    Can't read the "fine print" on the guages.
    Can't tell what numbers are what.

    Being low on juice cause the first evap to starve and I think that’s why it was running warmer. The epr on the case was set dead on.

    Looks like a pretty nice installation. Piping and insulation looked great. I would think that set up should work. You should be able to prevent the temp in the reach in from dropping too low by proper adjustment of the EPR.

      Yes, the EPR has been doing it’s job so far. It is just when it was low on charge it messes up. Pol

    Nice one!! I miss that type of work (I'm stuck doing a.c. stuff and some ice machine action sometimes)

    Must be a good size leak....

    Why you don't search for leak first then charge system?

    You cant really go off the outer parts of the evap coil to see if its clean. Low pro evap coils suck air in where fans are and blows out towards product/outer walls of walk-in box

    • @rookierefrigeration4357
      @rookierefrigeration4357  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Cole Herndon yes. I agree. But you could see some indications of ice. Usually these stores don’t get iced up coils.

      Rookie Refrigeration yeah true i hate havin to thaw that style coil out. But good work on it bud alot if people dont realize they pull from center thats why i added that in there

    • @rookierefrigeration4357
      @rookierefrigeration4357  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Cole Herndon yup. I actually have a video coming out that I mention that exact problem. Thanks for pointing that out.

    I mostly do restaurant refrigeration, what shuts of the cond unit on this one? I didnt hear you meantion a thermostat. All i know i bout epr is that it maintain a constant evap pressure. Thanks bro

    • @rookierefrigeration4357
      @rookierefrigeration4357  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The E2 controller shuts off the solenoid Based on box temp and the condenser will shut off on low pressure.

    How come you don’t use your smans that much? I’m thinking about getting a set but also thinking about just getting the wireless probe set.

    • @rookierefrigeration4357
      @rookierefrigeration4357  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Honestly, I use my probes 95% of the time. When I need to add gas I just use my Analogs. The SMAN really only go on single systems and I really don’t touch them much. Lol. Somehow I became a rack guy 😂😂😂

    • @colingilland3454
      @colingilland3454 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah, all my work is supermarket work. Mostly pack systems with loads of integral cabinets to boot. I’m not sure what route to go down. I prefer looking at gauges but this will be my first digital setup as have always used analogue. The only thing that puts me of the probes is keeping enough charge in my phone/iPad 😆

    Like your magnetic thermometer what’s the make and part number?

  • @cthompson658

    Leave the ORI in the small case. You have better temperature control with that than a stat and solenoid. Glide etc. ORI is set and the temp is good. it won't freeze and it's only beer.
    Check your ORI first for a leak. I have changed a crap ton of those either leaking from the body or thru the adjustment area.
    Another suggestion, shine your flashlight into the return of the coil. You'll be surprised at how much crap gets stuck to the inside of the coil.

    In the uk we cant add gas to a system that is leaking before fixing it easy way shut down the unit equalize the system and get the electronic leak detector out

    Target stores are usually okay to work on. That setup they have is dumb as hell. Did your boss end up wanting to put in a new separate solenoid and a electric epr? All I know is Walmart is much worse. At least you can contact FMOC or EMC for technical support.
