    I feel your pain. Same thing happened to me once on a big, fast ramp - not enough speed, front wheel hit the front of the landing ramp, wheel disappeared beneath me and ... BANG! ... I landed head first over the other side with the bike on top of me. Thank f*** for full-face helmets. 😄 Applaud you keeping going!

    You jump better than I do, I hate jumping now and avoid it if I can, which is weird as I used to do big vert ramps and 25ft+ jumps as a teenager. Although breaking my back twice and neck once probably don't help. Much prefer steep tech now. Props for getting straight back on after the crash👍

    • @laurendarlene2
      @laurendarlene2  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks, I actually enjoy riding tech more but there’s not much of that where I’m from so I’m trying to get used to jumps. Ouch, must have been some nasty crashes!

      @@laurendarlene2yeh very painful, last time was 2019, i got back riding April/may this year so very rusty and alot more hesitant.. Half the battle is getting out your head after a nasty off which you managed to do quickly..👍

    "Speed is your friend"
    Technique is your friend*
    The amount of times I've witnessed riders say stuff like, "Just get over the axle" then leading someone down to a Air ambulance call out is mind boggling.
    But it takes dedication to overcome a pretty hard crash, so hats off to you and keep shredding it. 💯

    PLZ like this comment and make it to this creator.
    This comment is not meant to be rude or hateful in any shape or form, but I am rather looking out for your safety, and many many many others. It has become obvious to me and a lot of other experienced riders that over half of the mountain biking, BMX riding, and racing community is full of beginners who look at the experienced riders jumping, and doing tricks, and other things that do require a lot of skill. This ultimately leads to the beginner riders thinking that in order to get to their, they must jump right into it without really being familiar with a bike at all. And it has become quite obvious that when you see these beginner riders on the trails, they do not know at all what they are doing. To fix this or rather get to that higher level of riding faster and safer, the key part is to ride on your bike all the time, especially on just flat roads and become familiar with your bike and become comfortable and have better bike maneuverability, because with all due respect, you are out there on the trails with absolutely no idea what you were doing because you think it is a necessity to be at a higher level than you are.

    Hi, I'm a novice rider and a crash like yours is my worst nightmare. I've seen it happen to lots of riders at the bike park. How did it happen? and how could have it been avoided? Also how come you got bloody? Did the full face not protect you enough? Btw, you are still gorgeous even with blood on your face so I'd say you are super lucky!

    • @laurendarlene2
      @laurendarlene2  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      There was a couple of reasons for this crash, firstly I was thinking more about the last feature than the jump I was on and secondly I didn’t commit to the jump at the last minute. If I’d just pulled up I’d have been ok. As for the blood, I was just unlucky with the angle my face hit the floor. My nose took the impact and my septum piercing went through my lip. I used to be so scared of crashing and I still am but honestly I was fine after this, looked worse than it was!!

    that was nice riding! What happened that made you crash? Was it a bail? Anyway, I think that was a wise decision to not hit the on/off, if you werent feeling it even though it was CLEARLY within your ability, especially after you pushed through and sent that third gap. Curious - have you been back to clear the line?
