Great review, all necessary information and Facts. Well done
8:34 got someone's attention
yes the blonde.
We own a 2023 Lexus NX450H+ and a Citroen C3 as our second car. We expected to buy a small EV but we are very disenchanted with the idea of EV (we love the plug in 450H+ however as a compromise). We have test driven the LBX and have ordered the Sports Luxury 4WD in Red and black for delivery in August at Maroochydore, Queensland. Our grandchildren will say it is cramped in the back but we are giving one grandchild the C3 and 3 other new small cars to them over the next 2 years (probably Kias) so we will have the last say. We are holidaying in NZ at the moment. Lexus collected our car at the Brisbane airport and will deliver it back to the airport on our return, free of charge, having given it an annual service. We are impressed with Lexus service.
Waiting for the Morizo RR Concept!!!!
Ordered the Sport Luxury 2WD in sonic chrome
Ordered the Cool (Highest trim in Germany) in Yellow :) Cant wait for it until august :(
Hello there. Which bi tone color combination do you think goes better with the LBX? Sitting on the fence between sonic white (pearl) with black roof or the sonic copper with the black roof. What do you think? This is highly appreciated. Btw your review was excellent!
Here's a motivation for getting the AWD: it's got independent rear suspension instead of the torsion beam. How much that matters is on you
I'm in this car niche. Perfect for what I want in a daily.
Agree, it is elegant, and while based on the same chassis as the Yaris Cross definitely has a nice ambience to it.
I have test driven it twice (UK market). I liked it and so did the kids initially, but after trying the Volvo EX30 (Full electric) the kids both said they felt cramped in the back. My wife said it felt very small, and she is 5 foot! Its a lovely car, the kit is great but all the above is as important, space and comfort.
Is the EX30 not even more cramp? Seen some video previews and also seemed quite cramp.
@@RayTayBan it isn't the biggest i would agree but they have made better use of the space available. It feels spacious and open, likely because they can do away with lots of the things a normal car needs. The ride was much better as well.
EX30 is cramped. Shame the LBX is too!! The world is moving towards sharing and these ones are taking us backwards to 2-seater cars!!!
Beautiful car
The carry-on about the rear legroom is a bit rich. It's primarily a SMALL local runabout, so I'd be happy to sit in the rear quarters as the seats were said to be quite supportive.
The hard plastic rear door trim is a compromise that I'd accept, but the lack of rear air vents is unfathomable. 🙄
Thanks. About the back seat space, always state your height so that viewers can have a framework for assessment and comparison. But it seems a cramped car and this is why competitors like the Honda Jazz beats it.
You didn't mention the sound system? Any Mark Levison option?
Only on sports luxury. 13 speakers
Cooled seats too?
Looks like the AC200 Series Yaris Cross. Which miles ahead of the car that we get here.
Ultimately :)
The prices quoted in this video are pure fantasy. The base model starts at $54958 drive away and the 4wd starts at $64, 873. It's simply not enough car to justify the asking price.
Good to know this 1.5L three banger only gives out 89 hp without its turbos. While easily taking 300 in the GR Corolla, what an absolute unit of an engine.
Those are 2 totally different engines. There is new LBX Morizo edition coming which is based on engine you mentioned.
:O oh my that actually sounds amazing@@SOMEONE-ME
If the base model were well below $50K drive away it would be a good buy but $53-$55K drive away is overpriced
You don't get a spare wheel? When did that become a thing
Cute car
Very expensive but very nice looking
I'm choosing between ux and LBX. Please give me your opinion. Please 🙏
LBX is more for the city and can manage longer trips if you need it but if you do longer trips more often go for the ux, a softer suspension, more power and a queter more effortless engine in the ux
You can't hear an eCVT. I find that motoring reviewers really don't understand the Lexus / Toyota hybrid eCVT system.
it's not CVT like normal belt-driven CVT, it's more like a normal AT but instead of a torque converter, it's 2 MG working together to make torque output smooth
wow did the capped price go up, it was 495 last i checked lol
It was $495 on UX 3 years Capped, now it’s $595 capped for 5 years on UX LBX
Unfortunately everything is going up. That being said, with 15 thousand km intervals that isn't too bad.
Why call this a SUV? It's a hatchback. I don't get the idea of calling everything a SUV now. According to FORD the definition of a SUV is "An SUV is a Sport Utility Vehicle. Powered for performance, an SUV should stand up to tough conditions and harsh environments, without compromising on interior comforts.". This Yaris (Strike) Lexus does not qualify being called a SUV. It does not "perform", it will most like not survive tough conditions and its small therefore compromising comfort.
It is a hatchback with an SUV'ish design. My guess it just sounds more appealing, given how popular SUVs are (despite being a rather terrible trend). It's the same reason cars would be called "Compact SUV" or "Crossover SUV". This is marketing 101, it just sounds more desirable if it has a silly name as opposed to calling it was it is, a compact, fuel-efficient city commuter.
Marketing - which are really just 20 year olds fresh from college and tick tok.
Don’t worry about it.
