Hey TRM a tip for you: You can increase the size of a man at arms regiment without using up your man at arms limit. F.e. if you create one archer regiment and increase the size of it to three you will only use one regiment slot but will effectively have a regiment that's worth 3 regiments. You can use the rest of the regiments to create other man at arms to counter stuff.
1:50 "I don't like this stuff on the left, I feel like you have to be a female leader in order to use it effectively" "Before I reset our perks, I wanna make use of Promising Prospects to get a good spouse" Congratulations, you found out why the left side of the perk tree exists.
And remember you can reinforce men at arms regiments. SO there is no need to have 3 dedicated to archers, you could just have one reinforced to level 3, which works out exactly the same. You where the defender at 9:50 due to the fact they where sieging your castle, so you are always the defender when relieving a siege. Keep on eye on your supplies, you where close to having starving troops which gives attrition and a big negative to combat advantage. Putting a person you just forced to be your vassal that currently hates you as the person protecting your life from hostile schemes. Definitely no issues there Also i'm sure making your martial into a super vassal holding tons of land could never go wrong 😂
It's more like a "play-skim", because it only touches the surface. I like the diversity of the runs but I'd also love him to commit to some of them. Especially the challenge ones.

Yeah left side isn't as powerful as the right side. Though it can still be useful. The romance scheme speed can be really useful to actually be able to get children with good congenital traits early as you cant really invite women or make them your concubines without them being in your court. And the spouse support bonus is ofcourse good. And promising prospects can obviously be useful if you need it.

you can increase the size of a men-at-arms regiment, you don't have to make a new regiment. You can go upto 500 archers in just one regiment and have a total of 2000 archers.
In the later ages you can increase this even further, you can upgrade a man-at-arms regiment upto level 16 and even higher with some of the other cultures that have special advancements in the different ages.

@@unknowguy9642 yea lol i literally just watched his first video then saw him upload this one. thats a shame, i was a lot more invested in the other one than I am this one
the reason you got defender in the fight is because the fight took place at your fort. tho if they occupied the fort before you got there they would have been the defender.
9:50 you get the defending bonus because they were seiging an allied holding/your holding. If you control the place being seiged, you always get defender, even if you are the one moving into the tile.
as a CKII vet, I can answer the question why the battle at 9:40 had Trmplays as the defender. They were sieging his holding, so when he brought his troops in it wasn't an attack, but reinforcing the holding.
They just straight aren't as strong though, especially early on. But they are definitely still useful. Marriage prospects and spouse support bonus are obvious, but romance scheme is one of the few ways to really get children with good congenital traits early since you cant make out of court women into your concubines and you cant really invite anyone. Its also actually a way to get good commanders, knights and vassals. Romance a woman, invite her to your court, then matri marry her to a man to invite that man. May require you to sway the man to boost his opinion of you first too, so combine Gallant with the diplomacy tree which boosts the sway scheme. The good part of this too is that if the woman in a matri marriage loves you she wont leave your court, so she can even still be your baby maker and the man in the marriage can never leave even if he finds out and hates you for it, and if you want to make him a vassal then just break up with the woman. Of course, you can also just replace that with intrigue too.
You can set a single waypoint, which can be moved (hit F3 and select the flags, delete down to 1 flag, move the flag before combat) to have all your troops raise right next to your target.
The left side of the gallant tree is underrated heavily, romance schemes allow you to rack up insane amounts of prestige and you showed how effective the +50 marriage proposal is. 25% extra spouse skills is fantastic. The full tree is also fantastic with peacemaker being one of the best skills you can get behind probably only meritocracy and ducal conquest
The left part of the gallant tree is to get the best spouse, whatever they are married or not, whatever what you want is their stat, gene, or claim. It also can let you farm a ton of prestige if your spouse is not your soulmate, thus won't piss them off if you go around romancing everyone, as long as it end with only a kiss. Ducal and royal consort or children are 350 and 750 prestige each, double if they are ruler. Courtship by itself can generate you more prestige then a full prestige tree in diplomacy.
i do not why, but he thinks that if an ep doesn't end succesfull it's worth it which is actually wrong, i watch his rimworld vids and the way u end is the most important in a series
Light footman are the most common men at arms early on as they are the cheapest and the tribal AI seems to recruit men at arms based purely on cost early on so there first 2 are almost always light foot in my experience so you should always get bowmen first as a counter and horsemen or special cavalry are an excellent choice as your next unit due to the damage in the pursuit stage, i have had them make 200+ kills when no over unit made double digits and this make a lot of difference in long wars with multiple battles and i think it also increases prestige/piety from each battle but dont quote me on the second part.
An important thing to remember as you continue to expand is being the de jure ruler of your vassal. You need to have the title directly above your vassal or you take like a 50% hit to their levy contribution.
If you only keep your first red rally point, everything will must on it, including raiders. You can move it to anyone of your territories before mustering too.
If your raiding army passes through a county which has an undamaged or unsieged castle you take attrition, once you've raided that province you can safely pass to the other side without taking attrition.
you can and should hire a court physician before going to fights, there is a trait, 'physician' which increases each time he heals someone, but you can get it just by being a physician and healing someone and increase it on the job, it has a lower chance at first, but when it goes up to 4 star it saves the knights quite often. also, the gallant tree has 'knight effectiveness +75%' and considering that your knights do most of the damage, its worth it. The other trait is 'medicine man' or 'herbalist' and physicians scale with learning, also most often your priest needs learning, and this one is harder to get than the other one. So for this reason, best to hire your priest as court physician and forbid him from being a knight. The other option is to appoint your wife cause she likes you and she will be with you until you die. Also, you can get her trained with events like 'going on pilgrimage' where you get ill, or picking up the trait 'flagellant' where you beat yourself to release stress and get wounded, and if you get healed which is likely, then you get 'scarred' which will give prestige and opinion bonus. These are generally low chance to kill you but a good opportunity to increase the physician's skill. The only way they can die if you let them take your capital, so it's good to increase the fort level or move the capital (once in a life). There are special locations that got way higher garrison and walls, so the attackers can't even take it if they don't have enough members. For example, in my Apulla/Sicily/Italy run, i had Siracusa with 750 garrisons, increased to 900 with traits, and the rebel attackers couldn't even go through it, and was just chilling under it. If you can raise it to 900-1200, then rebels and single county attackers cant surprise you.
The reason you were the defender in the fight around 10:00 is because its you territory, if you fight in a holding that you control you will always be the defender.
Something I learned is that if your spymaster doesn't like you, schemes against you have a higher percentage chance of success. Make that -31 spymaster like you before you get assassinated lol. Happened to me 3 times already

Also just and sadistic traits can only be passed down if you assign sadistic guardians to a children those traits are not inheritable
