I agree and disagree at the same time. I grew up in a strict home, no boyfriend allowed until 18. Even throughout college my parents deterred me from dating
Fast forward, my friends/cousins/peers met their spouse in high school or college meanwhile I didn’t because I was focused on obeying my parents and getting my degrees
I low key regret but am still grateful because now most of my friends have since divorced their high school/college sweetheart
@sisterlove2733 You know what, this day & age that's usually the case because people and their desires, outlook on life change. Sometimes maturity and what really matters has settled in after SOME of us become adults. I am so soooo grateful to God I didn't get married to my high school or college boyfriends. I saw some things in a couple of them I didn't want to build a foundation on....., and I was young!!! Only giving God the praise for wisdom at that age.
My mother convinced my dad to allow me to date at 17/18 because she didn't want to give me an opportunity to do it behind their back is what she told me when I got older.
Anywhoo... many of my friends and classmates that married young are divorced now too. One couple I know of at my church married out of college, they are still together, although infidelity/adultery on the husband's part was involved.
