One thing I did with puppies growing up was to yelp whenever they bit me, even if it wasn't hard. It's what puppies do to show their siblings the limit on biting. It worked pretty quickly. Just found ur channel. Sorry to hear about the poor family getting kicked out but a blessing in disguise for y'all to get Opal. Congrats.
I found you by accident on here but I click the subscribe button because anyone that would do what you did with our fur babies deserve to have a lot of followers I am an avid dog lover and I can't stand what people do to l our fur babies I'm so happy that she found you
The same with me I just happened to see them by accident and subscribed as well because of their love and kindness for this puppy I love animals appreciate people who love animals
Thank you for recued the puppy , he is very lucky to cross path with you both , she will bring a lot of joy to you on the road, May God keep you both and puppy safe on the road🙏🙏🙏
She's adorable 😍 thank you for giving her a great life. It is hard work with a puppy but sooo worth it. She is totally your Dog 🐕. It was meant to be. 💓💖❤️💟💫🌠
Opal is going to have such a wonderful, adventuresome life!!!! 🥳 for Opal! Just remember, potty training isn’t just about their desire to do the right thing! Mistakes happen! Their little underdeveloped bladders and colons just can’t help it! Precious baby girl!
She is doing so well. Puppies are nippers, and their teeth are like needles! You are doing great training her. I couldn't believe that the van door was open and she didn't run off x
She's definitely a chihuahua and eventually those ears will stand straight up. When she bites just figure out a command word that doesn't involve the word "no" and put a toy straight into her mouth so she bites on that. Being consistent is the key.
I think this pup will be better off with you. The thing that worries me is that they rescued the pup and they gave her up, thank goodness you are both so kind, but it could of been a whole different story for the pup. Thank you guys x.
Kinda late but for anyone wondering the soft bump is probably leftover from the umbilical cord. Possibly an umbilical hernia just like an outie belly button on a human 😂 she’s beautiful we just got a rescue puppy too… he never stops but it’s worth it!
She is absolutely adorable 🥰 Puppies are a lot of work and usually aren’t able to be housebroken until 4mos so putting her on a puppy pad during the night will help if you don’t want to take her outside. Once she is old enough to hold it all night taking her out every 2hrs during the day should keep the accidents from happening. Enjoy her she will bring so much joy to you both!❤❤❤
We picked up some pads this weekend for nighttime and hope she uses them ❤️ we know it will take some time and dedication to get her to be fully house trained but we’re happy to do it! Thanks so much for watching and we appreciate the insights as well 🫶🏼
One hint for training. I put the pads where my dog makes his pee mistakes. I clean the spot and put the pad there. If you can anyway. Also when she sits naturally you can say, sit, good sit. and teach her to stay. That's an important command for her safety.❤
Aww she is so cute. So happy for her that you guys got her. She looks like my Chihuahua, I have 2 one white and the other one brown. Their names are Lucy and Ricky 😊.
She looks like a Deer Head Chihuahua and she also looks like she may have a hernia. The vet will let you know all that stuff. I am just giving you my opinion. Opal is absolutely adorable and you will enjoy her for a very long time. Oh and if she is a Chihuahua our last one lived until she was 19 years old. Our Chihuahua now, Winnie the Pooh, is 7 years old. They are the best dogs! Love to y’all 💛❤️🍯🐝
Not gonna lie, I cried watching this beautiful puppy be rescued by the two of you amazing people. It’s been seven years since I lost my beloved cat Charlotte in my heart I’ve always known that when it’s time, a rescue will come to me. I know you’ll make great pup parents. It’s easy to see already. ❤
Chiweenie dachshund and Chihuahua half and half. Smart dogs. Easy to talk to and train. I have one from a local rescue. I got him on puppy pads the first day but take him out about four times a day anyway. Don't forget to wash her teeth everyday. Get her used to that. Putting a dental wipe on your finger is usually pretty gentle. They're bred too small and if you don't clean their teeth with a wipe every day their teeth just rot. She'll be a joy! Great small dogs. Cinco de mayo is the official day celebrating Chihuahuas in Mexico. I gave that as my rescue's birthday since we didn't know.❤
Crate training will be very important for the times when y’all need to leave her alone. Invest in temperature monitoring system as the summer is coming, Glad you all found each other
NO to CRATE TRAINING! IT’S CRUEL! DOGS NEVER USED TO BE SHUT IN CRATES. CRATES CAME ABOUT BECAUSE PEOPLE WANTED A DOG BUT DIDN’T HAVE TIME FOR THE DOG. THE DOG WOULD DEFECATE IN THE HOUSE/APARTMENT WHILE THE OWNER WAS AT WORK. THE OWNER DIDN’T LIKE THIS, THUS THEY SHUT THEIR DOG IN A CAGE. IT IS A CAGE NOT A CRATE. p.s. I love how this couple saved this puppy!
What you have there is a full blooded all American Dawg. They are a different breed than the mere Dog..... congratulations on your new family member..... you are going to love her.
