Silvarret's voice is pretty hot anyway... But I always love hearing him say "Hey guys, and welcome to a NEW SERIES of Planet Coaster". It's because I know Silvarret's one of the best at going above and beyond with decorating the parks, even down to tiny details you may not notice. I just like how he pushes the boundaries of what he can make, whilst making sure it is realistic too.
Silv, If you want your catwalks to look a little more prototypical to Vekoma, lift them up 0.3-0.5 meters. they should be level with the step to enter the car, just like the station platform, so guests don't get caught between the rail and the car.
It looks so pretty and I very much prefer it to the other style of mine train coaster because it looks more like the railroad was threaded through the existing mountain. Can't wait for the next episode!
As a fellow german, not only your name is awesome - but also your newest creation - the watch go karts ;D @Silvarette - Your builds man, are something to behold. Srysly
I have watched this episode a fair few times today and each time, I pick up something new which you have done with the details of the theming of the ride. I then started to work on some styles you were doing in this video for new techniques to learn. Getting there with the track but, and I have to say you probably get this a lot, but you are just amazing in your designs, theming and just everything you do. Thank you for your tutorial videos.
I've been waiting for a series like this from you for a loooooonnnnggg time, I'm a huge big thunder nerd, and a train nerd, and this is right up that alley.
I came to this video fresh off your Parkitect build sessions. Everything you've created thus far has been an artistic masterpiece. As someone who does not do well with a lot of in-game creative freedom, let me say you are able to use it in ways I could never dream to create absolutely gorgeous rides and parks. Bravo, good sir!
really looking forward to this build. Around 2 months ago I was in Disney world for a week and the 7 dwarves mine train was really fun, i can see the resemblance. Enjoy watching these and keep up the good work!
wow! looks absolutly amazing! i have like 500 hours in PC and think that what i build already looks amazing. But looking at you do it just brings that to another level, great built!
That second drop looks intense haha, love it! I love the custom catwalk work, it looks great and I vote for the bare carts without the train. Don't quote me on the 100m evacuation distance haha, it just seems like that on Big Thunder Mountain in Paris. Probably because of European regulations but I never really studied mine trains. :D Looking forward to the next episode!
Thanks! I wasn't going to leave this Vekoma family coaster without hitting some sustained negative G's! >:D I'm really torn over the carts though, they look great bare, but the locomotive fits the theme more. Oh well, we'll see what happens in the end. Fair enough, I shouldn't hold you accountable for any unsourced quotes. But it really seems like a ton of evacuation stairs, haha.
Very nice speed throughout the whole track. This ride has very nice banking as well, so although it isnt super tall there are very fun moments that happen that experienced roller coaster fans would enjoy. I am also a fan of the Catwalks and the variation you included with those catwalks. I am sure you will nail the buildings as always.
Little question/request: is there a chance you give us a sort of 'behind the scenes' in which you show us sketches you made for your coasters/parks? I think that would be incredibly interesting! :) Keep up the awesome work, Silv, your creations always give me the perfect escapism feeling, the feeling of being away in a wonderful other world that I'm looking for in this game!
Wow! Awesome layout! I am really starting to enjoy a more compact layout for these kind of coasters. It makes the ride almost look larger even though it may not exactly be that tall. It also allows for some amazing sight lines as you said. On top of some beautiful scenery! Cannot wait for the next one!
Others may call you a coaster nerd, but i think your knowledge on coasters of all types and from all makers is amazing and informative. I of course love your work too Silv :)
I am playing planet coaster for a couple days now on PS4. And I am trying to build this insane coaster and park you made. Thank you for this inspiration. Love this park and coaster !!!
Well not quite that, but the boomerang's cars on regular corkscrew coaster tracks for Vekoma Loopers, the megacoaster cars on the eurofighter tracks for Intamin Blitz coasters and the Giovanola Inverted cars on the corkscrew coaster tracks for Vekoma SLC's to name some examples.
I believe the excessive catwalks are to keep the height requirement down! Safer evacuation route = less restrictive height/age requirement = more family friendly. Really enjoying this project :)
it's 80F outside right now, but i can't, in good conscience, settle in to watch one of silv's videos without a cup of hot chocolate. so suffer i will in the name of quality entertainment.
OMG the fountains haha... RIP framerate Anyways, Im super hyped about this project! Something about the mine train style rides is so unique.. They are so integrated into their surroundings. Cant wait to see more progress..
