i really want this phone too. but i am so used to apple ecosystem already, and i'm afraid that it wouldn't last as long since iphones are known for their longevity.
I love mine too. Rarely open it. It's so useful to have a phone that can be used one-handed, especially on public transportation where most often I'm holding a grip, or my laptop bag. I also love that you can put it upright, especially for timers. I never use phone cameras anyway so I don't care for that.
I used a Z flip 5 for about a month and loved it other than having a super weird issue where I couldn't receive phonecalls from iPhone users 70% of the time so I've been running a Pixel 7 Pro and have loved it.
I'm happy i switched. I love being able to change EVERYTHING in my phone. I miss a lot about my iphone but i love a lot about this phone. I do wish samsung care was included like applecare the first yr
I have the Fold 5. I traded my flip 4 to get it. I use this as a makeshift laptop, tablet (mini size), and phone. I still have my iphone 13 pro, which I find I use less and less everyday. 😅
I'm dailying a Z Flip5 since December 27 and it's a lot of fun to use. Everybody that sees it wants to know more about it, so it's a great conversation starter lmao I bought the Fliptsuit case but I don't recommend it, it scratches TOO easily and that makes the phone look awful I'm buying the Ring Silicone case soon :) BTW the Z Flip5 was launched in Brazil for R$ 7.999,00 (1627USD) and now it is R$ 4.049,00 (823USD) for the 512GB and R$ 3.699,00 (752USD) for the 256GB, I think it's a pretty OK price, since a base iPhone 14 128GB costs R$ 4.299,00 (874USD) here
Hello may I know how often you open and close (folding) your Z flip 5 daily? Because I read and watched so many reviews and it all said a Flip 5 can last for only 5 years with average 20 folding per day

Got mine last week, wasn’t too impressed till I watch some videos on features. I’m liking the folded display as much as the main screen, lot of fun, really impressed with all the things you can do, battery scared me but it’s pretty good so far. Well done Samsung.
Hey Gary, great video as always. I’m an Apple fanboy and have an iPhone 13 mini, iPad and an MacBook Air, but I also have the Flip 5 and LOVE IT. My spouse is an Android user, and sometimes it’s just easier to use an Android too. I love the flip size, the video features you mention and I bounce back/forth between this and my iPhone mini…but I’m about 80% committed to the Flip at this point. I hope future versions have a bit better camera quality, but overall I’m very happy with my Flip and use it more than my iPhone!
I went with the Motorola Razr Plus when it dropped. And I still love it it's held up really well. I'll probably get the flip 6 once it drops thanks for the video keep up the great work.

the aspect ratio needs to be changed. I wish they could take a galaxy ultra phone and fold it in half. I don't mind if there is a camera bump. Im forced to choose between the very best from Samsung which is a big phone or their cutting edge technology. Why cant they allow us to have both???
The Android 14 One UI 6.0 on the Flip 5 is perfect. I had a previous Flip 5 that wouldn't update and had dead pixels forming by the hinge edge of the screen. I did a warranty replacement and the new one updates with no problem. Hopefully I have no issues with the screen so I can trade it in when I upgrade to the next model.
I'm really enjoying mine. With good Lock installed I use the cover display about 70% of the time. Don't have much need to open the phone. I agree about the lack of Dex. It is a missed opportunity. The cameras are OK but not great.
I had a Motorola razr+ 2023 and the crease was quite a bit less than on the z flip 5 bit the hinge quality is night and day in favor of the flip feels so much sturdier
I love this phone, and I do the same thing I place it on my hip the way you do. However, I feel like this phone battery is total trash. So I'll be upgrading to s24 Ultra for that reason only
Can u make the folder part of the cover screen disappear to make it more square shaped instead of folder shaped I’d love to know if u can hide the folder part it looks weird if not hopefully it will be more squared with the flip 6 in 2024 this year cause it’s messing with my ocd I didn’t know I had until now
6 month ago i thought it was time to upgrade from s10+ then found samsung offer for upgrade. Heck yeah s23+ 512gb with 80% discount. i take it. Somehow in samsung eco, it very plausible to upgrade every year with almost 80% discount. Plus now with longer software support. Thanks google and samsung.
My zflip5 is awesome. But the screen protector starting to bubble where my thumb goes when playing diablo immortal. Aside from the screen issue it's great. As a side note I play about 3 hours a day 😅 the device does gets and with all the rubbing in one areas I can understand why the screen protector is acting up.
I'm wondering How about if we cut flip 5 into half I mean Samsung can make a smallest device like humane Ai pin or rabbit r1 wearable devices as they have ai excellent work .😁
I've been looking for a phone with that form and size for a long time. The closest I found was unihertz jelly. Used it for a year but it's a bit too small. Hope we'll get something like half a flip soon.
I really thought that the AI teddy bear was intimidating because it couldn't be moved off the home screen. I thought it was an eyesore. If a person has a phobia of AI, most phones have that already.
I definitely HIGHLY prefer the design of the moto, and having its own desktop mode is HUGE. However, I can't justify picking the lesser camera option. Although, to get the best camera option I'd have to opt for the Oppo Find N3 Flip, since Oppo refuses to compromise on cameras for their folding devices.
I have both and I will say that it's something about Motorola hinge that makes noise on opening it up, I have the Razr 40 and the z flip 5, I prefer the RZR over the flip 5 because of the vegan back and small display on the outside screen, but I think Motorola does an excellent job on the inner screen display, you can barely feel the crease compared to the flip 5, they both are great flip phones, I actually hope Motorola makes a foldable phone similar in pixel layout with the fold.
If the person will just gonna text, call or vc why would he buy expensive phone , just to do that, expensive phone should have so many features that make them worth buying, expensive phone should do the midrange or budget phones couldn't do ,

The only good thing about the flip is that it folds. So it's pointless. You have to open it every time and it's long and tall so videos look crap and the crease right in the middle. Outer screen is pointless and when folded you have a bulge in pocked. So it doesn't solve any problem just adds price and complexity
The functionality of the outer folded screen makes u not open the phone as much as u think. Also, the bulge factor is negligible as it becomes very portable and it really is not a problem

I love this phone. Battery life is solid. The outer display is a gamechanger. The gen 2 processor is fast and smooth. This is a perfect foldable.
I've always been attracted to the Flip 5. I think it's a very nicely executed device.

Everything's great. Battery and cameras need to be upgraded slightly. But definitely a phone that catches real attention and eyes!!
Hopefully when Galaxy AI comes to this device it also improves the camera

There are apps that can mimic dex, and even match the aspect ratio

Considering the Z Flip5 supports video out, Samsung has no excuse to not enable Samsung DeX, especially since the Razr+ has Ready For.

Yeah its a really good phone, probably the best foldable one I've used.
Still no, but a lot of fun indeed, it is my daily driver. However nothing compared to my S21 Ultra in almost every aspect, except for size
