Could not agree more. I've seen a dozen shows including them with Phil Lesh & friends and as the Word with Robert Randolph & John Medeski. I got Luther's setlist off that show. Great live band! Luther & Cody are fantastic musicians. Cody kills it on the washboard every time.
@@exdemocrat9038 Funny to find your reply here today as I just saw them again last night in Williamsport Pa. with Cedric Burnside and Rebirth Brass Band opening for them. Then Cedric played the whole set with Luther, Cody and Jesse(Bass). Always great to see NMA(like I said above.......With whoever they have in the lineup) !!! Believe it or not Cody did not play the washboard last night. It was the first time I ever saw a NMA show and he didn`t. Like you, I`ve seen NMA, North Mississippi Osborne, The Word, Black Crowes, South Memphis String Band, Southern Soul Assembly, Hill Country Revue, & Missing Cats(Cody side project) as well as Luther solo a couple times(did I forget anything ?!?). Jesse played one of the best bass solos last night that I`ve ever heard anybody play in any band..........and I was a die hard NMA 3 piece band fan when Chris Chew was on board, and thought Carl Dufrene would have been a better fit than Jesse. We loved Carl`s playing with them and Anders Osborne. I still really miss Chew`s additions to the feel of the delivery of the songs. I have 3 set lists that Chris gave me over the years. Cody also played an awesome drum solo last night, that surpassed anything I`d heard him do for years !
@@appalachianrk I saw them with Chris Chew in Boulder, Colorado 10+ years ago. I hit a bowl and accidentally blew it on stage was Chew turned right into the cloud of smoke and he said "that's what I'm talking about" I miss Chris Chew's addition to NMA as well.
@@exdemocrat9038 Was that at the Boulderado show that was taped and officially released? I listened to that show earlier this week and you can hear him say that ! It was at The Fox in Feb. 2008. Sounds like you have had your 15 minutes of Fame ! /EDIT/Just re-listened to that part of the Boulderado show and it might be a different time. Chris says: We got weed in the south...we got some good dope.....I don`t smoke it but I can smell it and it smells pretty darn good ! Hey smoke dope for me. So it might be a different show than yours. So happy to be able to get out and hear live music again after 20 months without any shows ! My brother went and saw shows at the Fox in Boulder. Best Wishes, Rick
@@appalachianrk that date sounds about right in Boulder. It was at the FOX theater. Saw them in Salt Lake City in a 300 person venue in February of 2020. Luther's solo at the beginning of the show was amazing.
Luther Dickinson is the best guitarist most have never heard of. DAYUUM, the boy can play, and if you think he’s impressive, Cody can play any instrument in the studio.
The Dickerson brothers are number 1 in my book of the best musical duo of all time when they play in Memphis it’s a full house of devoted fans who love the these guys 😅
Tremendous. Honest question: Why doesn't this video have several 100K views?
Fantastic ! first time I've seen this great Jimi track covered..
Sssshhhhiitttttt! That was awesome 👌
Heard you first on KNKX radio. You guys are phenomenal!! 💙💙💙
I was here for the guitar but that man beat every bit of the skins off of those drums!
Luther and Cody are the Real Deal........no matter who they team up with !!!
Can`t wait for my next NMA LIVE SHOW !
