    Yet another thing we in the U.S don't automatically get when we buy bikes, preload wrenches, all we ever get is that same ole cheap helmet holding wire.

    You didn't answer the only question one can have about this, do you need to turn it clockwise or anticlockwise for increasing the preload? If I knew I would have checked the manual...

    • @thebrightrider
      @thebrightrider  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Counter clockwise for increasing the preload

    How old are you, did someone plant a mature aged adult in a youths body? Your inputs are of a quality that far outstrips 80 pc of the tubes I view every day. Great You Tubes keep it up.

    Hey man, really useful video! I just wondered if this helps adjust sag? I'm 100lb and only 5ft 2in - the previous owner has it on the highest setting so want to adjust it so it's softer and my feet can touch the ground better :)

    • @thebrightrider
      @thebrightrider  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      It think it has very minimal effect on the sag

    Does anyone know the STOCK preload number on the 2019 cb500x? 2......3 ?
    ( my bike) ..also at 2:26 to 2:39...That looks like he turned it clock wise ...Is that how you increase preload..meaning making it able to handle more weight?

    • @thebrightrider
      @thebrightrider  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Clockwise increases preload yes. I think the default was set on max preload -1

    Hi, owner of 2019 here..I'm 85 kg riding solo and I've tried every preload on rear shock leaving front preload at stock which is 3rd groove..Personally for me setting of 2 which is default is best, you have great feedback from rear end and tire, also on twisties Im more confident to go faster because of that feedback then on setting 3 or up, on those harder settings I don't feel bike as much doing his thing behind, so I don't know will tire slip or not, but on 2 I feel when my tire is skiping..Also on harder settings riding is not plush and smooth, it's a bit bumpy and sometimes my ass would go of the seat if road is not perfectly flat..P.S Im riding only road, bit more aggressively so take my experience with grain of salt🙏

    Do you do the adjustments on the side stand?

    • @shaun8306
      @shaun8306 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      I could not get it past position 2 on the side stand, however it is fully adjustable on a centre stand, even without the extension arm fitted to the tool.

    Anyone know what tool needed to adjust the rear preload? My 2021 didn't come with one in the tool kit. Extra points if you have a link to tool. Called Honda and apparently the 2019, 2020 and 2021 don't come with the tool in America. Thank you.

      BenalRida I know it’s a bit tricky, but you keep at it, you’ll eventually get it to stick! On the video it seems easy, but I tried to get it to turn for a couple minutes too ;p

    is it necesary to adjust the front also, with a passenger on the rear seat ? Not so much front diving when you're hard on breaks ?

    • @thebrightrider
      @thebrightrider  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      poiro No need in my opinion.. :) you can always go extreme with stuff like that but the bike is safe to ride with a passenger when you set the preload on max
