Who is the media and the fanbase to decide what the punishment should be? With that logic, then everyone should have cameras inside their homes so everyone can be judged by the media and the public for what happens inside your own home. Let's take it further; let's require cameras in all public companies so the media and the public can render judgment on any office dispute that happens in a workplace.
I'm totally fine with the Warriors decision. The only reason this is the "biggest crisis" is because the media profits from making things a crisis.
While I don't condone what Green did, everyone is beating a dead horse.
Did you hear what Kerr said a few days ago? I am paraphrasing here, but he said, "In the 32 years I've been in the league, I've seen 20 fist fights. The only difference is that none of them were ever recorded on video" for the public to render judgment.
Sorry, I don't care if you are a fan, have season tickets, think you pay an athletes salary (you don't). You don't get to render judgment on players, except within your own mind.

Welcome to society! Draymond is an integral part of a team whose 4 championships have made a lot of people a LOT of money and directly resulted in a new arena being built in one of the wealthiest areas of the world (SF). You punching your coworker out isn't comparable. The more money, status, and power you have, the more insulated you are from any consequences.
What "should" happen or what is "fair" is completely irrelevant. That's how things operate in a culture dominated by the dollar. American's have the delusion that we are all "equal" when that couldn't be further from the truth. People are not treated equally in this country in *_any_* regard. Draymond facing the same consequences as the average person would hurt the franchise greatly (more importantly it would hurt potential profits). Therefore, he will not face those consequences.
The warriors are not concerned with doing the "right" thing. They are concerned with winning another championship.
Wait until you find out how the legal system actually works. (hint: the more money you spend the more successful you will be in court). Or politics. Or literally anything.

"In December 1977, NBA Commissioner Larry O’Brien suspended Kermit Washington for 60 days and fined him $10,000 for hitting Rudy Tomjanovich."
(adjusted for inflation and average NBA player salary, that fine would be well over $2 Million today).
This one event effectively Ended Kermit Washington's NBA Career. (back when I had respect for the NBA)
Fast forward to today: Rudy Tomjanovich is in the NBA Hall of Fame.
    Kermit Washington is in *Prison*

@@weightpushweight5769 One needs to understand the _Legal Definition._ The legal difference between a fight and *Criminal Assault* is:
"A fight becomes assault and battery after initial hostilities have ended and one party reinitiates physical conflict with another."
      Let's review-
First off, there was no "Fight" at all. Period. There was a verbal altercation. Green _Escalated_ the encounter by initiating the first contact (chest bumping), Poole pushed him away and *retreated.* Green then sucker punches his teammate, knocking him unconscious.
In criminal justice, there is a term called "one punch homicide". But today's NBA no longer has a zero tolerance policy on violence. Matter of fact, just like the NFL (Ray Rice can knock out a female - and still get paid to play, whereas Kaepernick _silently kneels_ in protest of racist Police brutality and is blackballed from his profession, losing probably $100 Million in earnings), the NBA is ok with its "hood rats" hurting one another - I guess because they beleive its a biological tendency of lower forms of life.
So we can play the nuance game of justification of violence where the celebrity's we worship act under alternate Laws, as long as its within the cultural boundaries of an inherently violent society.
