I just left Dental design and I have the money to get porcelain veneers but I chose to get Composite resin veneers. I actually love my smile. I’ve gotten so many compliments. Most say it looks so natural like I only got my teeth whitened. Only time will tell how long they will last before I’ll have to go back for upkeep. Until then I’ll be smiling big with confidence.😁
I’m a licensed general dentist and this man is telling the truth. I rarely do cosmetic dentistry, actually I can count on one hand how many times I have. I always tell my patients nothing beats the teeth God gave you.
Maybe you're just not a good dentist. Unfortunately, sometimes illnesses, certain medications, and accidents don't allow some of us to hold on to the teeth God gave us, and you, being a "licensed general dentist, should know that. The only real difference between the two is the cost, and the best thing about the composite resin is you don't need to disfigure or sacrifice your "God-given teeth" to have them, and the resin can be removed without again damaging said teeth. I have composite restoration, and they are smooth, look and feel natural; they are beautiful.

As myself a dentist let me tell you .... if you have the cash go for porcelain veneers but nowadays so many cosmetic dentist could do a beautiful natural looking composite veneer at a cheaper rate just gotta find the right one

Man, I am SO GLAD I found your video, sir. I'm pretty conscious about having a great smile, about a month ago I had a very small chip on one of my front teeth while I'm in Arizona for the winter and away from my regular dentist back home. Went to a local dentist who's reputable down here, she tried talking me into doing 2 veneers on my two front teeth. My gut was telling me don't do it, I have 8 doctors in my family, one being my father and one being my brother. Keep your natural teeth at all cost as they tell me. Called my dentist back home whom I've been with for 9 years. She said don't do it, wait until you get home and we'll do a small filling that'll match up perfectly and not remove natural enamel or grind down a perfectly healthy tooth.
He is absolutely right, I removed my composite resin veneers in May this year, DO NOT BE FOOLED! They look great in pictures and on Instagram but in real life as he said they have no translucency, they end up looking big because they’re thicker than the porcelain ones and there’s no shave so they end up looking bulky, be especially mine full of this if you have a over or a underbite.

Wish I saw this before I started my teeth journey but hopefully others will take this all into consideration & can avoid this situation! I went to Mario Montoya in hopes to get porcelain after 10 hours of traveling and my time wasted he wants to say it’s all fake what he send me and it’s actually only 100% compost for 7500 and 15k for 100% porcelain after saying I’d have 80% porcelain that was first main red flag so he said there wouldn’t be no damage to my teeth I started the process even after they lied and once I got my cleaning the lady chipped my tooth.. a lot of it is just for the looks and media I wouldn’t go as far as damaging perfect healthy teeth for asthetic I looked into it even after care if I want to get new resin they would shave some of my real teeth out so I’m flying back tomorrow depressed and disappointed but I’m glad I only chipped one instead of messing up my entire teeth

I have beautiful teeth, the problem I had was that my teeth were so yellow I didn’t like the color. I got my smile designed a few days ago. I’m loving the results, although I’m having issues flossing and I’m so afraid of them changing colors that I’m washing them as soon as I finish eating or drinking coffee. I don’t know if that’s right though . Am I going to damage them for over cleaning them ?
That‘s why I would just get composite bonding. They put multiple layers of a cristaline/Polymer on your tooth and harden it with light. Over time (depending on your lifestyle) they can change color, so new layers are needed but not a big problem.
Of all the advice i've seen given on these youtube videos, yours was the best. "keep your natural teeth, there is no going back with either of these veneer types". Get aligners, whiteners, and keep what you've got. The maintenance of the veneers seems too much - between the polishing and the chipping. And the more the whole world seems to be jumping on this bandwagon, the less desirable it becomes!
Serious question though… Why would you think that after you got the service provided they would give you a refund and put the credit towards a whole new service? Especially for service like that? Your assessment of composite resin veneers is completely and totally wrong (speaking as a dentist) BUT - I will say this - composite veneers should only ever be performed by those who have extensive training and patients should only ever allow doctors who have legitimate, good photographic portfolios touch their teeth. The reality is most dentists kind of suck at their job and they go through their days putting forth minimal effort with minimal knowledge behind what they do, it’s a shame. I am not the greatest but I push myself to do the best I know how every day.
I also think that there’s this weird fad where people are extracting healthy teeth and getting implants for the sake of esthetics and that’s actually not a good idea. If you have healthy teeth, and can keep those without invasive implants, then you should. Push for top quality veneers, extract at the most wisdom or molars that may cause crowding, and INVEST IN A DENTAL GRADE NIGHTLY MOUTH GUARD. I have seen people in their mid 20s literally pulling perfectly healthy teeth out for implants… no no no. If your dentist allows that, YOU HAVE A BAD DENTIST. Love- a dental hygienist.

