HITTING HUGE KICKERS AT PHOENIX BIKEPARK
One thing about me is I HATE gap jumps! They've always been my weakness but I made 2024 the year to conquer my fears and send them and I have finally made some progress! Hitting these kickers for the first time with a headwind was hard work, there were many cases but hopefully get them clean next time.
When we turned up at Phoenix I had no intention of filming a vlog as I just wanted to have chill ride, but the send was strong and I spent the day sending new things with Lola. I remember the first time I visited Phoenix and saw those kickers and thought they were HUGE, even a couple months back watching my friend hit them for the first time I didn't think Id ever be able to do it but I'm so stocked to have hit them.

SENDY DAY AT WINDHILL
มุมมอง 949 หลายเดือนก่อน
The NRTV squad ventured to Windhill to tick off some features. The weather was not completely on our side but we managed to have 2 sick days and everyone sent it. Huge shoutout to @charlottelucythompson for hyping me up and being the sendiest girl this weekend. Smashed the step up. I ticked off some new features and was eyeing up the big drop until the rain started which put me off a little, al...
How did we end up on Racetrack!
มุมมอง 1.4K10 หลายเดือนก่อน
The squad headed back to Dyfi Bik Park again and were blessed with some good weather in January. Unheard of for Wales so we took advantage of it and took a look at Racetrack for the first time ever. I wouldn't say I rode the track, after a look I certainly have some features to start ticking off on this line. Excited to go back again soon and give it a real go now I know whats on the track. Alw...
RIDING THE BIGGEST INDOOR SKATEPARK
มุมมอง 127ปีที่แล้ว
Winters in England are cold, wet and miserable so its the perfect time to grab a jumpbike and head to an indoor park. Adrenaline alley in Corby is HUGE! There is so much to ride, foam pits, resis, street sections, bowls and the infamous rhythm room to name a few. I have been to Corby a couple times now and always feel completely overwhelmed by how big it is and my lack of skill but there is onl...
LEARNING NO HANDERS WITH THE GIRLS
มุมมอง 371ปีที่แล้ว
I met up with a bunch of female riders at my local bike park - Twisted Oaks -for a ride and social day. It was the best!! Had so much fun meeting new people and catching up with friends I don't get to ride with often. The vibe was so chilled, no pressure to do anything other than have a good time. There were girls of all levels riding so it was great to see some hitting big lines and throwing t...
Dirt Farm is fun in any weather!
มุมมอง 866ปีที่แล้ว
Me and some of the squad headed to Wales for the weekend in October. Unfortunately there was a huge storm in the UK that week so it had been raining for days. After a couple runs I realised even though the floor was greasy and muddy there was so much grip! I just had to trust myself and my tyres and keep pushing my speed. I got too scared to hit some new features but that just means I get to go...
Girls ride at Woburn Trails
มุมมอง 604ปีที่แล้ว
I met up with a bunch of female riders for a ride and social day, it was so nice to go meet some new people and ride with girls with such varied styles/abilities. Watching some of the girls shred was amazing and made me want to keep progressing to ride bigger things!! Of course the guys came too and we had some laps with them also, some carnage at the top section, as always. Cant wait for the n...
I GOT MY DREAM BIKE
มุมมอง 1.1Kปีที่แล้ว
Spontaneously purchased my dream bike a couple weeks ago, I've been looking for a new bike for a while and this was out of my budget BUT I found a great deal and couldn't say no! So I picked up the girls and we headed to Phoenix Bike Park to get used to the new bike, hit some new features and started to feel comfortable. Obviously with a couple sketchy moments as always!
SKETCHY RIDING AT DYFI BIKE PARK
มุมมอง 1.8Kปีที่แล้ว
Another wet and wonderful weekend at Dyfi bikepark, struggled all weekend with my bike set up and had multiple close calls including almost having a massive OTB right in front of the cafe! Pushed myself to go bigger and almost paid for it! Everytime I ride Dyfi I leave feeling so under biked... is it time for something bigger? Snuffy and the guys sent some of the bigger features like the oakley...
MY BIGGEST CRASH YET! At Twisted Oaks
มุมมอง 51Kปีที่แล้ว
Trying a new line does not always go to plan and that is what happened on Badger Trap at Twisted Oaks bike park. This is the worst crash I have had while riding jumps so far, very lucky to not get any bad injuries. I had a nose ring in that went through my lip and hit my teeth, that is what caused the blood. I think i need to learn how to bail properly to avoid this again, still unsure what wen...
