- 4WD was not engaging on my series Land Rover, so in this video I investigate why this was. If you're having similar problems with your Landy then maybe this video will help you to identify where the problem may be.

Spring has sprung! 19° Celsius or 65° Fahrenheit in New Orleans! Best of luck in locating decent springs!
Oh wow. I've forgotten what those temperatures feel like 🙈 can't wait to have some sunny days. Jamie
Looking forward to the next part of this 'work in progress'!
Coming very soon 😁😁
Skip the hub lockers they are a waste of money, don’t add measurable efficiency and are a weak point that breaks. Just go back to your original drive flanges/hub.
All they do is disconnect the hubs from the half shafts which isolated those and differential gears from turning. But they do so by adding weight and complexity which negates any advantage. Furthermore they keep the gears from turning in the gear oil bath evenly, which if you don’t routinely use 4wd will make it more likely that things will get gummed up.
I have heard pros and cons for hub lockers. I don't think the added weight is a problem and you could also argue that you don't drive a land rover for fuel efficacy. I also think if you regularly engage 4wd then at least the front axle etc get some use . I probably wouldn't have fitted them maybe if my Rover hadn't previously had them installed. Hi Jamie, maybe have a local spring maker make a copy using your good spring from the other side, or even two and replace both? If you decide to sell them, you'll get more for full a working set too.
Hello there. Thanks for your comment. I think I will see if spare parts are still available from the manufacturer but I have already rectified the problem which will be in a future episode. Thanks so much for watching. Jamie
Timelapse 💪
I spoil you!!!!! 🤣