She's absolutely adorable! She's probably so relieved to be away from all that stress! I'm excited to see what the vet has to say, especially about how big she's going to be! I hope everything goes so great at the vet! 💞
Oh how cute!! ❤ Opal Looks like she’s got some beagle in her. She seems to be very smart. I think you made a great choice. Right place, right time. Enjoy. She’s a jewel. Opal fits her perfectly.
The retractable lead will encourage pulling on the lead, because puppies think they can just run on ahead of you, they have to learn to walk beside you when walking, also they are pretty dangerous, because sometimes you can't snap them shut quick enough when you need to, get an ordinary lead to which you attach a piece of rope or cord when running free, Opal is pretty gorgeous by the way, she's lucky that you found her, she'll be a lovely dog, the nipping may be because she is teething, try buying her some chew sticks or toys that she can bite, her little teeth may be hurting her like a baby teething xxx
Even if you didn’t want the pup, you could have taken her to a rescue after paying them-just in case anyone else encounters this situation in the future. You’ll save a life. Well done. She’s cute!
Awwww ty for rescuing Opal she is so adorable such a good pup. Opal will grow out of that she is just a pup train her while she is a pup talk to her as person they understand. But when he vet visit they will inform u how much or if she can hear at all. Opal is so blessed u adopted her instead of living her old life style. Be careful of lakes of mostly do to gators crocs they love dogs I've seen so much videos & news on these attacks. An 80 some year old lady was walking her dog in her back yard near her pond when a big gator tried to get her doggy & knocked her down & could not get her doggy instead grabbed her feet & drugged her in & drowned her my heart gets worried over them cases & so many other. God Bless u both u both are great love your & love Opal just subscribed
“My two girls.” I love that. You’re a family. Your kindness made me smile. Doing extra laundry is frustrating. Just as you are adjusting to her she is adjusting to life with you. Subscribed.
Opal is adorable. Thank you, Nicholette and Brian, for rescuing Opal and giving her her best life. She is so happy with the two of you. I am looking forward to seeing what's next. Safe travels. Hugs 🤗🤗🐶🤗
Gorgeous puppy. I think thats a hernia. My pup had one and it had a wee stitch when we got her spayed…Ive written this before i finished watching so may be proved wrong ❤
OPAL IS ABSOLUTELY PERFECT,, MY HUSBAND & I JUST ADOPTED A LITTLE GIRL NAMED BABY-BUTTONS AND SHE LOOKS ALMOST EXACTLY LIKE OPAL. I'M A C-5,C-6,C-7 QUADRAPLEGIC & MY HUSBAND IS MY FULL-TIME CAREGIVER. WE HAVE BEEN DREAMING OF DOING GEMSTONE HUNTING & OTHER TYPES OF MAKING MEMORIES. I WISH I WAS ABLE TO GET A PICTURE OF OUR LITTLE PUPPY SHE IS JUST LIKE YA'LL'S PERFECT OPAL.. SENDING LOT'S OF PEACE & BLESSINGS ON YOUR TRAVELS !♡!♡ IT WOULD BE AMAZING TO MEET ANOTHER INTER-ABLED COUPLE WITH AND VERY SIMILAR INTERESTS ....🙏🥰🕊😇
Definitely crate training and I would suggest getting a regular collar (vs the harness style, although she is a bit tiny) because I have seen that it’s easier to train them not to pull.
I am a Nomad living in my Iron Horse.. I have been looking for a rescue dog 🐕. I have dog sat for a couple of weeks , taking an active 11 month Shepski on adventures with me. Having a dog on the road changes Van life for the better ..Im so excited for your puppy 🐶 What a little love ❤️
Congratulations!!! She is adorable!! Btw retractable leashes are dangerous I regular leash is the most safe Also a harness is best for the leash The collar is best for a name tag Enjoy her!!!
Also, I think you saved her from a really dreadful situation. I can’t wait to watch more of your videos. As a disabled van camper, I love the energy.
Looks like a mixed shepherd. She's not biting, she's teething.
Opal is precious. Thank you for rescuing her.

Puppies make our lives so joyful, they are little packs of fun ❤❤❤
One Tip (service dog handler)
Don't repeat commands. It gives the Puppy an Option to disobey.
This is also good advice for children.

I love the name Opal! She's very special, all puppies are nippy until they learn what is proper behavior. Precious and smart!
she is the best breed rescued ❤❤

Opal is your angel without wings. A true gift from God😊
God brought Opal to you. He brings people and animals together when they need each other the most. She is a beautiful fur baby!
She needed you and you needed her
What a sweet addition to your family. Furbabies bring so much love into our lives. Please have her spayed.
You all are such a blessing. Thanks for being there for this family and such a beautiful puppup❤

Opal is so cute❤❤❤
Awwe, she looks like our puppy. She’s a “chug.” She’s an apple-head chihuahua and pug. I think that is what your baby is. ❤
Ohh that would be interesting!! Your the first to suggest that - we will have to see when we do the DNA test in a month or so
You made a good addition to your life Bella is a nice name for her suggestion.she is very happy .

she is a lovely little girl . animals give so much love back .
That is a rupture on her belly. My pup has one too. It’s common and won’t cause her problems if it stays small. She looks like a Chiweenie to me.
She has a hernia which can be easily fixed when she gets spayed. No worries