Great!!! I love BTMR at WDW, EE at WDW! This layout is amazeballs! (quote Keralis) I have a horrible computer, but I'm saving to buy one! You got me into Planet Coaster! Great name!!! Love from Maryland (America) P.S. Love your vids, can't wait for pt.2!!!!
That is amazing! I really hope they add the ability to raise terrain up to your track instead of having to build and then lower the terrain to avoid the collision hit box.
My gosh this is incredible. How can you still impress me even with your already incredible background..? :D Quick notes: The first Big Thunder Mountain was made by WED and Arrow. All the other ones were Vekoma. The catwalk thing is something from Disney, not Vekoma (their other mine trains don't have them). I guess it's both for inspections and evacuations. (Regular cast members have to walk around the track every morning before opening their attraction, after the maintenance guys already checked it) You are really getting better and better at theme park and ride design. In fact, you are among the very few Planet Coaster builders to really dig into that. Heck, I'm sure your skills would interest real life companies.
Oh I forgot, I guess with the terain textures you can slighlty apply a change of brightness between the bottom and top of the mountain? That would be great for the forced perspective! (lighter at the top, more colorful at the bottom)
Hey Silv. I actually worked on BTMRR at Disneyland for several years. Its not necessarily that they have evac routes every 100ms. The attraction just utilizes its blocks so that you essentially have a SAFETY brake before each lift hill (3 lift hills) and a park brake (before the first lift hill). Keep in mind the 3rd safety brake or zone, is right before the final brake block prior to entering the station. So as far as evac routes go, we could technically evac through the entire attraction at any point. However the safest places to obviously stop the train are in areas of control (Lift Hills, Brake Zones, and of course, the Station itself). It just so happens the attraction is designed to lose enough momentum at each point that it does roughly come out to ~100m. This is not intentionally designed for this reason, its designed for capacity. (BTM pre refurb could accomplish roughly 2300-2400 riders per hour on a 5 train operation). I hope this helps. If you want any other insight be sure to ask!
Also, I'd recommend using Swiss Cog railways as reference, they are the only type of railways you'll find that actually do near 45 degree hills, and are quite popular in Switzerland
Good Ol' Silv, everyones building go kart tracks and here's you building a mine train coaster. I wouldnt mind not having biome painting in every map if it's due to the way the terrain maps layers, as long as they add a separate category for landscape painting that has all the textures plus a brush palette so we can 'fill concrete' squares or make artificial biomes.
Jeez silvarett like holy crap it's been a very very very very long time since I watched one of your videos and I remember being like one of your biggest fans when you were a smaller channel not small but smaller and you even replied to a comment and I must say I got Planet Coaster in the Christmas update it is so fun and I have improved a lot in building. Anyway keep up the good work again. -Sincerely, Donutholes
If you like coasters that interact with the terrain a lot, you'd love Tennessee Tornado. It's an Arrow Custom Looper that plays mine train when it's not taking you through three of the largest inversions on any Arrow Custom Looper, and unlike most Arrows it's actually pretty smooth.
I also used lots of reference images from model railroads when I attempted to make a mine train coaster. I don't think its odd at all since people usually make a logging railroad because it has a lot of nature scenery. You can get a lot of inspiration from them.
The track layout is great so far, I love the double-down section, it feels very natural, smooth but also exciting. You could smooth the right-curve just before the double-up, it could be a bit strong for a mild coaster. (Btw. the double up wouldn't be a huge problem, you could just smooth it...) What I don't like at all is the track just before the lift hill starts. It looks very unnatural and wouldn't be very comfortable, I think. If the section before the lift hill has to be straight (as it is now), maybe make the curve leading towards it a bit bigger. Other than that, I agree with many of the comments: Great coaster so far - and thank you for including a POV, which makes for a great ending to actually ride through everything you did in a video. (You should include those more often.)
I just started on a alpine mine train coaster myself last night for my park after running a poll, that's what people wanted. Interesting to see your video today lol. Hope you don't mind I'll most likely steal a few ideas here :) We are even using the same coasters as inspiration with 7 Dwarves and Grizzly, and even a bit of Expedition Everest.
I'm afraid that's because of my actually, I voted for Mine Train there :p But I guess we're on the same line about these then, so of course I don't mind!
Awww.. makes sense then. I'm having a tough time with the layout on mine. In order to get a few elements that must haves for me it's turning into a longer and larger coaster than I set out to do. I've got to condense it a bit. There's a few ideas on yours layout wise I may try to implement. Looking forward to the next episode. I had seen your teases on twitter and was wondering when there would be a video.
