Dale Hollow is still world record SM. Best ramp for winter pool is the ramp at the dam. Grasshopper is safe enough for parking, but be careful getting out to the main lake at winter pool. I have been using Grasshopper for 25 years. It's a pay ramp, currently $5.
My daughter loves up the road a bit from Harrison Bay State Park, so I typically launch at the park. It’s not the best winter pool ramp but it is free, safe, and convenient. Nice video!!!
We stay at Talkin Tackle's lodge in Hixson when we put in at Chester Frost, not bad for the price and is very clean, only issue is its part of their tackle shop so you end up spending more money on tackle than you need , I live less than an hour from Dayton but that part of the lake hasn't been kind to me lol
@SonarFishing I have to video suggestions for ya that id love you to do one is what lures do you bank fish withe when its windy and the second i what lures would ya use for florida bank fishing now and going into the winter months
Unfortunately I’m not sure about lodging options down there other than the RV park that is on the lake there, and whatever lodging they have in Jasper.
There is a sharp drop off at the end of the ramp at the lowest water levels. Go slow because you can easily drop off the edge and that’s not good for your trailer obviously
Sonarfishing- Bravo-what a amazing footage~ 🎥

The Chickamauga Day Use Ramp is the ramp that was used for the launch of the 1986 Bassmasters Classic.
Thanks miles!! Great stuff💪💪

Maybe one day I will make it to Chick! Good video Miles
Hope you do!
I wouldn't waste your time. It's not the lake it once was, sad.
@SonarFishing do a video on your lure recommendations on the Rainbow River and withlacoochee river in Dunnellon Florida!!!!

Rob, Ill look into doing something around this topic. Thanks for the suggestion!
Think I will just stay at home here with Toledo Bend & Lake Sam Rayburn. Thanks for the knowledge though!!!
Agree there's too much fishing pressure. Too many boats/tournaments but see it getting worse.
I want to fish nickajack and am looking for lodging. What are your suggestions?

Thanks. How about further north, around Hixon?
How is the Dayton ramp at winter pool?

A good spot to rip off a trailer axle or get stuck. Then you get to dodge the rocks getting out to the main river. Better stay home til summer.
Seen several trailers end up off the lowest edge of ramp. Not good! Once water gets below 676.0 most ramps will be sketchy at best
I’ve seen the same.
Don't ever go on a major holiday if you're going fishing. River traffic is terrible.
Always over harvesting big fish.