Gap progress at Twisted Oaks
มุมมอง 987ปีที่แล้ว
Fun and challenging day at Twisted Oaks bike park pushing myself to try lines I have never attempted. Gaps have always been my weakness but with some help from friends I feel I am finally starting to make progress. There will definitely be a part 2 to this video so subscribe to see how I get on next time
DJ sesh at Radical Bikes

Fun but very scary day riding my Saracen Amplitude at Radical Bikes in Chelmsford. I've only ever ridden my jump bike a handful of times and barely got both wheels off the floor other than into foam pits so this was a great day of new things and pushing myself. Had my squad there as always to hype me up and push me to overcome my fears. Cant wait to go back when I feel a bit more confident and ...
Big Squad at Woburn Trails
มุมมอง 183ปีที่แล้ว
Huge NRTV squad meetup at Woburn Trails. Back to Woburn for a bit of redemption after a nasty OTB last year, so good to ride in such a huge train! Building a bit of confidence riding jumps finally, can't wait to go back and tick off some bigger features!
New Flowstate insta360 line at Dyfi Bike Park
มุมมอง 530ปีที่แล้ว
Riding the new black line at Dyfi Bike Park, the previous day had been nothing but rain so parts of the trail were super slick. Such a cool new line with so much going on, slab, root sections, boner log, huge switchback berms and some massive jumps. Cant wait to go back again and push myself to tick off the features I didn't do this time!!
Charlotte with....friends
I feel your pain. Same thing happened to me once on a big, fast ramp - not enough speed, front wheel hit the front of the landing ramp, wheel disappeared beneath me and ... BANG! ... I landed head first over the other side with the bike on top of me. Thank f*** for full-face helmets. 😄 Applaud you keeping going!
Well done you....inspirational
so nice to see the support of everyone else, what a fucking slam, imagine you didnt have a full face on!
YES LAUREN !!! 😄
You Look Absolutely Fabulous Lauren. This Place Looks Incredible ❤
It looked like a good couple of days riding 👍
Great job!👏🙌
The best Bikepark with the best people <3
Love this, skate parks are super humbling. Looks nice and quiet, did you go on a random week day?
It was extremely humbling! Yeah this was on a Friday, nice and quiet so there was less pressure. I’ve been on a weekend before and it was so busy
Seems like a cool place to test out your skills
Currently recovering from surgery, and you’ve given me such motivation to get back on my back and bring my girls with me!!! Thanks so much for your content!!
Hope you have a speedy recovery and can get back out there soon!! Nothing better than spending the day with your girls!
Hi, I'm a novice rider and a crash like yours is my worst nightmare. I've seen it happen to lots of riders at the bike park. How did it happen? and how could have it been avoided? Also how come you got bloody? Did the full face not protect you enough? Btw, you are still gorgeous even with blood on your face so I'd say you are super lucky!
There was a couple of reasons for this crash, firstly I was thinking more about the last feature than the jump I was on and secondly I didn’t commit to the jump at the last minute. If I’d just pulled up I’d have been ok. As for the blood, I was just unlucky with the angle my face hit the floor. My nose took the impact and my septum piercing went through my lip. I used to be so scared of crashing and I still am but honestly I was fine after this, looked worse than it was!!
The only reason for the crash is that you were concentrating on the big jump not the little one. Well done for geting back on legend.
Where are all the hot mtb girls where I ride? I need to try this place out
Hi there, I've just got my wife into mountain biking and she is really enjoying it. Would it be possible if we tagged along one time and did a couple of laps with you? I think it would be a real confidence boost for her to have other girls to ride with.
What a savage. Glad your ok. I did a jump in hawaii called " widow maker" it almost made me. 8 broken ribs and punctured lung.
I tought thoes helmets offered more protection.
It's just over coming your nerves
Not clear to me how this activity could be funny, pushing the bike uphill, descending downhill with great risks for your personal safety and for your bike ...

Smashing video and a real adventure of a day! It looks like you might want to play with your rendering settings to optimize for this platform as you are not getting 1440p. If I remember correctly it's something to do with the codec that youtube uses for certain settings. Not a criticism in anyway, the videos rock as they are, just an observation.