if they spent the time and lab work getting your composite veneers then they are in the right and should be compensated because that was an 8 hour procedure for YOUR choice. I have cerec porcelain which is a cheaper way of getting porcelain 5 years going strong

You gets what you ask for. They let you choose the color. But I always thought they rush that part for some reason. Maybe it is because it is not their own personal teeth.
Comosite resins can be personalized too, they are done chairside and the dentist have control on how it will look like. It all depends on the dentist who is doing the procedure. Not saying others dont know what theyre doing, its just reuire skills to make it look ntural like porcelain veneers. And it happens vice versa with porcelain veneers
I agree with durability and better choice of material with porcelain.. but composite veneers like u said in the video its not all the same, it depends on the dentists skills dexterity etc

I can top your experience. I was chatting with the dentist who accepted $6000 cash to prep my gums for implants (a real horror story). I left his office without my $6000, and without regret. I had lost implants during the previous decade. His job was easy just inject some white goop into the gums under sterile conditions. The other dentist-who had sad eyes, had the hardest part of the “job”. He had to watch as his teeny bopper trainee sanded my teeth for composite to “fix” my smile, so it would go with the implants. I wore a series of 3 or 4 flippers for the next 10 years. Then I lost the flipper. Now I will happily settle for new composite veneers. I am so tired of gumming food.I will also need a new flipper, which used to be a gimme or $350. Now, they will want $1000 or more. Also the newly chipped teeth due to the sanding done by the trainee left my smile increasingly needy. All of this would go away if I accept “free” upper denture from a niece who is connected with community do-gooders
This is something I've always wondered about-I have composite on one of my lower canine teeth due to a cavity. I assume it's a similar material to the veneer resin, & I noticed it isn't shiny or as smooth as a real tooth. It doesn't really matter since it's a bottom tooth & no one sees it but I can't imagine having that on my front teeth
did you notice it right after the treatment procedure? if so , you should have told your dentist about it. but if you notice it after several weeks then maybe it's about ur brushing style.
Composite veneers are less dangerous for your natural teeth than porcelaine veneers, where they totally destroy your natural teeth. I advice composite veneers for the people that have damaged teeth because of bruxism… That’s true it doesn’t look « natural » when you take a color much whiter than your natural teeth but it looks ok…
It's a shame that a lot of people are taking the veneer route first. Tip: Exhaust all methods that keep your natural teeth intact first everyone. I'm 31, got braces at 29 b/c I had A LOT of spacing issues. I'm not going to lie, a 1-2 yr commitment of braces isn't easy but they're coming off soon and my natural teeth look great. When they place veneers you're stuck maintaining false teeth for the rest of your life. Also, I'll be uploading progress pics/videos soon if anyone is interested.
@@davidharrow9025 Sometimes if whitening/bleaching doesn't work because of things like fluorosis (I don't know your specific situation, of course) there's an option called microabrasion that works with bleaching systems that isn't invasive like veneers or crowns but does a better job of removing extrinsic stains than whitening alone. Worth at least looking into if you haven't done veneers yet!

You do realize that zirconia veneers look more like “The Mask” teeth, right? They have much less translucency and improve strength but not aesthetics. And implants would require you to extract your natural teeth...so why would you want to do those to replace your porcelain veneers in the future??

I have 4 porcelain teeth in my mouth due to having to get root canals. They were a little pricey but I would never change the quality of what I got in my mouth. I'm thinking about getting my 2 front teeth done because they've chipped over the years

I actually just got my 2nd round of braces put on. I had when I was younger but didn't wear my retainer. I got 10 months left. My insurance paid for most of it. Only came out the pocket $1300.
Truthfully it's not only about having the perfect smile and a quick fix don't fall victim to substations diligently research the best way to sustain and preserve your teeth a healthy mouth will solve the majority of any health related issues in your life
Buy a brand-new Bully Max 2021 Mercedes oh, it will last you longer than a real set of porcelain veneers and it will last you twice that long. In addition when you get tired of it oh, you can give it to one of your kids and the smile on their face will be priceless:-)

Thank you for this video! Going to stick with aligners and over the counter whitening treatments. I don't even like the look of a smile that is TOO white or unnatural, IDK why I was thinking this would be a good treatment for me. I agree that natural is always better.

Your assessment of composite resin veneers is completely and totally wrong (speaking as a dentist) BUT - I will say this - composite veneers should only ever be performed by those who have extensive training and patients should only ever allow doctors who have legitimate, good photographic portfolios touch their teeth. The reality is most dentists kind of suck at their job and they go through their days putting forth minimal effort with minimal knowledge behind what they do, it’s a shame. I am not the greatest but I push myself to do the best I know how every day.