Interesting that you talk about the Miniature-Train-Method, bc that's exactly what brought me to RCT3 and now PC. It brings together both of my favorite Things, Modelling and Rollercoasters, and makes them virtual :D
Removing collisions should really open this game up immensely more so than the content prior already had, primarily for dark rides since it's going to be so much easier to work terrain and rooms around sections of tracks. I'd love to see you try your hand at a dark ride some time soon, but I'm aware you don't necessarily have that kind of time on your hands and it would be one hell of a series on the channel.
Can you tell me how do you build through Terrain without Tunnels and afterwards gently erase terrain until the rails come visible? I don't get it. I tried but only get ugly gaps underneath the rails😢
The catwalk work here is impressive Silv. And now I feel like an idiot when i asked the photoshop question on twitter hahahaha. Im amazingly impressed that trick works and now I want to use it on my Donkey Kong mine train were the locomotive wouldnt work theming wise.
A lovely look, Sil, as always. You know, I wonder about the catwalk/escape issues Disney faces---they do operate in various nations AND of course in two different U.S. states, each with their own "fine print" in safety laws. I have a feeling they've established a company-wide best/worst-case scenario where they can, at least as far as those safety issues, make it "one size fits all." As an L.A. native who's grown up with Disneyland since the start, I have had the experience of a ride shutdown and having to be evac'd on various attractions, and I also think that a lot of the extensive catwalking, even on non-speedy dark rides, was, in the case of older rides, also a product of security concerns. When you leave the rides this way you often see little areas that would have been posted with an observer/cast member to make sure nobody tried to get out of the cars or did something else that now, I'm sure, is covered by security cameras, beam-break gizmos, etc. etc.
After watching so many of his videos up to this point, here's a new drinking game: Take a shot anytime Silv sacrifices the performance of the game for scenery purposes 😂 That being said though, great first episode and looking forward to more in the future!
im austrian/german and in austria in the alps it looks exactly like that what you made there. even its not finished yet it looks really impressive and i prefer scenery coasters. not this insane coasters. perfect would be a coaster with insane sections but also with scenery. ereryone who is german and live in the alps reply this commetn im interestet how many are living in the alps and watching this video
"Just a little mine train"...
[2 years later]
Arguably the most detailed, best looking Planet coaster Ride in existance, finished.
Thank you! :D
2 years later? I'm starting this series for the first time; I suppose I'm in for a real treat.
Another note: A mine train coaster is probably my favorite coaster to just watch and look at. Fascinating, and beautiful.
Same here! :)
DjTechnoid Same dude.
Me and my dad love looking at them to see if we came try match them to real trains love the art work the makers must do
Silvarret's voice is pretty hot anyway... But I always love hearing him say "Hey guys, and welcome to a NEW SERIES of Planet Coaster". The coaster looks like it bends to the mountains more than the mountains to the coaster. It looks so natural, and I love it.
This terrain hugging has been long awaited, and thank you for doing it justice with this series! Bravo!
Yes, as a German, I obviously like this. #Instalike ;-)
Rudi Rennkamel ich auch
Rudi Rennkamel yes, as a Swiss I like it even more already, looks awesome!
man kann gar nicht anders :D
David Spring schwiiz jaa

Silvarret don't tell me that building in videogames can't be art because this obviously is! Nice work done! Can't wait for the next episode.
Silvarret...the Bob Ross of Planet Coaster! Feck yea!
this is already one of the most beautiful parks in planet coaster
I've been waiting for a series like this from you for a loooooonnnnggg time, I'm a huge big thunder nerd, and a train nerd, and this is right up that alley.

at the very start, I liked that look of a little bit of grass peeking over some of the rails giving the illusion that some of them are missing
That layout is great, and the pacing is perfect. Wouldn't change a thing
Looking good, Silv! I can really see the miniature railway inspiration - very similar textures. You've captured that fantastically!
The start of the greatest roller coaster in planet coaster
really looking forward to this build. Around 2 months ago I was in Disney world for a week and the 7 dwarves mine train was really fun, i can see the resemblance. Enjoy watching these and keep up the good work!
Frontier did such an amazing job on the textures this is seriously the first game I have ever seen that made me think it was real life for a second
wow! looks absolutly amazing! i have like 500 hours in PC and think that what i build already looks amazing. But looking at you do it just brings that to another level, great built!
27:40 *BOOM* and just like that, we got those classic Arrow mine cars. And of course, the attention to detail is amazing as always :)
one year later, i still love your video's most.
