When ahead build defensive is the best tip ever. You don't need to buy damage, because you are ahead in level so you have more points in your spells and R executes harder. Focusing on defensive will allow you to commit more on engages, which you will need, any competent losing team won't commit and will try to stall for late and also will make harder to give up your bounty.
I used to be an Aftershock enjoyer (and I still like it), but HoB is just so good to get early kills in lane. I didn't even realize CO is literally just Aftershock but without dealing damage in the explosion. I can't count how many kills I've s̶t̶o̶l̶e̶n̶ secured because of Aftershock.

I go Celestial all games, no matter what. Never Bloodsong - unless someone with enough Twitch Channel Points buy the "Go Bloodsong" :P But yea, if I am ahead, I will still go Frozen Heart if I see that the enemies are heavy AD, or their strongest are all AD, etc. It helps your team, as well as yourself! You can ofc go full damage as well, but going defensive items over damage items will be more consistent in like 95% of the cases.
