Congrats Brandoh! It’s like you’ve been peeking at my Business Christmas wish list- for exactly the same reason. Patches are so much easier to achieve perfect hats- adhesive can be tricky as I have learned. Im familiar with sewing so I can’t wait until I can get mine
I've been using a post machine to sew patches on hats for a while. It takes more time than doing a heat press but it is more secure. If you have a patch with a Merrow edge sew just inside the edge.
My husband has that machine he uses it to make tennis shoes. Now I'm a sewer but I'm intimidated by that thing, maybe because he had so much trouble learning it. He has it now he just put a patch on a varsity jacket a few days back it looks nice too
Been shopping for a post bed sewing machine as well. I’m also a beginner. I’ve been looking at this same machine. I want a machine that I can really slow down. Not sure this one can got very slow but I think in order to go slow you have to hold the wheel.
You should be able to now offer patches on shirts apparel since they are being sewn on they won't get messed up like a heat pressed applied patch cant really take all the washes and needs to be hand washed.
Sewing is easy. You got this. Play with it for a couple of weeks and it will be old hat for you. I will say, find yourself a good sewing machine repair shop. A good repair shop is worth their weight in gold.
yes if you know how to sew. no if you dont. im having a hard time learning the machine cuz i know nothing about sewing. i bit off more than i can chew so navigating the learning curve is my biggest struggle right now. i dont have alot of time to dedicate to learning the machine cuz of the work load in my shop. but every spare minute i get, im trying to learn it.
Hey Double B, have you ever looked into this white toner printer thing? If so, what is your take? I like the idea of the small foot print as opposed to a full screen print shop but not sure if thats the only benefit. Do you know of anyone who uses this method of printing?
How nice of Ricoma to assemble the table. Mine came in pieces. The instructions are absolutely terrible. I think they need to revamp the installation process for customers. There are videos, but you dont know if you dont ask. Ricoma will email them to you. Also you may want to buy a Speed Reducer to turn the speed way down to sew patches on hats.
I got the 16x20 Signature Pro refurbished and it’s straight up solid. Initially, the SurePressure dial would slip, but after reaching out to customer service (spectacular btw) I got it fixed and never had an issue since. I’d recommend going refurbished if you want to save a little cash.
Hey Brando, could you please create an updated video regarding the sewing machine and its process?
Very cool! Can’t wait to see the progress.

I have had clients that insisted on having patches sewn on. In guessing they had a bad experience w another shop and their patches.
Any updates on this machine looking to purchase
Thanks for all the info Brotha. You are the Man! 🤙🏽
Thank you for sharing about this machine. Great information. Really enjoyed watching the set up. They couldn't have delivered it to your shop?
Probably good for sewing on hem tags.
