I miss the Chris Chew years. NMA are still my favorite live band just miss Chew. I remember blowing a puff of smoke on stage & he turned right into it and he said "that's what I'm talking about."
I just seen them @ Third Man Records in Nashville on 5/19/17. Drove 10 hrs from Metro Detroit to attend it.Small intimate room that only holds maybe 75 people.Best show I've been to in many years.
Great Band. Have a lot of them in collection. Main influence is Blues/RL burnside and the rest of the great blues that has influenced our rock and roll for years. I recommend some research, check out Live at Bonaroo!
These guys have matured big time in the last 5-6 years. Shows in their live stuff. Guitar player has come a very long way. They began at "eh," and have progressed to head-turning performances. I'd say they still have a lot to offer.
There's just a tone to those humbuckers that fattens out the whole song. I think that's a good thing. Luther has some pedals that Jimi didn't, and he uses the wha and drive throughout, but his basic tone is pretty fat. Also I think he's playing it in Open G#. That changes a lot.
In his honour I'd say. This way folks get to feel what Jimi wanted us to on a live rig. Sweaty, raw and loud. Feel it in your chest. Luther pays homage to the greatness of Jimi. Respect is due.
One of the best live bands you'll ever see.
NMA has been my favorite touring band to see “live”.
I obviously can't speak for Jimi but, I am pretty sure he would be happy Luther did his rendition.
This is a solid cover of Hendrix!!
Agreed

Jimi would be proud !
I love a quieter mastery of the guitar. I love a heavy riff...but the subtle control of all the notes is special.
