- I'M IN LOVE with *TANGLED**, superior filmmaking! I'm making a commentary/movie reaction/first time watching of **TANGLED* (2010) and this has become one of my favorite Disney movies! Mother Gothel is one of the scariest Disney witches, despite having no magical abilities.
Totally agree, the psychological games she handles really adds to the story and hero-villain dynamic
I love how she's technically hundreds of years old because of what it says early in the movie, and how she dies with her accuratly turning into dust at the last second
I was so excited to watch this when you talked about it on a stream. Tangled is one of the most beautiful stories and it's amazing that it still holds its place even after 12 years.

btw at 25:17 when eugene says "but if you do this, then you will die" he doesn't mean literally. Rapunzel has dreamed of seeing the world her whole life, now shes experienced it and fallen in love with it. If she went with Gothel and was locked away for the rest of her life, she wouldn't be 'living', shed be miserable and probably turn into an empty husk. That is what he was saying there :)

Always loved this film, love Mandy Moore in anything she does. She adds such character to whatever she portrays, and its a bonus that she can sing too.
I don't think I've seen her in anything else but she played Rapunzel here brilliantly, nailed every emotional beat and all 🙌🏻
You know, I just realized how much Rapunzel has in common with Adora. Naive blonde horse girl with magic powers and an abusive adoptive mother who is also an evil sorceress? They're practically the same person 😆

Love the reaction! There's also a movie that comes after this 'Rapunzels ever after' followed by a series 'Rapunzels Tangled Adventure' if you ever wanna check those out, those are in my opinion just as good as the movie.

@@darquidarqui You should ABSOLUTLY watch the series!! When I first saw it, I assumed it was probably going to be at least decent since the movie was good, but OMG, it really just blew past my expectations lol- I was _really_ good!
The movie/special is actually called "Before Ever After", which canonically takes place around 6 months after Tangled. The show (which actually goes by two names; Tangled the Series, & Rapunzel's Tangled Adventure) takes place very soon after Before Ever After, possibly just a few days.
It would be really cool if you checked it out, it's a very underrated show and I haven't seen a whole lot of reactions to it, so when I do I really enjoy watching them! ^^
I'll add that after the series. There's a short called: Tangled: Ever After. Highly recommend both! If you decide to do a reaction video, I'd love to know your thoughts on the series as a whole! 💜
I saw it in the cinema when it came out, and even then I already felt like it would remain one of my favourite "newer" Disney films. As someone who's been very displeased with the visual style direction particularly in character design in recent years from Disney since they've gone full 3D (not counting Disney+Pixar mostly), this one and Brave are basically the most recent Disney movies I genuinely love. And the humour in it is so good yet doesn't at all detract from the story (which gives the princess so much agency for once, and her bond with her lover feels genuine and earned, not just the age old "he was a boy she was a girl, can I make it any more obvious" lol).
Anyway gotta praise your excellent editing work in this one too, this was super fun to watch along with you! Thanks for sharing🤘
Would've loved to see thia in the theaters! The animation is gorgeous (didn't know it had such a huge production budget) and the story is literally timeless, no wonder it's aged so so well. Loved the main two a lot, probably my favorite Disney couple now!

This is my favorite Disney movie and I loved your reaction! This is how I felt too first time watching :) (and honestly still). And a bit of context about how the tear healed him at the end: In the fairytale Rapunzel, the princess heals the prince by crying. In the fairytale Rapunzel doesn't have any magical powers, kind of like the disney Rapunzel at the end. So I believe it's a reverence to the source material.
I'm German and I grew up with these tales, sometimes I'm so confused how people don't know these. But then I remember not every parent read absolutely gruesome stories to their kids :D

That's a great reference, I connected it with the beginning of the movie where there is a drop of water on that flower and then it comes to life. Hahahaha I grew up watching this kind of movies but this one in particular escaped my radar! Yeap, my parents were definitely not those 😂
I loved this so much...also the way the lanterns started glowing from the castle down the streets before being let go....looked like her hair when they start to glow i loved that detail so much

I just discovered this reaction to this glorious movie, and yours is one of the best and most insightful that I've seen for it. Everything you said is right on target, and I also want to mention the actors -- some of the finest voice work in any animated feature. Mandy Moore as Rapunzel, Zachary Levi bringing humor and nuance to Flynn/Eugene, and I would especially single out the magnificent Donna Murphy bringing great nuance to Mother Gothel.

This is my fave disney movie ever, seriouly its so strong. You should check out the tv series too!!!! They continue the story and, God, there are so many interesting twists (and explanations), they also added a bunch of amazing characters.

wow i know this movies whole script by memory almost, yes somehow 90% of the sun imagery that you picked up on went over my head. Thats amazing, just shows you how well they implemented those subtle things.

There’s no real debate whether Mulan’s a Disney Princess movie, right? She’s literally listed as an official Disney Princess. She’s not royalty, but she received royal recognition and honors. Disney gets official say-so, anyway.
I've had multiple discussions about this topic with friends of mine but I agree, and Mulan is still my favorite out of them all!
