Sephra Fondue Fountains vs the Competition - Chocolate Fountain Comparison

- Shopping for a home chocolate fountain, but not sure where to start? You’ve heard the good, the bad and the ugly about home chocolate fountains, so we’ve done some comparison shopping for you with well-known chocolate fountain brands. Here’s what we found.
We gave each fountain a completely honest shot to perform at its’ highest and best level. We think you’ll find this helpful.
Here are some things to look for. Remember the old saying: “You get what you pay for”! Hmmm - they were right.
We purchased chocolate fountains from ‘big box’ stores, local department stores and on the internet. We found, in general, each fountain was, sadly, poor quality. The performance promised didn’t meet said expectations.
We had to pre-melt the chocolate, in all cases. None of the fondue fountains have a basin capable of melting the chocolate or any other type of fondue, directly in the basin. Even though we poured our melted chocolate fondue into preheated basins, in most cases, the basin was not warm enough, nor did it stay warm enough to keep the chocolate fondue cascading properly over the tier-sets. Chocolate gaps appeared frequently. Not the pretty setting we picture.
Assembly was awkward; some of the fountains had welded tier-sets and because of this, level and stable fountains were a problem. As chocolate would rise to the top, the fountain became top-heavy and we almost had some chocolate fountains tipping over. Later those welded tier-sets also became very difficult to clean.
Most of the motors were very noisy and would be extremely disconcerting at a celebration or dinner party - guests having to raise their voices to be heard over the noise of the chocolate fountain motor. Very distracting to say the least.
In general, here are 6 easy things to look for when purchasing a home chocolate fountain:
1. Whisper-Quiet motor
2. Heated Basin that actually will melt and maintain your fondue temperature
3. Quality Construction
4. Leveling ability - adjustable feet to easily level fountain
5. Ease of Assembly - Quik Set Tiers are a thumbs up!
6. Easy to Clean (some parts being dish-washer safe)

It would be absolutely fantastic if you included the brand of each fountain. Instead of making it a commercial for Sephra fountains.

Thank you for posting this video - currently there are Budget model chocolate fountains for sale in the Australia Post Shop and in Big W - although Big W does stock well made appliances, I'm pleased that I watched this video.

Very helpful video. I wish the background music was not there so I could hear even more clearly the noise of the other fountains, which were deal breakers. I'm glad I own now a Sephra I bought today. It's so quiet and with the robe, its beautiful.
Nice design, works well and very easy to set up.
I invested in the Sephra fountain for its direct drive motor design. Whisper quiet, and never had problems once the fountain is properly primed. Highly recommend.

Was pretty obvious the temperature of the chocolate being added to the "other brand" fountains was way too low, it's barely melted! The chocolate in the Sephra fountains was at a good operating temperature though. Very misleading video. However, i would still recommend Sephra fountains over all other makes (I own/run 2 Sephra commercial fountains)

The way the chocolate curtains due to the mixture of oil and chocolate. You need to play with the mixture to find the portions that work best with each fountain. No two are alike, even with in the same brand.

Could have been a great video but the overpowering music ruined it for me. Music is not needed in a teaching video.
Lol this video is total BS it was obvious the chocolate wasn’t hot enough that you were putting in all the other fountains! Also showing how a fountain sounds with no chocolate in it of course it’s going to make noise! Also I love how you “burped” the other machines but it was always a cut in the video clearly you let the chocolate cool way the hell down before coming back to the video of the fountain. I was honestly considering buying your fountain until I saw what a shady ass company you are to put out a video like this of competitors. Just disgusting!
You should go with the other shitty fountains, it will match your attitude lol
