Trying to rescue a gator shot by crossbow TWICE and shotgun

In this video we try our best to rescue an alligator that has two crossbow arrowheads embedded in her skull, and upon X-ray we discover she’s also been shot with a shotgun across the face as well as a third projectile in the body. This is a very sad case of animal cruelty where some horrible human was using this animal as target practice. This gator is only 27lbs, it doesn’t pose any risk and they’re not trying to eat it, it’s just horrible humans being horrible. One of the arrows missed the brain by less than an inch.
We are so thankful to Kim, Charles, and Dr Kushnir for rushing out to try to save this poor alligator.

Anyone who does this needs to be arrested and charged with animal cruelty and should be jailed for life 😢

To think that this gator survived being a hatchling against all odds, avoided being eaten by another gator or a heron, managed to grow to this size, only to have the misfortune to encounter humans. And if your theory is correct and they tricked her with food so they could torture her, that level of cruelty is disgusting and infuriating. You all tried so hard to save her, it was an amazing effort by everyone involved. Rest easy, sweet Archer.💚
I wish they would make stronger laws against animals. There's no reason for it. I'm so sorry. At it least the veteran and you and Gabby were trying to help.

This video is a prime example of the worst among us and the absolute BEST among us. To think that anyone would shoot this poor animal and use it for target practice makes me nauseous. I really want to find this person or persons and see that they are prosecuted and publicly shamed. At the same time we have people like Chris and Gabby who poor their heart, soul, time and treasure into trying to save animals like this. In the end they were not successful but they allowed this beautiful creature of God to die with some dignity and not in pain among people who cared for it more and showed it mercy and kindness in its final moments. To think that if Chris and Gabby and the team of wonderful doctors and the trapper who found her had not done what they did, she would have died alone and with arrow heads and shot gun pellets stuck in her. It just makes me so sad to think of that.

Psychopaths without a shred of decency. It's terrible I know, but the saying that "you will harvest from whatever seeds you are sowing."
I believe these sorts of folk will have to live with the repercussions of their cruelty for the rest of their lives.

I'm at a loss for words, but also want to thank the people who tried to help Archer (despite the hopeless situation). It was hard watching her in so much pain, probably confused- I can't imagine how difficult it was for anyone there, trying to help her despite the gravity of the situation.
Though, I also can't imagine anyone targeting such a helpless little thing. So many things about this boggle my mind. I guess the best way to describe it is I am stunned and humbled that I belong to a species where one group could hurt an animal like that. Though, I'm just plain humbled by the fact that there were people who tried to save her.

This is why i have respect for people like Gabby and Chris Gillette. Plus for a year now they are building there own sanctuary to keep animals alive and to be loved. I wish that i had miljoen dollars so i can/ would help them with money and everything they need. Oh gracious - I'd just commented on Chris' FB, and I realize yesterday I pretty much had to have watched this in me sleep. Rewatching. Even though this was a hard series of days, it is still wonderful to see how much care Chris & Gabby have for the animals (and also all the things we don't see that they do for them and each other to be able to continue to do all they do.
My heart breaks for this poor animal and you all, as her caretakers. 💔😞

All I coulld think of while watching this ,was that poor little girl. She couldn't have been more then 5 years old. No she didn't deserve that treatment. Whoever did this to her could be abusing other animals or even humans. You did your level best for her as did all the vets. She is at peace and will never be in pain or fear again.

This poor animal, humans can be such monsters. Really sad she didn't make it, but thank you for doing the best you could and providing her with some peace at the end. Hopefully, her suffering was greatly reduced by your actions and that's the best that could be done given the circumstances.
Sincerely hope whoever did this gets caught. We'll probably never know, but we can hope they're stopped from doing this to more animals.