Who gives a fuck what Ford said
Raised hatchbacks and raised sedan are getting called as suv these days... 😂
A nice small car for the CBD
No rear vents in top grade is not forgivable in a Lexus
Lexus AU really underoffers their customers with the LBX, less trims, no options for interior color (even NZ market has hazenut interior), no option for monotone (blackroof is a nay for many people). AWD for what? People buys car like this not to race. Should have offered the above for a so-called luxurious small suv.
Expensive shopping cart
Unequal cylinder engines I always avoid.
It is a very smooth sales pitch video. Knowing this is a hard sell TNGA variant, any reviewer who was given the autonomy might try to compare / contrast any other vehicle that are less boring than a Yaris. My 3 cylinder CVT vehicle has better power / torque, .....,nevertheless, was thirty thousand cheaper, at least. Yet, back seat leg rooms are also better. Its an insult to the name SUV, knowing the amount of passenger leg room. We all witnessed Yaris in highways, so I am not going to mention this powertrain is a even tougher sell to highway users. Should I decide to get a TGNA vehicle, this video is a good explanation of what my nerest dealers will be telling me. May be, an independent reviewer can just mention this as the luxury version of your Yaris then we can save everybody 10+ minutes of back and forth video of beating around the Yaris.😂
I’m sure if you click around long enough you’ll find someone who will give you your pre-determined opinion - the fact is that aside from similar performance and economy, the LBX doesn’t feel much like a Yaris Cross at all. Ripping out the entire interior and replacing it is a pretty good way to get started.
$600 a service for first 5 years….
What people need to realise when buying a hybrid is unless you plan to drive it over about 200,000km, you wont be saving any money on fuel because you've already spent it on the cost of the hybrid system.
Toyota and Lexus hybrids tend not to depreciate as fast though.
5 years and unlimited km warranty? Dafuq?
I wouldn't buy a car with a black roof. Dumb in Australia.
Olek, slow down a bit mate. Take a breath!
Every second word is ultimately 😂😂
No, every second word is "now".
Now, naturally, ultimately i find this car , a bag of premium shite, get a Yaris GR
Is this dude tiny or what because ths car looks big in front of him
It's just a Yaris Cross with lipstick. And a $15,000 price hike.😊
Like every Lexus vs Toyota :) I assume you did not seat in any of those 2 mentioned as they are day and night :) Also for driving.
Not just visual changes, lots of physical changes too. Lexus being a fancy Toyota is a feature, not a problem.
@@rasmusansin3273 People don’t get it. They think it’s bad thing when in reality it’s a strong advantage. Also those comments come from those who never drove any of them, so just empty words.
This car is so overpriced in Japan it's absurd. Cheap pressed steel in the underbody parts a reskinned Yaris. Lexus try to convince you they're premium... and whilst they are in service they are not in product.
Someone really need to start giving the information about the size of the seats. Not all seats are equal, in any terms. They all differ in size especially. I have a Lexus IS and the front seats are SHORT. It's a compact sedan, nobody expects SHORT seats. I expect this tini-tiny "SUV" to have much shorter seats than those in a larger SUV. And it's OK, but it should be a PUBLIC information. There's no way a Yaris based car can be comfortable. Maybe for the Japanese, not for an average Caucasian.
I would expect this would be a comfortable city car as this was designed with Europe in mind. Though this would not be as comfortable as a larger suv or sedan as this is meant to be a smaller package
The Seat is one brand not available in Australia.
I would like a standard measurement length of the seat base for every model both front and back seats.
@@robertbruce2182 smaller in terms of room is expected. Smaller in terms of the size of the seats, especially the lower portion - that's unexpected and nobody would like to lack on that. The lower, the seating portion is too short on my IS. As if it was meant for shorter persons. That's why I said - someone needs to measure the seats and make a table that compares that to other equally priced cars. I bet this car is not comfortable and not to mention its price is way, way too outrageous!
@@brianiswrong exactly, on point.
Price differential between this car and Yaris Cross is totally unacceptable.. Buyers are being duped.....its a Yaris Cross on hormones, nothing more.....
Please stop starting every paragraph with the word 'now'
No turbo. No thankyou.
Too slow 🐌
Looks like another Toyota .
😡🤑🤑🤑 TO EXPENSIVE WASTE OF MONEY 🤑🤑🤑🤑🤑🤑😡
Nice car , but would anyone pay that amount for it.
Probably cashed up women buyers.
Tiny back seat😂
Looks like a Toyota inside and out, and not in a good a way.
For wood ducks prepared to pay even more. Poor value, LBX (Losers Bad Crossover)
We have an NX450H+ ( 12 months old ) and we have been looking for a car to replace our Citroen for supermarket shopping. We have ordred the LBX AWD model for delivery in August (red with a black roof - we will have it wrapped and ceramic coated). The annoying thing about having a European and Asian car is the turn indicators being on opposite sides. In our late 70s, we want a car that we can just slide in and out of. We also like the idea of having exactly the same instrumentation. This car will do 7,000 km per year and our 450 will do 10,000km. Because we have a very substantial solar PV system with batteries, it makes sense for us to drive the plug-in hybrid 450 most. We did expect to buy an EV as our second car but, with the very low fuel consumption of the LBX, this purchase makes more sense. We are also mindful of the fact that we might want to quit our big home and go to an apartment where EV are difficult to say the least.