I also think that there’s this weird fad where people are extracting healthy teeth and getting implants for the sake of esthetics and that’s actually not a good idea. If you have healthy teeth, and can keep those without invasive implants, then you should. Push for top quality veneers, extract at the most wisdom or molars that may cause crowding, and INVEST IN A DENTAL GRADE NIGHTLY MOUTH GUARD. I have seen people in their mid 20s literally pulling perfectly healthy teeth out for implants… no no no. If your dentist allows that, YOU HAVE A BAD DENTIST. Love- a dental hygienist.

You are just neat and clean. I love it when a man takes pride in his appearance and hygiene. I don't have any crooked teeth but I got yellowing and stains I hate it. So i guess I just need whitening and cleansed with stain removal. Boy giving up my coffee and tea is going to be crucial but I want my pearly whites back. Me being a woman and a hairdresser it's important too look good I'm always over someone's head and face. Unfortunately, due to covid things have slowed down a lot. I can't afford a dentist so any recommendations on a very good toothpaste for starts?

if they spent the time and lab work getting your composite veneers then they are in the right and should be compensated because that was an 8 hour procedure for YOUR choice. I have cerec porcelain which is a cheaper way of getting porcelain 5 years going strong

You gets what you ask for. They let you choose the color. But I always thought they rush that part for some reason. Maybe it is because it is not their own personal teeth.

Comosite resins can be personalized too, they are done chairside and the dentist have control on how it will look like. It all depends on the dentist who is doing the procedure. Not saying others dont know what theyre doing, its just reuire skills to make it look ntural like porcelain veneers. And it happens vice versa with porcelain veneers
If getting false teeth. I would ALWAYS go with Porcelain Veneers.
I agree with durability and better choice of material with porcelain.. but composite veneers like u said in the video its not all the same, it depends on the dentists skills dexterity etc

I can top your experience. I was chatting with the dentist who accepted $6000 cash to prep my gums for implants (a real horror story). I left his office without my $6000, and without regret. I had lost implants during the previous decade. His job was easy just inject some white goop into the gums under sterile conditions. The other dentist-who had sad eyes, had the hardest part of the “job”. He had to watch as his teeny bopper trainee sanded my teeth for composite to “fix” my smile, so it would go with the implants. I wore a series of 3 or 4 flippers for the next 10 years. Then I lost the flipper. Now I will happily settle for new composite veneers. I am so tired of gumming food.I will also need a new flipper, which used to be a gimme or $350. Now, they will want $1000 or more. Also the newly chipped teeth due to the sanding done by the trainee left my smile increasingly needy. All of this would go away if I accept “free” upper denture from a niece who is connected with community do-gooders

This is something I've always wondered about-I have composite on one of my lower canine teeth due to a cavity. I assume it's a similar material to the veneer resin, & I noticed it isn't shiny or as smooth as a real tooth. It doesn't really matter since it's a bottom tooth & no one sees it but I can't imagine having that on my front teeth
did you notice it right after the treatment procedure? if so , you should have told your dentist about it. but if you notice it after several weeks then maybe it's about ur brushing style.
Composite veneers are less dangerous for your natural teeth than porcelaine veneers, where they totally destroy your natural teeth.
I advice composite veneers for the people that have damaged teeth because of bruxism…

It's a shame that a lot of people are taking the veneer route first. Tip: Exhaust all methods that keep your natural teeth intact first everyone.
I'm 31, got braces at 29 b/c I had A LOT of spacing issues. I'm not going to lie, a 1-2 yr commitment of braces isn't easy but they're coming off soon and my natural teeth look great. When they place veneers you're stuck maintaining false teeth for the rest of your life.

I got mine at 26 and I'm still wearing them almost 3 years later. I dont have any regrets and they're 100% worth it.

Veneers make sense if your teeth are discolored. I got no choice but to get them. I wouldn't get veneers to fix crooked teeth. Braces all the way.
@@davidharrow9025 Sometimes if whitening/bleaching doesn't work because of things like fluorosis (I don't know your specific situation, of course) there's an option called microabrasion that works with bleaching systems that isn't invasive like veneers or crowns but does a better job of removing extrinsic stains than whitening alone. Worth at least looking into if you haven't done veneers yet!

You do realize that zirconia veneers look more like “The Mask” teeth, right? They have much less translucency and improve strength but not aesthetics. And implants would require you to extract your natural teeth...so why would you want to do those to replace your porcelain veneers in the future??

I have 4 porcelain teeth in my mouth due to having to get root canals. They were a little pricey but I would never change the quality of what I got in my mouth. I'm thinking about getting my 2 front teeth done because they've chipped over the years

I actually just got my 2nd round of braces put on. I had when I was younger but didn't wear my retainer. I got 10 months left. My insurance paid for most of it. Only came out the pocket $1300.
Truthfully it's not only about having the perfect smile and a quick fix don't fall victim to substations diligently research the best way to sustain and preserve your teeth a healthy mouth will solve the majority of any health related issues in your life
