Big Trouble in Little China continues to be one of the best movies ever.
I love that when you watch it you are conditioned to look at Jack as the hero of the story, but he's actually the wacky sidekick. Wang is the hero. It's his world, his girl, his fight. All the stakes effect the Chinese character. Jack only stands to loose a truck.

My first experience with the Uzi was thanks to the 80s arcade game called Operation Wolf, which had an Uzi as a joystick.

@@tfbtv I love Glocks over Berettas but I also feel like more 92s were seen in media in the 80s than Glocks. G17s, 92s, and P226s hit their media stride in the 90s though. Not many Wonder Nines were prevalent in 80s media it feels like. Most 80s 9mm pistols were either P-38s, Browning HPs, or S&W autos. I'm gonna check IMFDB but I think 92s were more common in media than Glocks. All that said, I loved this video.

I bought a Bren 10 in 1984, What killed that gun was the unavailability of magazines. Mine came with one mag, but it was common for the brand new guns to be shipped with no magazine at all. I took my magazine to a auto body repair shop, And they custom fabricated a dozen mags for me.

I heard, his index finger on his right hand had no nail making it impossible to get a satisfactory nut scratch. And we all know how impossible it is to get your lady to scratch your junk while your busy.
According to his Wikipedia in July of 99 there was a murder attempt on him from a French assassin. It seems a tax advisor was trying to cover up an embezzlement. He had sustained 7 head wounds and lost a liter of blood, but still had fended off his attacker stricking him twice.

80's had great movies. When I was 7 I thought the Tec 9 with the ventilated barrel shroud was the coolest thing I'd ever seen
I still think that.
I had the water gun version that later got banned. It’s the reason toy guns have orange tips to this day. It even had detachable mags you filled with water.

Hey, he used a technicality for the Uzi, shoulda used one for the Spas too. While it was introduced in the late 70s, it wasnt imported by F.I.E. until 1982. Terminator DUH!!! LOL

I remember in the late 1980s, me as a 5 yr old kid seeing an arcade cabinet with a beret wearing commando. It had an Uzi that had a grenade button and also rumble/force feedback that shook when fired. It was called Operation Wolf.
I spent a lot of time on that game as a teenager in the 80's.
I hated the 80s when I was in it. Nothing but nostalgia now. Love it. Good times. It was a great decade to grow up in.

Kinda sounds like how people reflect on hazing fraternities or military training. Ask them at the time and they say it sucks. Ask them in the future and they look back and say "ahh, good times". Funny how that works.

As a child of the 80's (Literally from age 10 to 20), I can vouch for this list. AND just want to say it was truly the greatest decade to grow up in EVER. Fight me. PS: my corduroy pants could almost catch on fire if I ran fast enough.
I'm virtually the same age as you are, and I still remember buying (as a minor) an M16-styled BB gun that looked like the real thing. No red-tipped muzzle or any of that BS. I even brought it along to Halloween parties, dressed in army fatigues, and no one batted an eye (let alone called the cops).
It was a totally rad time to grow up. Unlike today, when everyone is on edge about everything.
I stretched the 80s and 90s. My Toughskins jeans made kevlar look like wet newspaper and Voltron was the shit. The 80s were badass.
But the swooshing sound they made was totally worthwhile!

Wished I was born in the 80s instead of 2000. I love all the tech we have these days, but I feel like I missed out on so much. My parents were born in 77 and 78 respectively so it's always fun hearing their childhood stories, bur they were just kids back then so I don't get to hear too many crazy stories as adults/teenagers who grew up in the 80s.
@@JacksonWalter735 1977 and 1978 were some good years too. I remember seeing Star Wars in the theater back then and the theater didn't have an empty seat at any showing. Roller skating at the roller rinks was damn fun also during those days.

The criteria is guns that were made in the 80s not guns that were in 80s film. Could have used a 93r Beretta but the 92 was introduced in 1976.

@@josephcolton7519 the uzi "mini". Was developed in 1980. There are many uzi variants and 3 main types, the original uzi 1950, the mini 1980 and the micro 1986 with an improved micro dubbed the pro in 2010 I believe.

And he has the chiseled chin, upper body, and "guns" to perfect the look of a Crockett, Magnum, Plisskin, or McClain. Again, great job.

The Intratec Tec-9 was originally produced in 1982-83 as the Interdynamics KG-9. The company was short-lived and the design wound up with Intratec. Great video. The80's were awesome!

Me and my BFF love referencing 1999 Hulk Hogan fashion whenever we can, so I appreciated the hell out of that JNCO pic.

I miss the 80's. Michael Mann was doing something no one had ever done before with Miami Vice, music kicked ass and people didn't hate each other. The 90's were great, too.

Revolvers were still very popular. 44 magnum Super Blackhawks and Ruger Red Hawks were always near the top. A few AR15s and one 5.56 AK was on the list too. Other wise it was standard revolvers and bolt action rifles. I was an odd ball sporting a model 1894 Winchester and 2 cheap Llama 1911s. I traded away my 1911s for a Single Action Army clone in 357. I still have the SAA and the Winchester. It was a different time and different attitudes. Some dude bought a double action Uzi. He pretended to be Arnold. We had abandoned missile silo parties to. We were USAF wild and crazy guys. We all survived.
James, you forgot Sonny Crocket's backup gun. The Detonics Combat Master in .45ACP. He carried it in an ankle holster.
My old man was a Detroit cop in the 80's; he carried a 4" Smith 686 "Distinguished Combat Magnum" which came out in 1981. Give the 80's the revolver love it deserves!
Fun story; he got a call for a dude at a McDonald's with a knife. He showed up to find a black dude at a table, drunk off his ass, trying to open his cigarette pack with a pocket knife. My dad opened it for him and gave him a ride home. The 80's were indeed better times. When he dropped him off at his apartment, they smoked a cigarette and my dad listened to him tell his troubles.

Ecto coolers and GI Joe after school was awesome, I never watched Jem but my sister did. Really surprised the producers did give Crockett a Glock, they were brand new at the time and technologically ahead of everything.
In "Cuba Libre" Crockett only takes the Glock 17 off a rebel soldier since his Smith &Wesson 645 was taken from him earlier. Two years later the movie Johnny Handsome (1989) was the first major movie to feature a Glock 17. Speaking of 1980's handguns, I am a little surprised that the Sig Sauer P226 did not make the list since production on it began in 1984 and it quickly become popular with both the military (the Navy SEALS choose it over the Beretta M9 since it held up better under the rigorous testing they subjected it to) and law enforcement community. Additionally, it has many civilian fans as well. Rambo: First Blood Part II (1985) marked its first media appearance and Robocop (1987) marked the first time it was seen firing on camera.
Love those 80's guns. I grew up in the 80's so I wasn't old enough to buy all these gems then.