I just don't know how you do these outstanding creations, this looks so much better with the no collision option, keep up the good work!
really looking forward to this series, I agree with you on mine trains are one of the best rollercoasters out there! :)
That second drop looks intense haha, love it!
I love the custom catwalk work, it looks great and I vote for the bare carts without the train.

This might be my favorite project yet. BTM was my first coaster obsession so this hits close to home for me, ahaha.
Little question/request: is there a chance you give us a sort of 'behind the scenes' in which you show us sketches you made for your coasters/parks? I think that would be incredibly interesting! :)
Keep up the awesome work, Silv, your creations always give me the perfect escapism feeling, the feeling of being away in a wonderful other world that I'm looking for in this game!
As a Swiss guy I'm really exited for this series:)🇨🇭
This is amazing! Keep it up Silvarret

Oh wow. This is just pretty on a whole different level.
Awesome job. After seeing the finished ride, its mind blowing to see where you started on this project.
I am already loving the coaster! Keep up the good work!
Silvaret, you coaster nerd! Nice work! I was waiting to see what you had in store post 1.2 update. You did not disappoint.
I really wish I had this game - you make it look so easy
Johnnyboy2300 yeah it looks easy because he knows what he’s doing, when I play it takes like 2 hours to make i roller coaster 😂
Totally not me coming back to this 7 years later, gathering Silv's perfect creativity for when PlanCo 2 comes out :)
I am playing planet coaster for a couple days now on PS4.
And I am trying to build this insane coaster and park you made. Thank you for this inspiration. Love this park and coaster !!!
Just got this game and this video series has totally inspired me. Awesome content!
I love the second sight line because you can see the three levels of track
Great looking coaster so far!
I'm watching this while waiting in line for Big Thunder Mountain Railroad at Disney!
Wow this was definitely the best one you ever made
it's great to see the master building with the new features :)
Tis is absolutely fantastic. Suddenly I feel like I'm the less creative man on earth!
Is it just me or does someone else want custom trains or the possibility to change the train of a track type?!
Definitely! There are quite a few car types I'd like to have on different tracks in the game.
Suspended wooden coaster let's goooooooo
Well not quite that, but the boomerang's cars on regular corkscrew coaster tracks for Vekoma Loopers, the megacoaster cars on the eurofighter tracks for Intamin Blitz coasters and the Giovanola Inverted cars on the corkscrew coaster tracks for Vekoma SLC's to name some examples.
hahahahaha
I just want to change the color
wow this looks amazing silvarret !!
Love it! You somehow find a way to one up your last project. Keep it up. Like seriously make more!!!
I need part two! This looks awesome! I can't wait to see where it goes.

This looks superb already! Good job man! Love your videos, keep up the good work!
this is one of my fav coasters you have made
Turn off terain collision in settings
Building a custom Jägerhorn Mountain Train... a lot of patience 😂
Looking great Silv!
OMG the fountains haha... RIP framerate
Anyways, Im super hyped about this project! Something about the mine train style rides is so unique.. They are so integrated into their surroundings. Cant wait to see more progress..
Miniature railroads!
very nice
Absolutely love your tutorials!!!!!! Thanks so much!!!!
Great!!! I love BTMR at WDW, EE at WDW! This layout is amazeballs! (quote Keralis) I have a horrible computer, but I'm saving to buy one! You got me into Planet Coaster!
Great name!!!
Love from Maryland (America)
P.S. Love your vids, can't wait for pt.2!!!!
That is amazing! I really hope they add the ability to raise terrain up to your track instead of having to build and then lower the terrain to avoid the collision hit box.
Wow I missed you Silvaret! I watched your videos a long time ago, mostly RCT3. You really make stuff look awesome!
Nice work as always
My gosh this is incredible. How can you still impress me even with your already incredible background..? :D

Looks great! Definitely will be cool to see how things progress with the game now that collision is gone.
So awesome!!!
So beautiful! Really makes me want to play the game
Hey Silv. I actually worked on BTMRR at Disneyland for several years. Its not necessarily that they have evac routes every 100ms. Under that coaster bridge by the lanterns would be a great place for a water fall
the artistry when you did a pond with the fountain with² the floor piece to darken it up.
This is gonna be awesome
Absolutely amazing :)
It's nice to have your vids to remind me of *"How I suck at making coaster in this game"* thanks
I just recently went to Disney World and this reminds me of Big Thunder Mountain Railroad !!!! makes me miss it 😢😊
