Thank you for sharing... This was really helpful. I do have a question. What If I want to create another category for tracking the money put in my Fixed deposit? or you could also say saving. The reason I used the term fixed deposit is because, then the money is transferred to fix deposit (FD) then that should not be termed as expense and rather investment/saving category and vice versa when we break the fd, the money then comes back in the account. Please do share I would love to incorporate this in my monthly budgeting. Thank you.

It is currently 1/4/24 and I was wondering if I should wait until the end of January to make this sheet or find the averages of the previous year to get my number?

If I have 3 uber trip rides instead of applying to each one could I select all 3 and apply the categories to it with the menu drop downs. Even better, can you search within the spreadsheet and apply it to multiple cells/transactions which contains such as of the same? thanks

What an amazing tutorial and a spreadsheet. I only have one question, when it comes on putting your income sources, are you putting them on gross income or net income??? Assuming someone with a regular job and investment or side hustle, for a job it will be tax right away, in short, net income. On the other hand, making an income on investments and side hustle, such as, capital gains and dividends is I consider gross income. Also, it will only be tax on filing season. Which part of the income should I put on the spreadsheet, the gross/pre tax or the net/after taxes to make everything accurate??? Thank you and have a great day.

Personally, I struggle to keep track on the daily expense just because I tend to forget or I´m busy during the day, and lets say I pay something cash and you easily lose track.

I think you should add another column for the payment method. Then you can also create a pie chart for the several ways you use your money. And if you want an overview of each payment method, you must add a few extra rows to fill in the starting balance of each payment method. And of course a few extra rows with the totals of the payment methods using the sumif function.
