Gonna learn to trim the fat when it comes to talking about any particular topic too much, otherwise the terraria review would be an hour long.
Anyways. Hope you like it it definitely gets my seal of approval.
By the door in level 5 there is a lever that lets you open the door to level 7

for those of you curious, the devs have stated that they plan on adding multiplayer... sometime in the future (with only 1 actual programmer the updates on this game can take months at a minimum, and there's no sign that multiplayer is even next on the list).
I dont remember exactly where I saw it, but I think I read somewhere that because of the advanced physics engine/mechanics, multiplayer is very challanging for them to do as the damage calculations and all that are complicated to do over multiplayer.
The potential of this game is amazing, I really hope they succeed with the project because it will be incredible

On level 3 there is a secret button you can push by the shelf with jars on it. There is a night vision helmet.
The game was absolute hell before I learned that holding down the v key does something.
You're not saving health potions for yourself, you're saving them for derrin. YOU use the mask in level 6. The reason for this is revealed in a journal in the apothecary's office on level 5 (the crossroads) which I was lucky enough to read before using my first health potion. The health potions aren't described as being a potion, but as a healing salve. The journal in the crossroads mentions that they found a salve which altered organic material, which the dude who discovered it first noticed because his skin started to become more scaly. So naturally they started running experiments with it on terminally ill patients, and they discovered that it had a range of effects, but eventually one patient went crazy and acted like a "cornered animal".
I haven't been paying much attention to the lore, but what if that salve is that healing salve we keep finding? The only two with set spawns are in hospitals. And that person acting like a cornered animal? Sounds a lot like those weird undead that we find wandering around everywhere. It's probably fine to use the salve, but I'm not taking any risks. That shit is for derrin to enjoy all on his own.

Nice review, but I disagree with calling it a tech demo. I think that is something that should only be said for something that is genuinely only a tech demo and is as shallow as that sounds.
Exanima is it's own full game in development which will be a prelude to a future full game using the same basis after all.

The tech demo label made sense when there was one level and no arena. But I feel like due to the circumstances, the tech demo label is going to stick all the way to release.

I can't believe this doesn't have more views. It's waaaaay better than a lot of videos showcasing the game -- especially the ones that showed 0.8 but didn't feature Thaumaturgy.
lol, I literally bought Exanima after wasting 1k h of Mordhau and I gotta say, some of the weird manoeuvres translate well, acels (making your sword go faster), Footdrags (overheating but aiming for the legs instead of the head) and probably more stuff that I haven't found out about yet, also I'm stuck fucking Sir always whoops my ass and I either find the hole but he isn't following me or I panic, get lost and he smashes me in the showers... Great Review, keep up the good work

12:29 Someone didn't find a green gem. It's actually one of the best slashing swords in the game with the highest possible slash damage score, the catch is that you require a green power gem to keep its edge retained; otherwise it degrades overtime. Great weapon for killing the smaller monsters, kills them in two to three good hits.
Facts. This video isn't very well researched lol. There is literally a lever on the wall for the door to stage 7 at 14:10 too.

Man you summarised all my thoughts exactly about this game, one difference tho the golems are alot easier to kill that the blademasters and demons, you can easily kill them even without thaum
I never had much trouble with the blade masters. But yes the golems are cheesable. If you wanna kill sir in a straight up right, get the decorated pole axe (or any polearm) and choose a long hallway to back up in while swinging. Easy kill.
to the left of the broken bridge on lvl 7 there is a platforming section, be careful (and the exanima discord seems to like this review)

I personally hope that the Devs will focus on Exanima more than Sui Generis (at least right now)- Sui Generis is, in my opinion, too big for a begginer studio like theirs and I do not want them to burn themselves.

I love this game. I enjoy tripping enemies when wacking them. I also lead them to holes and traps. I bought the game and enjoyed it very much. I hope they have more places in the future, like forest, rivers, tundra, deserts, where more physics would be inplemented like fire, slippery ice, water. I wish you can also make traps. Reminds me of gladiator, story begins for psp with the armors.
If you're enterntained by tripping enemies over, get a shield, crouch under and you can lodge the shield under their leg, after that, get up and preform the sickest smackdown out there. Doesn't always work but its hilarious.

12:29 "It's got a terrible sword, trust me don't use it." he says about the best sword in the game lol (Edit: the reason it is great is that if you put the green gems in it gets the best slash stat a sword can currently get, which is almost 1.5x more than normal swords which is great.)
Yeah but it uses gems that could be used on the healing mask. Just didn't seem worth the trade off

For new players I agree, probably should save green gems for health. It’s just a lot of more experienced players don’t need nearly as many health items and can afford the luxury of using the green gems.

This game has been so much fun. I've been playing it for the past 3 weeks and bought a laptop just so I could enjoy this game.
I had to scam the game into moveing save files so I could save anywhere so that I would not throw my computer out my window.
When talking about the difference in playable characters, you forgot to mention that although the villager has no magic, and no derrin, you do get get nicer shoes. Totally worth.

If they just gave you the option to lock the camera to your back this game would be 10x easier and less frustrating. It feels like I'm fighting the camera just as much as the actual enemies

On some of the clips of the video I noticed you have 2 followers, how? Whenever I try loyalty on anything with Derrin along they always kill each other. Some times you even have three which I assume is Derrin and 2 risen dead or guys under loyalty
Honestly a struggle that was, there was times where I did get lucky and they didn't kill each other, there were times where derrin got very bloodlusty and killed anything, so I left him behind and raised 2 undead until the ai started killing each other again. For the golem president boss, I raised 2 undead and had derrin aswell. They all tried to kill each other immediately so I rushed into the boss room, the ai prioritises following me instead of killing each other thankfully. The moment the boss died I cancelled raise dead on the 2 followers before they all went back to their free for all

Honestly, I just bought it because I was enjoying the fuck out of a pirated copy and the negative comments pissed me off.
im happy you actually bought the game, but most of all happy that someone else knows the negative reviews for exanima suck. Either people who complain about updates or people think you cant do things like move your camera.

Did you get those clips from a stream of your own let's play of this game? Can we see it please?
Before I started streaming I got most of the clips just by recording myself play, now that I am streaming with facecam too I get a mix of stream and solo play cause for some segments I can't include facecam or voice over. (like the opening to my Hades review)As for seeing the raw footage I'm afraid once the reviews are done it no longer exists after a few days. I need the space to record more footage for the next video.

I have 30 hours on the game, I had gotten all the way to the marketplace, had Captain Armour, and Derrin had Golem Armour, I had the lightning mace everything was at least in good condition, I was basically unkillable, had 3 potions and like 7 repair orbs. Then I fell down a f*cking hole because my idiotic character decided to turn around toward the hole rather than away, slipped and fell.
The bone sword is literally the best. It’s an absolute demon bane.

Just started playing Exanima.
Got fucked multiple times until I made it through the first three levels.
Now I'm seeing you have Derrin with you all the time... I found this guy and he literally died a few rooms further when fighting one undead.
So... am I fucked again when he's not there later on? The next few stages look insane with all these demons.
He definetly helped, but he wasn't 100% needed. He is a beast later tho

Isn’t this sui generis? I lost track of the kickstarter many years ago and had a hell of a hard time finding this game now. Why the name change?
As said in the video, this is like the skeleton of SG. Mechanics from Exanima will be ported into SG in the future. Following this structure allows them to have a playable game while they code and create assets for the real deal.

Exanima is shit. Played for about 15 mins, had enough: there's a huge difference between high difficulty games and bad development. Frustration is NOT funny and is not a good example of how to make things challenging.