Thanks! I’ll have a look into that, I still have so much to learn around video editing
@@laurendarlene2 It certainly is a steep learning curve. I don't know what software you use but I can highly recommend Davinci Resolve. It's completely free to download (there is a pro version but that really is for pros so you don't need it) and there is no watermark or any restrictions on the free version. There are heaps of good tutorials on here, MrAlexTech is a good channel. I haven't uploaded in ages as I've been ill but if you get stuck, give me a shout and I'll grab my export settings from one of my vids and share them with you. Keep up the great work and best of luck with your channel!
Damn I need to go here, looks sick
It’s so much fun! We should do a group trip or girls day next year
You jump better than I do, I hate jumping now and avoid it if I can, which is weird as I used to do big vert ramps and 25ft+ jumps as a teenager. Although breaking my back twice and neck once probably don't help. Much prefer steep tech now. Props for getting straight back on after the crash👍
Thanks, I actually enjoy riding tech more but there’s not much of that where I’m from so I’m trying to get used to jumps. Ouch, must have been some nasty crashes!
@@laurendarlene2yeh very painful, last time was 2019, i got back riding April/may this year so very rusty and alot more hesitant.. Half the battle is getting out your head after a nasty off which you managed to do quickly..👍
Just got a 29er Cannondale so much difference to a 27.5 feels a lot more faster
Congrats on the new bike! Never tried a full 29er, mine is a mullet and feels much faster than my old 27.5
You should have gloves on.
That's what a full face helmet is for.. .The idiot riding lidless will get a harsh lesson one day.
Agreed, never ride without mine!

So brave…be safe
PLZ like this comment and make it to this creator. This comment is not meant to be rude or hateful in any shape or form, but I am rather looking out for your safety, and many many many others. It has become obvious to me and a lot of other experienced riders that over half of the mountain biking, BMX riding, and racing community is full of beginners who look at the experienced riders jumping, and doing tricks, and other things that do require a lot of skill. This ultimately leads to the beginner riders thinking that in order to get to their, they must jump right into it without really being familiar with a bike at all. And it has become quite obvious that when you see these beginner riders on the trails, they do not know at all what they are doing. To fix this or rather get to that higher level of riding faster and safer, the key part is to ride on your bike all the time, especially on just flat roads and become familiar with your bike and become comfortable and have better bike maneuverability, because with all due respect, you are out there on the trails with absolutely no idea what you were doing because you think it is a necessity to be at a higher level than you are.
If your all good you defo done best thing getting straight back on it good on ya🤙🏻
Great riding 😂😂 try braking less in the berms, brake before the turn because braking in the berm is throwing you off balance and pushing you to the outside and instead of gaining speed you lose speed and flow there :)
Sweet sleeve
Thanks!
Great video, tells a story and easy to watch along with your crew 👍
Thanks so much!
Sam Pilgrim fancys you.
Are you suprised
11:54 The fact that your first run after a crash like that was smoother than your first runs does mean you've gotten better quite a bit though..
Gotta say, that was a nice scorpion move!!! Excellently executed!!! 😉 Hope you are doing well.
😂 my signature move!
@@laurendarlene2you still look fit even after the crash ❤
I had pretty much the same crash last November, bit of a sore neck for 2 months. Glad you OK 🤙
as a californian rider....welcome to santa cruz! go get it girl!
Hi,I have a crash in here too😎 , good luck !!💪💪
that was nice riding! What happened that made you crash? Was it a bail? Anyway, I think that was a wise decision to not hit the on/off, if you werent feeling it even though it was CLEARLY within your ability, especially after you pushed through and sent that third gap. Curious - have you been back to clear the line?
"Speed is your friend" Technique is your friend* The amount of times I've witnessed riders say stuff like, "Just get over the axle" then leading someone down to a Air ambulance call out is mind boggling. But it takes dedication to overcome a pretty hard crash, so hats off to you and keep shredding it. 💯
Amazing park for progression. Glad you made it through crash that without too much damage. 👍
Damn those gaps getting sent
sikk.. you're so lucky to have such a ride do a show tell vid about it..
Hey, good stuff! Saw your crash vid! Good stuff for getting back up! subscribed!
Thanks so much for subscribing 🙂
your amazing and id love to ride with you! will you please come out to duthie hill in washington please!
Ride safe😀✌🏼
Hang in there and be patient - it will come. Glad you're ok.
Great effort, rode well, brave. Next time for sure 😊
Run in once or twice…. that’s okay. Three or four, everyone’s thinking, just send it already. Any more than that is like nails on a chalk board. 🤣
