I ripped my PS3 collection using Multiman. Here is what I‘ve learned.

Thanks to CFW and Hen, you can install Multiman on your PS§ and rip your Disc games to the internal HDD (or SSD in my case).
Over the last few days, I have been ripping my entire PS3 collection to check if all the discs work. here is what I have learned and the tips I can give you.

You might be able to just FTP into the folders made by MultiMan, take the the 3 folders for the Neptunia games and drag them up a directory, depending on how it's laid out of course but i'm sure you could make it switch to the other games with some shuffling of folders, worst case scenario you'd have to make 3 different installs for it, having each one point to a different "default" game.

For ripping Discs Multiman is good but Webman mod is also great as you don't have to constantly Load Multiman to select a Game, With Webman Mod you can directly Choose any games from the XMB Main Menu after you have backed them up into your HDD through Multiman.
And yeah, great point you bring up about ripping the discs also serve as a double-check whether the disc is completely functional or not. So yeah, Ripping discs not only backs up the games but you can also check whether the disc will properly work or stop-midway.

your under estimating ps3 cfw you dont need a back wards compatible ps3 anymore if you have that you can back up your disc on ps2 as well

Not every PS2 game will work the total amount that would work are maybe 30-35% amount of PS2 games(and that's including games with minor issues like FMV Cutscenes Stuttering or out of sync audio)

@@wanderingsoul621it’s a lot higher than that. It’s around 70 percent playable through emulation with available configuration files for them. Still nowhere near as good as the BC consoles though

For multidisc did you rip the game as an iso, or did you rip it as a jb format ?
Jb format is a file format, where as iso is disc image sometimes you have to rip the game as a file format and this is also true for multidisc games it’s better to rip it as a file format aka file format.

Hey! I've been wanting to do this for a long time, but Im afraid I'll get banned or locked out of syncing trophies. Did you have any issues regarding this?

I've done it with every game I own with 3 exceptions that didn't work. I can tell you with 100% certainty that you will not get banned or punished in any way for backing up and playing your games on an almost 20 year old console that has since had two new generations. Sony hasn't cared about PS3 moderation since some small updates to offensive words in 2016, which is why call of duty is either in various states of hacked or disarray. I recommend an evilnat jailbreak with over clocking then load the games to a hard drive and then the console basically becomes like a switch in terms of performance. So not unplayable, but certainly not the top of the line.

I tnink if u have a pc,u can rip your game to a game folder to an exernal hd 1st.if its a large mgb.then if u know what the files contain,u could delete files u dont need.other countries files for instance would reduce it down

Yeah you can use an FTP client to transfer them over. Would recommend plugging your PS3 into an ethernet connection because the wifi cards in the ps3 are pretty old so max you'll get on the PS3 slim at least (which is the model I have) is like 1mb/s which when you're transferring your games over can be quite annoying because you have to have a game open for the PlayStation to stay online otherwise even messing with the power settings it'll turn itself off after a while and you'll need to start again

You can play ps1 and ps2 games on a CFW slim and HEN super slim 💀

@@DijaVlogsGames yes they are emulated, the emulation is pretty good, some slow down, but overall very clean accurate, not a lot of issues, sure some games just don’t work, and sure some that do, have fps drops, but to say it’s no use for you is a little exaggerated, id rather use crappy emulation than not being able to play them.

@@Rajesh-Koothrappali True! But I have my PS2 set up to play PS1 and PS2 backups, which is the superior way to play for me. I assume there is no way to output the games in their original resolution on PS3 via the component output, right? That would nice.

A 1.6 tb sata hybrid drive not only does it help the console you get about 1.4 -1.3tb to work with the 1tb give you about 827gb.
A 1.6 tb sata hdd is about $50-70 bucks which is not back for 500gb extra worth of space😅 you can use the 1tb as an extra hdd which gives you about another 800gb.
