6:06 That works if holes are of the same size.But the principle is the same if you have one hole bigger than the other-you take measurement from two walls of the hole that are spaced most apart and then you reduce two times half of the hole size(one time radius of left hole and and one time radius of right hole) from that measurement and you got your center distance.
