      Obama is a politician. He wants to let Kaepernick know he supports his broken leg stance when Kaepernick agreed to be employed by the NFL. As soon as Obama said, it is Kaepernick's right to sit on his butt while he is the poster child of a Nation. I say, if you want to be a pig than get out of America. Both Obama, and Kaepernick represent a Nation. BOTH!!!! George Washington said it best, "The thing that sets the American Christian apart from all other people in the world is he will die on his feet before he'll live on his knees" (George Washington, 1789). Yeah' OBAMA George Washington said this!!! So, shut your pie hole, and learn from the BEST!!!

He is The kind of leader that is A true leader if he had free rein to do what he really thought was needed to do to create a greater America thus impacting positively on the rest of the world. When I read your comment and then put it into my thoughts, I instantly thought about Martin Luther King and how he was so diplomatic and held great leadership. Thus make me smile and think of how ironic the world is and the concept of the roots of bullying. ........it's a shame that the weakest people / nations bully the ones they fear through their own insecurities..... Let the rightful Leaders be Leaders and we will all be alright and harmonious. Women should also be great leaders in the public domain as we have been in all realms from the beginning of time. Respect.

      Pete Johnson what you don’t understand is in order to actually stage a protest that’s actually gonna attract the attention of the nation is not to “do it on your own time” it’s to do it in a moment where the country is watching. By kneeling during the national anthem he’s not disrespecting veterans but he’s more so protesting that while the nation comes together to sing a song about the freedoms of people, black people are being exempt from this and are suffering at the hands of the very people who enforce the LAWS of this land.

    • @nikhiljhala7124
      @nikhiljhala7124 7 ปีที่แล้ว +33

      He dealt with the issue by enforcing the idea that people on either side of the argument should consider the other sides' point of view and use that the reshape their view on the topic, and to have a discussion to promote positive change and growth for society rather than just saying that people with differing opinions (a.k.a "that son of a bitch") should be "fired" and removed from the discussion entirely.

      Trump isn't pc. That's it. and all of us that support Trump, this is the argument we are having with people, but all they want to do is yell and scream. There have been some good protests where both sides have been able to agree and actually have a discussion, but majority of them don't give you the time of day. 2 years ago these arguments that these players are kneeling for might have had a chance, but they way people are going about them, all it is doing is tearing the country apart more and the ones "fighting racism" are the same ones that are making this country more racist. Let's just all sit down, discuss the issues, and find a solution to whatever the dilemmas or problems are. There's no need for all of the violence that has been happening. Let's come together and make this country great again

    That's what makes this country so great is that we can have differences and that we need to remember to respect those differences and there's nothing wrong with a clean good debate as long as no one is bashing one another and saying bad language to each other because that's when it becomes Savage.

    I am here after the George Floyd thing and I understand now that it was never about disrespecting the military, it was about a country that doesn't represent the black community. So why would you stand up for the anthem of a country that has mistreated you and your race for 400 years?

  • @veemon9280
    @veemon9280 6 ปีที่แล้ว +22

    I love how people have completely shifted the gold post on this. Once again completely shoving the black race in the dark to make it about the mostly white military industrial complex.
    Never mind the many black men targeted by the police every single day and killed!
    Instead let's make it about the military being offended by people who kneel during the national anthem.
    Its a form of protest people !!!
    Protest is meant to call attention to itself!?!
    A protest only works if it draws attention.
    Do you think anybody gives a rats @ss if black people in black neighbourhoods march peacefully with signs in front of their local police station ??? I doubt it would even make the news.
    This is why some NFL players have chosen to kneel during the national anthem, in the hopes that it will get people talking about the issue

    'We fight sometimes so that people can do things we disagree with. But that's what freedom means'
    Nail. Head.Freedom doesn't mean keep stumm. It means you, me and everyone else has the right to voice their opinion. To express their thoughts when they feel something is off. To criticise the powers that be because this isn't North Korea. People have the right to disagree with the players who did this just as much as the players right to do it in the first place. The important thing is not to bitch and moan at one another to the point nothing happens except more hatred widening the divides in the country. The point is to listen and understand both sides have their reasons and like with most things the answer is compromise. You think these players protested and risk their careers for nothing? For something they don't genuinely feel passionate about? You realise they are a voice for thousands, millions others like them? How about listening and maybe in a few years time there won't be protests to begin with.
    People claiming this is a disgrace to the flag are missing the point. People saying they shouldn't do this during their 'work' are closer to the mark. That is worth debating but seeing as the reason for doing this is publicity and to spark a debate and change, I can see why they did it. It certainly worked. And if they lose anything from it I'm guessing they were prepared for it.
