    The behind-the-neck grip and both-hands-gripping-uke’s-elbow grip are my favorite variations in this selection-primarily because I find them applicable without the benefit of a judo go and therefore especially effective in self-defense situations. I’m 2 years shy of 60 and my competition and intensive randori days are behind me; what engages my attention now is how classical judo waza can be applied to self-protection and combat situations, which were the crucible from which they were created in the first place. I owe Riki-sense I and the dojo a debt of gratitude for this and the previous video on Ashi-guruma. They have helped me realize how functional and doable this waza truly is. Incidentally, I don’t find any problem with the audio quality at all.

      @@RikiDojoUSA there is no point in teaching 'fighting hacks' if they are not in line with present judging rules. We are not talking 'original kodokan techniques' for kata or graduation here!
