I just love Gene Pitney and his many diverse songs. He could sing anything and wonderfully! He was such a gentleman and a family man. He really appreciated his many fans everywhere. We truly miss him.
So pleased that I rushed up to the stage on Gene’s last visit to N.Z + shook his hand as people are doing in this video!! A wonderful talent + such a nice guy too, gone too soon!! xxxx
I have been a fan of this incredible man all my life, my Dad introduced him to me. He was very like my Dad to look at, both went before they should have. Gene's music stays with me always. R.I.P
Wonderful tribute and great to see these rare photos. I saw Gene on this tour when he performed a fantastic show at the Symphony Hall in Birmingham on the 2nd of April. Sat near the front I have that memory to treasure.
I'm not one to wish a happy Birthday to one who has passed on. But I do want to say that this MAN OF MUSIC has, is and always WILL be the biggest influence on music I have ever had. Without us ever having personally met, ( I attended all of his concerts here in Dublin ), Gene taught me so much about what REAL music is and should be. Because of the impact that he had / has on me, I can write meaningful songs and harmonise just like he did. Maybe I'll never get anywhere but I'm so proud to be able to record in the same primitive way that Gene did in his very early days. Thanks to all for reading this. God Bless you Gene. Really loved his voice since I was 10yrs old and followed his tour as on ipod since I am 75yrs old now and still love him but he should have spent more time with is family instead of touring that's what killed him 🌹

I will listen to what you suggested in a little while and give you may completely unprofessional thoughts as other than the piano is personally as untalented musically as can be.
Twelve years on tributes like this still bring tears to my eyes. Our radio station (Magic) regularly plays Gene Pitney's music. I will be emailing them tomorrow (5th April) but know he will be remembered by this station and many New Zealanders who love the man and his music. I will certainly spend many hours listening to and remembering the legend that is Gene Pitney. He visited these shores on several occasions and his shows were always sold out.
I love Gene Pitney's voice so much. I went to a concert of his in Christchurch NZ back in 1963/64 Been a big fan of his all these year's. I'm 75 now and I was devastated 😭 when he passed at such a young age. RIP GENE. 🙏 .

Gone but not forgotten. After corned beef sandwiches and latkes at Reins Diner in Vernon, CT I always play Gene’s Greatest Hits on the drive back to Boston MA. You are always remembered, Gene. Love to the Pitney Family. 💕
Still find it hard to accept he's gone. Such a lovely, lovely person, we needed him for much longer. My only consolation is that I recorded in my diary every time we met ( he stayed regularly at the hotel where I worked) and can recall those times whenever I read my diary. But it makes me feel sad too.

Even as he aged, his voice was still wonderful. He was a wonderful family man and gone too soon.
I have loved this man's voice since we all were young. Town Without Pity has always been my favourite. But he has been special all my life !
