- Day 1 of our Alaskan cruise has us boarding the ship, room tour of the grand suite (10242) and a standard room (10508). We dine at Chops steakhouse and generally get settled in for the trip ahead of us.

I just got upgraded to grand suite from jr suite for September ovation! I’m looking forward to coastal kitchen. What did you think of their food? Can you order free room service?
Suites can order room service food at no additional charge (they will charge you for drinks regardless of your drink package status). If you order dinner with room service you have the option to order from the main dining room menu for the evening.
The food on the ship was good, but the only "great" meals we had were at Coastal Kitchen and Chef's table.
Excited for these videos. Ill be on the same cruise next week to Alaska :)
We hope you have as good of a time as we did. One thing we did notice was a slight understaffing problem (which led to some longer than expected waits). Hopefully they have resolved some of that. What a great room you had! Loved it! Adam's room....not so much. 🤣
It was a very nice room. I would like to think that we would have been just as happy in a standard balcony room. But the extra space was wonderful.

1. Auntie Scott's suite was on a different cruise line, so it does appear that this suite was larger. However, his ship (Crystal Serenity) had vastly improved service, food quality and amenities.
2. People eat a lot on cruise ships - not just Adam.
When I did my Mexico cruise on Disney, they didn't have an LGBTQ+ meetup on there either. No Mittens? Does he have this "work ethic" I've heard so much about.
It was a work schedule thing that he couldn't make it. They are taking a European cruise in a couple of weeks and he was using his vacation time for that.
