Just bought one. Delivered tday. So far. I dig it. Itl have an easy life. I don't mud in Florida. It's fer sand trails. Time will tell. Thanks for your vid. It sold me.
My brother helped me to pull thd carb . Just to be certain. Jets are clear. Pilot and main. Float level is spot on. Was just water. I'm a retired auto tech. Gives me something to do.
Nice Video. Very informative. In 2021, I was deciding between the Recon and Brute Force. I wanted the Honda so I could shift gears manually, but the out the door prices were $1 thousand to 1.5k more than the Brute Force 300. Also, Kawasaki had a 1 year 0% financing deal, so I got the Brute Force. I knew it was built by Kymco. I hace a Kymco scooter that's well built and runs great, so I didn't worry. The Brute Force 300 has been a great quad, and it'll go really fast. The motor has an approx 11:1 compression ratio, so its snappy. Plastics are very tough. I put a Ricochet Off Road skid plate on it -- which I highly recommend. Last year I got a deal on a used 2021 Kymco Mongoose 270. It uses the same engine as the Brute Force 300. There is no difference in quality between the Kymco and Kawi branded quads. Plastics are nice on each and components, welds, paint, and overall fit and finish are comparable. Where Kymco fails is in their dealer support. There aren't many dealers in the US and their corporation can't seem to decide whether or not to support the US market. I can still get engine parts from Kawasaki, but most other parts for the Mongoose 270 will have to be ordered from Europe :(. I consider the Mongoose as a sport version of the Brute Force 300.
I got 250 miles on it now. This platform hasnt changed since 2013. Its awaum. The bf never leaves me for wanting more. And its a beast. Still trying to get used to her.
Kymco is a Taiwanese motorcycle manufacturer headquartered in Kaohsiung, Taiwan. With approximately 3000 employees, Kymco produces over 570,000 vehicles annually at its factory in Kaohsiung. The company also has production facilities in Indonesia, Malaysia, and PR China.
I have a 2013 model brute force 300 for 9 years and I have already completed 37,000 miles, I already had a 2007 model bayou 250, since I bought the brute force 300 I use it every day as my transport in a small city, they are very comfortable to wear It drives, has good speed, brakes are excellent, and the Bayou 250 has been sitting in my garage. i totally agree about what you say about the brute force 300. keep in mind that the transmission uses a different oil and does not have a sight glass and should be changed at the end of the miles. You should also check and if necessary change the rear axle bearings, mainly those on the left side because they only have factory grease. The same happens with the bearings of the arms of the front suspension. Thanks for the video.
Awesome info thanks just took mine on a 35mile rough trail ride yesterday its a beast I ran right with a 600 4x4 all day.climbed everything he did. I'll do another video soon.
My son just got a 2024 bf300 and I'm a Honda guy. Have been since I was a little boy. BUT I rode this thing a few times in the past few days and I've got to say I was impressed! I did most of my riding on a 1999 TRX400ex. But honestly id get one for the woods and mudding. Extremely impressed over here.
Yr welcome I wish someone had did a review like this before we bought the second new Recon..So far the Kaw has been awesome and my Son rides it more than the Recon.
I got 500 miles on mine. Now. Soo much fun. I have the limit screw in. Any time i want if faster i just turn a screw. ... i have discipline issues. So the limit screw helps. Lol
Got to take this bf. To the sand trails. It's ridiculous. I got the govt screw in all the way for break in. I'm very happy with her. The low is a great creeper. She idles up steep hills with me and mom on the back. She gets halfway on the temp gauge. So far. So good. The park brake sucks. But she don't roll in deep sugar sand. Lol. So far I'm very impressed. Thank you for the info. It sold me. I know I made a good choice.
Il never understand why peeps drown there quads in water. But to each there own. If I wanted a canoe or mud boat. I woulda bought one. I had a bad street bike accident. So this is just. A very nice. Substitute. .... my motorized. Wheelchair. I suppose. Thank you very informative
It's faster than I expected. Actually. Waaay faster. I had to turn in the gov screw. Il get used to her. She runs 2 bars on the temp. Sure is a different world for me. So far so good.
I use 89 and a bit of marvel mystery oil. Its a bit of a pain to start cold. But once she warm. No issues. She got some compression. Using the pull start. Like kicking an old harly shovelhead.
Sorry if you mentioned it in the video maybe I missed it, but do the motors feel much different in power? I know on paper there's like a 5 to 6 hp difference.
Have a 2018 brute force 300, they're good little ATVs so far just have under 300 miles on it and still running strong, i was thinking that the CVT transmission wouldn't hold up but so far no issue it's definitely faster on takeoff then my 2003 electric shift honda recon 250 but the Honda tops out higher i usually end up passing the brute force after 3rd gear but the breaks definitely are a while lot better on the brute force the recon feels scary sometimes but it also has a big bore kit and a upgraded carb so it's way more punchy then the brute force so it's a tough decision although I'm pretty sure the Honda will outlast the kawasaki
My take after 150 miles. It's no kids quad or wife's quad. The park brake sucks. I had to put the govt screw back in. Has a powerband of a snowmobile. Once the driven clutch engages. It's a rocket ship. Cold starts can be a pain. But once it is warm. Instant start. Plenty fast fer this old man. Maybe too much. Cheers
When peeps drown there quads. They cook the clutch. Bearings and seals. I believe that what causes. The leakage. Got my cold start issue resolved. Water in the fuel. ....... these units sit with little or no fuel. Condensation. Builds. I drained the float and watched it separate in a mason jar. So I drained the whole system twice. Good to go. Pdi. My ass
that brute force will be giving you another opinion in a year or so, or maybe sooner. They are NOT durable where the recons will be around, always running forever
i literally got a recon from the garbage. i dissasembled it fully and fixed alot of things including the steering bearing, valves and of course the carburetor. it is now fully working. my only problem is the tires. even at 25yo i can feel the quality of the machine.
Those 300cc are made in Taiwan by Kymco which sells the same atv under MXU 300 name in Europe for last 15 years basically unchanged. Maybe not like Honda but can easily go over 15k miles without major problems. Great for recreational riding and beginner riders. This honda model is cramped for bigger riders, outdated and quality is not like it used to be.
@wagenpitstop7908 from what I found out the Kawasaki motors are built to better specs than the kymco.as several other things on the bikes.. that why there cheaper than the Kawasaki
@@drumroosteri don't know about that, but at this part of the world they were selling for the same price. Unfortunately brute force is not available for purchase new this last 2 years and kymco sells 300 with efi and carb versions for aprox. 5200 eur. Also all part numbers are the same for kawi and kymco.

Please ride our before you buy the Recon..I couldn't find anyone local with one to ride.if yr in Ky come ride ours
The Kawasaki Brute Force 300 is a Kymco MXU 270.
No its not
Yes it’s a Kymco MCU 270.
Do your homework on ATVs. Kymco makes machines for many major manufacturers.
@jeffreyhaffner2787 and Just like Cub Cadet n Hobart welders they make em cheaper quality so the dealer can sell em cheaper.
But it's not restricted like kymco
