn alot of money
Obviously the more adaptable & portable this suggested system is the greater the demand it would have.
