Those Bandits, in the beginning, are lucky that it was Goku they were trying to rob because if Goku was Vegeta in that situation, they wouldn't exist anymore.

@@simple_playz no, Ki users always enlighten themselves by Ki in order to reduce damage to their skin. In this instance, this shows that even masters of ki control can sometimes slip up and potentially let their guard down in these incidents. If you aren't always keeping your Ki barrier up, then you could possibly be grazed by something like metal or basic human objects.

the bullet hurting goku is meant to show hes getting rusty but honestly that should still do nothing logically lol. dbs powerscaling is weird sometimes cus even in og dragon ball he was taking bullets when he was off his guard and was pretty much fine
Yeah, and tbh, he was more on guard here than in OG Dragon Ball. In OG Dragon Ball, he was just thinking "who is this goblin coming out of the beast" and stayed immobile till Bulma shot him. Here, he actually noticed the guy trying to shoot him and countered the bullet. So the "letting his guard down" excuse doesn't even work.

Super is weird because it actually started airing the anime at the same time the Super manga started being released, but the anime overtook the manga because they were getting the story told to them by Akira Toriyama in advance, so the manga and anime are actually quite different as Toriyama changed his mind about things about the story and fights AFTER the anime already covered the events.
A big example that comes to mind is that Goku actually tries to use Hakai against fused Zamasu after he saw Beerus do it to his universe's Zamasu (this plays into Goku's fight IQ and has been a thing since the original Dragonball, he learned how to do the Kamehameha after watching Master Roshi do it ONCE), and it nearly worked, but Goku couldn't pull it off properly and the technique failed because he's not a destroyer god.
With Super you kind of have to treat the anime and manga as 2 separate canon's because of how many changes there are, but by this point in the story I'm pretty sure the anime was still WAY ahead of the manga
it is Toyatoro who writes and draws the DBS manga, all that Toriyama does is give the main plot points of the story to Toei Animation and Toyatoro and leaves it up to them to figure out how they get there

It makes no sense that they would try to say goku is getting rusty by showing him take damage from a bullet

Vegeta staying there and waiting for Bulma to give birth is a sign of his character development from Z. If I remember, when Bulma was pregnant with Trunks, I think Vegeta had went to space to train before he was born because he wanted to surpass Goku before he got back from Namek.

No matter how much goku suprssed his power at this point in time he should never get hurt by a bullet even when he's asleep.

Goku was shot by a laser gun during his fight against freeze due to again him dropping his guard.

Aimin, about the time gap in the plot, since Bulma is expecting a child "any day now" as Vegeta said, we can safely estimate around 9 months have passed since the previous episode. I hope that gives you a better perspective. :D

This episode also did a good job reminding you who and what Beerus is. He is still a ruthless God of destruction that has existed for eons. And he is more than willing to erase anyone even goku because the amount of time he has influenced his life is insignificant in comparison to how long he has been a destroyer.
The same concept applies to Xeno as well. I mean they were playing planet chess so that speaks volumes

Goku getting hurt by the bullet is normal. He could most likely get shot with the right bullet even. Goku usually surrounds himself with basically ki armor, so when his guard is down, he's very vulnerable

Contrary to what we usually see goku and everyone else for that matter do with their power, we gotta keep in mind that their power is all from ki manipulation, while saiyans may be more biologically stronger and better at ki than humans if goku lets his guard down he can be damaged even by bullets
But in original dragon ball, kid goku didn’t take much damage, if not then no damage from a bullet, and that was before ki. Now, his body should be too strong for a bullet even without a ki barrier
