She grew the company 20x and had it acquired twice and made dave hundreds of millions of dollars, without Erica it would have always been the pirateship.
I feel like that’s a bit harsh, but I think her and a couple others at the top could take a pay cut until the company is profitable again. It’d be a way they could come in the room and say, “I know it sucks right now, but we all have to make some sacrifices to right this ship, including me.”

Reign it in and bring it back to what made it great, it will work. Stoolies here to stay.
They’ve talked about it the last few days on radio - revenue at all costs, so Penn propped barstool up to try to drive the gambling business. Didn’t work out that way.
"In such a state." It's a simple matter of the Penn deal being done with. They brought a bunch of money and resources to Barstool as a partner. That money and resource well is gone, so they have to make cuts. They still have 300 employees which is much more than when the CEO took over. Surely you understand that.
Dave already explained all this. she was ordered to grow at a loss by Penn, they said they would happily cover the losses, the directive was to hire and grow as fast as possible so when gambling legal issues eventually sorted themselves out they could funnel more customers into it. Then Penn decides they can't ultimately pull it off and drops Barstool - leaving them with a $1million+ negative monthly balance to cover if Dave wants to keep it running. So the only option is to un-do the directives that Penn gave them and refocus, and fire people to make up for the $1m month deficit that Penn had them take on. You can't blame the kids for something the parents made them do
I started to disagree and then thought more and yea. She’s gotta own that sales structure and HR shenanigans. Also Erica is the huge loser in all of this. She was hired by chernan group to get the company purchased and make them money. Then Penn used her to a point but she should be looking for a new position in a company that is headed up. Barstool can offer her no equity and there’s basically no way forward for her but to go to another company
You have zero idea what her comp plan is. Dave can own “100% of the company” and Erica could have a massive profit sharing bonus plan, options/incentive units, etc.
There are 300 people left? Wow. I wonder how many employees Dave thinks are *really* needed to run the company. He obviously tried to stabilize it and plug the losses rather than having an unnecessary bloodbath.
I think a few people at the top could probly take a bit of a pay cut until the company becomes profitable again and it’d really help motivate everyone else to work harder to get things turned around
Stu Feiner is contracted for 5-6 months and he is out and home for the rest. Smart business man. Seriously though, it’s sucks many were let go but the huge hit would have come a year or year and a half later and that would have been the proverbial nail on the coffin.
