This scene is beautifully shot. Fully suited up Black Mask standing with his goons at night background covered with fog gives me chills. The slow motion shot when he arrives also great. Kudos to Cathy Yan.
Whatever else went wrong with this film its style and art direction was some top-shelf stuff alright.

@@sivakishor7410 I vehemently disagree! The writers were compelled to make Black Mask a Harley Quinn villain. Furthermore, the writers proof Black mask is truly evil by demonstrating he disdains women. I think that is awful writing.
I agree. I didn’t like how Black Mask was written for this movie. It didn’t feel very Black Mask at all. Also, I hate how they pronounce his last name. They say it like “Sy-Own-Is” when it’s ALWAYS been pronounced as “Sy-On-Is”. It’s been in so many games and cartoons that that’s how it was always pronounced. I cringe every time they say it wrong

I love this scene. Black Mask standing in the dark background with his iconic Mask and Ewan's sinister voice and his Outfits perfectly suits the dark atmosphere.

@Comicstuff In the beginning of the movie when Roman kills Keo's family, Harley referred him with his alter ego name. She says, "Roman Sionis AKA Black Mask". Then we get to see a small snippet of him wearing the Mask. He is Black Mask the whole time but he only wears that when he loses his temper. In Roman's mansion we can clearly see a lot's of Masks n Shrunken heads. He even explains about them to Canary. It's just shows his obsession towards Masks.
@Comicstuff When Canary betrays him, he lost it n goes mad. That's when he wears his Mask. After wearing the Mask you can see a change in this voice n attitude. He arrives at the amusement mile that what pushes Harley n the girls to team up. Then he delivers a speech to his False Face Society gang while the camera slowly zooms towards him and we see him in close-up and a ferris wheel behind him. It's such a cool shot. He uses his Mask to hide his insecurities and bring the monster in him out.
Roman has such class wardrobe.

What an adorable little cop. Weird.
Our Birds getting ready to fight is also great. Especially the interactions they make with each other. Harley gives Renee another clothes because the suit she took is her outfit from Suicide Squad. The Canary and Huntress conversation is hilarious and also shows Harley's psychiatrist skills. Remember she is Dr. Harley before she gone crazy. And Cass took the grenade which she uses later to defeat Black Mask.

When Ewan McGregor was first cast as Black Mask, I was a bit baffled to see him play a supervillain, and I still kind of am to this day just seeing his face when he's not wearing the mask. Even when he does it wear it, its still kind of odd hearing his voice, as Sionis usually has a much deeper voice as he speaks through his mask.

Except that's not true. For starters the woman characters are shown as very flawed Harley often selfish (in act 3 she tries to give Cass to Black Mask in order to be protected, even though she knew Cass would be killed), reckless, and impulsive (with both men and women attacking her throughout the movie due to her behavior throughout the years), Montoya is both a hard drinker and selfish (as she put the job of her ex on the line several times), Huntress is pretty much just seeking vengeance and clearly not mentally healthy, Black Canary is pretty much fine turning a blind eye to Roman's activities (until Cass is put in danger). At best they're only slightly better than Sioans, which is the intention. Also like I said, it's focused on the criminal underworld of Gotham, that's pretty much going to be people who are flawed at best and the worst of humanity at absolute worst. And not only that, not every story needs a "good person" in it to be well made, plenty of good movies focus on nothing but terrible people doing terrible things.
He 100% carried the movie with this one scene the rest is trash
