I absolutely love this Cavalier, when I see it, I freeze with intense euphoria just looking at it! And that Swindon XE is a beast! I have a 91 Astra GSi Mk3 with the early XE…..boy, what I’d do to have a reverse head swindon engine in it! I’ve always had a passion for the XE engine! I’d also love to have a Cavalier, they’re so smart and cool looking!!
Absolutely fantastic, and from my point of view, I remember watching the best touring car series ever. One of the reasons I bought a cavalier gsi. Such a good looking car and that 20xe.
Me to. I used to go and watch BTCC in my white GSI. I put a 3.0 V6 in in as the 4 pot was to slow and got 285hp from it. Then sold it to buy a house with my ex. 🤣🤣
Around 18 years ago a guy at the local energas depot I use to go to had the rolling shell of the civic type r fn2 touring car the cagework inside was a work of art they moved the driving position to the middle rear for better weight distribution alot of engineering goes into them now how simple they was 25 30 years ago mental
If you watch the racing video part 2 it shows more of the engine but I have also done an in-depth into the Swindon engine which is coming, don’t worry. I wasn’t going to be that close to 4 of them an not have a good poke around 🤣
Great video mt! There’s a lot of changes done to the touring cars compared to standard shells when you really look into them ! All the best on looking after it in the pits ! Good luck
They did but the description in the video isn't 100% correct. Chris Hodgetts ran it in rwd and tested it in 4x4! form in 1990 before it was converted to fwd and became Clelands car in 91 after Allam stacked his car mid season. I seem to remember Cleland saying on a podcast most of the rwd version's transmission was out of a bmw m3.
@@TwinEngineCorsa does really give a good shot of it. Is it in one of the pockets? Because the spare wheel well is still there or is it in tge original location?
What a beautiful thing, lucky fella. Enjoy it brother. ✌
Great memories of the best btcc years off all time imho

The content on this channel is great and keeps getting even better! Thank you
Glad you're enjoying pal
What a beauty!! Love classic touring car series
Heartbreaking when you think how many Astra, Calibri's were binned just to take the engine for some racecar/tuning set up.
Whoaa! It s very interresting to see details about this legend of btcc! Can t wait for part 2 🤤🥰!
Not long left to go😉
I had a cavalier GSI when these were racing round the track back in the day. Lovely to see. Great video pal 👍👍

@@Metal05 don’t.!!!! I had to sell my fiesta rs turbo in 94 to buy a house with my ex too 😢😢
Appreciate that mate👍
Nice video mate. Keep it up. Thanks
Amazing opportunity man, even to be in the presence of that legend would be enough let alone work on it 😁👏
Great video and thank you for give us a look round a classic BTCC car. Roll on Friday video.
Glad you enjoyed the walk around pal👍

Fair play mate
Great video....
Thank you😊
What a cool opportunity. Would have liked you to mention the rocker cover and breather set up and the old school tiny ecu.

Great video!!!!! it's great to see all the details of this race car. are the BBS rims 17´ or 18´?

Great
Initially rear wheel drive? I didn't know that!

Vauxhalls solution to the front arches was much more elegant than some of their competitors. Peugeot just cut theirs
I thought the btcc cars had there engines reverse mounted with the inlet at the front?
I clearly commented to soon 😂 Cleland builds I was thinking of
Later engines where. That’s coming 😉
What’s the bhp of the car?
What's the bhp out of that engine mate ?
230/240
How many ponies has it got pal?
Where is the fuel tank?
Under the car, if you look for the latest video on the cavalier you can see us working on it at Thruxton

Is it even an XE if the tappers don’t rattle? 😂
😂
It's still a cavy and that's it had loads don't no why there shit now
90% of viewers would disagree with you. They were brilliant cars
