I retired from the US military after 22 years of service and I have forgotten the number of times I have heard amazing grace. this is the most powerful version I've ever heard.
1986 I was at a veterans hospital over Christmas with my dad. One night a group came to sing and I was in the small auditorium with a bunch of veterans in their pajamas and we all sang Amazing Grace together. A great memory.
I had this version of Amazing Grace played at my Mother's funeral. Most of my family members are in to country, pop or rap music. And when I played this to my sisters and brothers at the planning of the funeral arrangements, they could not control their emotions. I am a metal and rock guitarist and everyone expected me not to add a song to the funeral playlist. But as people visited the wake, and paid their last respects, every one of them asked me who was singing and playing this version and how to get a copy of it. I simply told them... Dan Vasc.
I had amazing grace played at my moms funeral too. the normal version. I wish I knew about Dan back then My mom would have heard this version from heaven. It was her favorite song, She would sing it around the house sometimes and we would make fun of her. Now Id give anything to hear her sing it around my house. God Bless

Someone may have already said this but since I'm too lazy ATM to check I'll just say here that Dan's metal band is Fearless and currently they don't play live outside Brazil. The harmonica he plays was given to him by his father, who was also a musician, when Dan was 7. His dad passed away a few years ago. Dan did a lovely tribute to him; sorry I don't have that link here. Hunt it down and discover more Dan. You won't be disappointed! Dan's mother was also an opera singer but it took him a while to decide that music was calling him and is actually what he wants to do. He's very honest about his journey. I'm grateful he decided this is the path to follow!!!!

I found Dan Vasc less than 3 weeks ago and can't stop listening to his covers of so many genres of music. I've become a metal fan. I'm hearing songs I didn't know existed 3 weeks ago. What a ride it's been so far. I do listen to this video daily, plus a few new songs and a couple others that blow me away. If you haven't already subscribed to Dan's TH-cam channel, don't waste anymore time. You won't be sorry. It's so trippy to watch all of these reaction channels that I'm familiar with react to Dan Vasc. I forst discovered him when I first tuned into the Friday Night Tights stream a year and a half ago. He made an awesome original song for their intro that instantly hooked me into that show. Been watching that stream every single week since. Then I checked out some of these covers like this one. Also got familiarized with him through the streams of those in that sphere, because he shows up sometimes on the streams. I love the stream he did with Chrissy Mayr, in which he got to talk more in depth of what he likes and what he does and has done.
